What Was The Effect Of The Space Shuttle Challenger
.... seconds later, caught fire and created the explosion.
Among the other minor problems were those of electrical problems and
faulty gages which were just "overlooked" because the problems were only
minor and they posed no real threat to the safety of the mission or the
crew of seven(7).
11:39:17am, Tuesday, January 28th, 1986. As the Space Shuttle
Challenger soared into the sky that morning, 74 seconds into flight, it
exploded, killing all 7 crew members on board including one High-School
teacher. This was the worst accident in the history of the U.S. Space
Program. It was witnessed by thousands of spectators and visi .....

Study Of Family Interaction Lead To New Undrestanding Of Abusive Parents
.... and Oldershaw have identified
distinct categories of abusive parents and their children.
'Harsh/intrusive' mothers are excessively harsh and constantly badger their
child to behave. Despite the fact that these mothers humiliate and
disapprove of their child, there are times when they hug, kiss or speak to
them warmly. This type of mothering produces an aggressive, disobedient
child.
A 'covert/hostile' mother shows no positive feelings towards her child.
She makes blatant attacks on the child's self-worth and denies him
affection or attention. For his part, the child tries to engage his
mother's attention and win her approva .....

The Media And The Fear Of Victimization
.... are more
often victimized by blacks. The rate of black on white crime is now where near
34%. This predisposes white women to the fear that they will be victimized by a
black person, thus creating a bias towards blacks.
In regards to the candidate as a professor I feel that she didn't
involve the students enough. As a result of this I found her presentation boring
despite having an interesting topic. She failed to properly deliver her
presentation. She read from her notes entirely too much. She seemed very
reserved and almost shy at times, not what I expect from a professor.

Communication Progresses Between People
.... This is
where the telephone plays a role. It facilitates an almost instantaneous
connection at a reasonable cost, and bridges a gap. Fortunately, this is
now made possible by satellite systems launched into orbit by a recently
developed rocket deployment system. Aside from this, people should attempt
to communicate with people in their immediate surroundings more often, and
use the more up-to-date technology sparingly, and only when appropriate.
If a walk is taken down the street, or perhaps a ride on the subway,
there will always be people seen with "Walkmans" or similar escapism
devices. People are turning off the .....

Gangs
.... for money. A 6 year old kid,
who is not yet a member, receives impressions that he or she could make $200 to
$400 for a small gang job. In August of 1996, an eleven year old Compton child
received $400 for killing a rival classmate (Wesbrach, 1996). Although money
and popularity are important factors, they are not strong enough to persuade
kids to do things that are strongly against their morals. Other stronger force
such as broken families and the media, along with peer pressure, works together
to persuade young kids to join a gang.
Second of all, the formation of gangs in cities, and most recently in suburbs,
is facilitat .....

Why Corporal Punishment Is No Longer Justifiable In Discipling Children
.... shown some evidence
suggesting that corporal punishment would not work in America during this
point in time. Lawsuits, and hospital stays come to mind immediatly. I
think that the government will agree with me when they vote whether or not
to reinstate corporal punishment.

Gangs: A Violent Reality
.... are strongly against their morals.
One of the ways that kids morals are bent so that gang violence becomes
more acceptable is the influence of television and movies. The average child
spends more time at a TV than she/he spends in a classroom. Since nobody can
completely turn off their minds, kids must be learning something while watching
the TV. Very few hours of television watched by children are educational, so
other ideas are being absorbed during this period of time. Many shows on
television today are extremely violent and are often shown this from a gang's
perspective. A normal adult can see that this is showing how .....

Understanding Behavior
.... get
away from the sunday school "snobs".
It should come as no surprise that Darlene has also expressed a desire
to quit highschool as well. This may also explain her reluctance to join
any clubs and the way she anticipates unfriendly reactions from people she
meets. Darlene's teachers agree that although Darlene has an above
average intellect, she still only aquires average marks. I believe this
problem can be traced to her parents. It si known that Darlene's parents
keep Darlene in 6 days of the week, and when they do let her out she must
be home at ten. It is also known that Darlene must do alot of housework on

Drugs And Their Effects On Business
.... 11 of them were on drugs. "(The U.S.)
spends billions of dollars on military defense, and our military may be
crippled by this drug problem."T Drugs cost a lot and the need for them is
ever increasing. A drug habit can quickly drain a worker's pay check while
he still needs more drugs. An employee will embezzle to raise the funds
necessary to buy more drugs, an employee in a high place has access to
embezzle large amounts of cash or sell company secrets to rival compa nies
or foreign powers. Drugs reduce the ability to make decisions, and if the
addict is responsible for large amounts of cash the effects can be
distasterous. T .....

Existentialism
.... movement. Other popular
playwrights were Albert Camus, and Jean Anouilh. Just like Anouilh, Camus
accidentally became the spokesman for the French Underground when he wrote
his famous essay, "Le Mythe de Sisyphe" or "The Myth of Sisyphus". Sisyphus
was the man condemned by the gods to roll a rock to the top of a mountain,
only to have it roll back down again. For Camus, this related heavily to
everyday life, and he saw Sisyphus an "absurd" hero, with a pointless
existance. Camus felt that it was necessary to wonder what the meaning of
life was, and that the human being longed for some sense of clarity in the
world, si .....

Fingerprinting Kids
.... over to the parents for safekeeping. The apparent purpose of the
program is to help provide positive identification to link either children
picked up, or bodies recovered, with missing person notices.
Every year about 1 million children are reported missing. Of these
most, about 800,000, are away from home for less than two weeks. About
150,000 of the total missing are abducted; of these two thirds are abducted
by a divorced parent.
Some of the reasons behind the missing children are not pretty.
According to an article in Parade, "about 35 percent of runaways leave home
because of incest, 53 percent becau .....

Safety In Our Schools
.... or sister's even if they don't like them now, they'll miss them
when they die. When the kids get out of the school, they should go to a
selected place to wait for others and teachers to take authority. The
children should then proceed to try to stay clear of the firemen and police
officers that might soon arrive because of the consequences which might
encounter the child if she/he gets in their way. The Firefighters could
lose their concentration with such distractions could cost someone's life.
When the children interfere with the firefighters, they could cause an
explosion and be struck by equipment, colliding with .....
