Causes Of Divorces
.... the "new" love. Being in this situation for either partner is never easy and when children are involved, the situation only becomes worse. Sometimes with counseling it can be worked through, but when it is not fixable deep hurt feelings are left behind for the innocent spouse to deal with.
When a young couple has fallen in love, often they will think that they are with the right person and will make an impulsive decision to get married. Granted that sometimes these young and inexperienced couples do make the correct decision, but more often they are not making a wise choice. After being married a few years they may .....

Divorce
.... a Thousand Days, the practice of divorce was illegal and was punishable by ex-communication of the church. During this time, even King Henry the fifth had a very hard time trying to get around this impeccable law. In order to get his divorces he had to resolve in having his wives executed for adultery under false accusations. He had to murder for the divorce, or annulment. How have the times changed so much that you can meet your true love one day, get married the next, and be divorced in time for the weekend? With all of our “freedoms” that come packaged up for us ready and waiting in America comes the ability to marry and .....

Child Abuse In Today’s Society
.... many instances of abuse, especially neglect, are not always documented, and the definition of abuse varies from study to study. These inconsistencies make it very difficult to analyze and compare the statistics on child abuse and neglect.
So what does the term "child abuse" mean in today’s society? The Child Abuse and Prevention Act (PL 100-294) defines child abuse and neglect as the physical or mental injury, sexual abuse, or exploitation, negligent treatment or maltreatment of a child under the age of eighteen, or except in the case of sexual abuse, the age specified by the child protection law of the State by a person who .....

.... be able to receive Medicaid. Some services paid for are bills such as doctor's visits and nursing home care. Most Medicaid funding comes from the federal government. The rest is supplied by the state. Each state runs their own Medicaid program.
A.F.D.C. provides cash benefits to dependent children and the parents or the guardians taking care of them. Most families that qualify for A.F.D.C. have just one parent in the home. About 80 percent of these families are headed by a woman. A.F.D.C. also pays benefits to two-parent families if both parents are unemployed. Most A.F.D.C. funding comes from the federal government. The Problems Of Affirmative Action
.... the quota had to be met.
Affirmative Action promotes the hiring of less skilled workers, thus creating reverse discrimination. It upsets employers, forcing them to choose the best employee from a limited pool of minorities, not just simply the best employee. This creates a hostile environment where the employer is not satisfied with his choice, and where the peers of the employee look down upon him. All of these affect the moral of the workers and new employee, sewing new seeds of racism, when racism is what Affirmative Action was designed to extinguish. On the other hand, what if the new employee is everything that the emp .....

.... and that the child must earn his or her way into the "regular" education environment. Those who support inclusion believe that the child always should begin in the "regular" environment and be removed only when appropriate services cannot be provided in the "regular" classroom.( Education Resources....)Then there are some people that believe that "regular" students and special education students should be segregated at all times. Those people think that the disabled students will be disruptive and eventually cause more problems for the other students because they would be such a distraction.

Is Monogamy The Best Form Of Marriage?
.... to a single partner for life. However, less than one-third of the twenty-nine monogamous cultures completely disapprove of both premarital and extramarital relations (Francouer 72).
For centuries, marriage was a dynastic affair, arranged by the parents and families. During the Middle Ages, they thought of marriage as a passionate love for an unattainable woman, usually the wife of a noble lord. In the 1970s, extramarital sex was estimated at as many as fifty-seventy percent of husbands and wives had been unfaithful at least once during their marriage (Francouer 73). However, in the 1990s, things have changed a little. P .....

The Effects Of Television Violence On Children
.... Violent television viewing does affect children. The effects have been seen in a number of cases. In New York, a 16-year-old boy broke into a cellar. When the police caught him and asked him why he was wearing gloves he replied that he had learned to do so to not leave fingerprints and that he discovered this on television. In Alabama, a nine-year-old boy received a bad report card from his teacher. He suggested sending the teacher poisoned candy as revenge as he had seen on television the night before. In California, a seven-year-old boy sprinkled ground-up glass into the lamb stew the family was to eat for dinner. When asked why .....

The Crucial Role Of Mass Media
.... Rushkoff’s essay on the ability of American people to see past the distractive sensationalism of modern day mass media. The debate that was engaged in class rested on these two contradicting sides.
On one side there is Manhiem. Arguing modern day mass media is profit and deadline driven, lacks true integrity, and despite the many different mediums it is still the same story taken apart, reassembled and passed on with little, if any difference in content. Today’s media determines a story’s “newsworthiness” not on content but rather on the location, timing, timeliness, and predictability of the story. That is the more conveni .....

Hooked On The Internet
.... of every nine Internet users", estimates the author of Digital Drug Marilyn Elias (13). According to many experts, it is becoming clear that millions cannot control the habit of spending endless hours in front of the computer screens, and that addiction to Internet can cause as much damage in people's lives as alcohol, drugs, and gambling.
Why is this new epidemic so widespread? Computers are rather inexpensive: even one thousand dollars can buy a perfectly adequate one. Daniel Dern, a well-known author in many computer related fields, states that "no fewer than 55 million US households - more than 50 percent of all American .....

Gay Marriage
.... is not a very strong one. As a United States citizen, everyone is guaranteed certain rights in the Constitution, marriage being one of them. Marriage is “a fundamental constitutional right, or a broader right of privacy or of intimate association” (Price, 1). This means that those who wish to share their lives in an intimate and private way have the right to do so. In 1967 the Supreme Court announced that “marriage is one of the most basic civil rights of man…essential to the pursuit of happiness” (Berzon, 4). This right should not be taken away because a person happens to prefer others of the same sex. Homosexual couple .....
