Personal Writing: The Relay Race
.... it seemed the finishing line was miles
away from me. I opened my eyes with a fierce glare and I decided to run to
death. Every thing looked different from a second ago. I knew my team was
about to be the victor.
"GO!"
The second runner shouted. I darted forth. I put my hand back. I felt the
monster in my hand. I grabbed it as hard as I could and then I accelerated.
The monster, in my hand, was satisfied with his new environment. My legs
and arms were moving as fast as they could, and I ran with the wind to my
back. It seemed like I was running faster than the wind was blowing behind
me.
Few seconds later, I shouted at the next .....

Creative Writing: Revenge Of The Hacker
.... what seemed to be another dimension to the every day "lamer."
Rich was not alone on his journey's though. He had four friends from
school that accompanied him. These friends where just about the only people
that knew about his Internet secrets and every day these four met on a chat
service called IRC that stood for Internet Relay Chat. Always the same
nicknames, always the same chat channel. The stage was set for the most
fun anyone in the world could have, or so though Rich and his buddies. In
the channel of friends course there was Richard the master of hacking
access to a place. When on the Internet Rich used the nickn .....

Personal Writing: Non-Conformity
.... youth group meetings, and I was amazed that
thirty high-school kids were there. We talked in-depth about Jesus and
chapters of the Bible. I really enjoyed it. I talked to my parents about
switching churches. They knew that Redeemer's was right for me, but at the
same time, they wanted me to stay with my old church. I tried to do both
for a while, but my old church kept wanting me to commit myself to them. I
found myself wanting to be a part of Redeemer's and commit myself to them.
My parents now fully understand, even though some people at my old church
do not understand.
I was a non-conformist by going to a new church, after a .....

Personal Writing: Why I Should Receive This Scholarship
.... only
about helping those less fortunate than myself. This was a project that
would help build my confidence, and help realize what a joy it is to me to
help those who are in need. Because of my exposure to this and other
community service projects, I know that I want to keep assisting those who
need help. I want to keep climbing up this ladder. I want to keep assessing
my skills to answer to the needs of people in my community, while making
myself a better person.
To sum it up, I think I should recieve this scholarship because of my
financial need, my potential to grow into a community leader, and my
exposure to working with .....

Creative Writing: Sensory Writing
.... colored uniforms stand out in the glare of the
spotlights above. The court has a waxy look, like it was just swept, and
the glass backboards, have a shine as bright as a new car.
The band starts playing a song and the crowd swings their arms back
and forth through the air. The mass of people moving looks like a field of
wheat blowing in a spring breeze. A lady rubs up against me as she moves
down the aisle. Her jeans have cracks, and they feel as dry as a lizards
skin that has spent the day in the desert. Her sweatshirt contrasts the
dry feeling of the jeans. It is made of a soft cotton that makes me think
of a bunny's fur. .....

Personal Writing: Our Vacation In The Sierra Nevada Mountains
.... the trail that lead to the postpile, twisting
and turning along the green, damp trial until we came upon a sight that
every human being should lay their eyes on, Devils Postpile. Enormous
rocks all rubbing against one another scalling the sky. Jumping my way
close to the river, as I drifted away from everyone else, knowing I was
going to catch the mother of all fish in this sacred river. Competing with
my father and brother, I definetly was'nt going to let them outdo this
modern day Tom Sawyer. I hicked along river for a while, wiping the sweat
off my face every other minute, only to find nothing but sheer cliffs and

Personal Writing: Ski Trip
.... took a deep
breath with no worries, for this was not the first time I was confronted
with a suicide mission. In a heartbeat, the exhilarating feeling of going
downhill on a pair of thin skis took over. The breeze rushed through my
hair and flew vigorously. Veering left and right, dodging inanimate
objects, and racing with my buddies at the same time was truly a thrilling
feeling, although dangerous. Flying down a slope at fifty miles and hour,
I felt as if I could leap up and fly away just like an eagle taking off.
Skiing was indeed an incredible feeling.

Personal Writing: "Do You Want To Go To Space Camp This Summer?"
.... five Americans on a team. I tried to use my poor English to make
American friends, but it was really difficult. First, I could not even
introduce myself without looking at my note book in which I had written a
few sentences down. Second, the Americans had never had any Asian friends,
so they were surprised when I bowed, and they asked me many questions.
They tried to understand my English, which sometimes took a few minute,
even to ask where the bathroom was. In fact, one of these friends still
writes me a couple of times a year, and I send him Christmas cards. From
th is experience, I learned that despite different languages, .....

Personal Writing: Sponsoring Of Our Race Car Design Team
.... the information necessary: sponsorship levels and benefits,
along with some slides showing preliminary designs.
Regardless of my planning, nothing prepared me for the anxiety I
felt when I walked into the conference room. The room was simply decorated,
with an elliptical conference table, a dozen or so chairs, and a few
abstract works of art on the wall. The room conveyed the essence of
frugality, and that was a characteristic I did not want to see. In front
of one wall was a projector screen. An overhead projector sat on a cart at
one end of the table. Around the table sat six gentlemen, all dressed in
suits, and there I s .....
