Trans-racial Adoption
.... adoption. The reason being the children and
youth services would rather put a black child in foster homes of that race
instead of letting a white couple adopt it because they are white. They
believe that putting a black child in white family would culturally damage
that child, that they would grow up not knowing their heritage. They
believe that a parent of a different race is not as equipped to educate a
child about issues of their racial identity(McNair 1). They do not
realize putting a child through years of moving from foster home to foster
home would damage them because they would have no sense of family or love .....

Argumentative Essay: Should Women Be Allowd To Go Topless In Public
.... etc. This final saying, “Sluty” is
interpreted by 90 percent of North Americans as a tight skirt and tight tank top
which happens to be the usual ensemble of a prostitute. This first impression
of a girl in nothing but a skirt and a bare chest will no doubt elevate to the
new version of a “Slut” and a girl that wants it.
My second point is, what kind of questions will a mother be asked by her
son when he sees a half nude woman walking down the street. The first question
that this child will ask is why do these women have no shirt on and you do?
Your reply will be well ahhh go talk to your father. This dilemma will n .....

Gangs: Until There's An Answer
.... that, while based on widely accepted ideas, an appeal to the
emotions through sympathy for the injured children was also applied. To
justify their claim, statistics such as 28 children under the age of 10
were murdered between 1987 and 1994, 95% of which were murdered with
firearms and over half the murders were done as drive-byes. Unfortunately,
the means to correct even one of these problems was not included.
Hutson and Anglin do cite what they consider to be the root causes
of gang formation: poverty, stressed families, unemployment,
underemployment, lack of education, racism, and a breakdown of
sociocultural institutio .....

What Are Values?
.... businesses and vehicles" ( ).
Kids carries guns around because they believe that it commands respect from
their peers and that no one would try to mess with them. Many crimes
committed involves guns. Teenagers commit crimes towards each other and
well as adults. Teenagers commit crimes for reasons ranging from needing
money for drugs to needing money to buy a new pair of shoes. Teenagers
wearing expensive jewelry or shoes are targets of other young offenders .
What could cause teenagers to commit more crimes and acts of
violence? More and more kids are growing up exposed daily to violence on
television and their own ne .....

Personal Values In Today's Society
.... I can run out to Arby's for 99 cent roast beef sandwiches,
but only for a limited time. And if those roast beef sandwiches get me
sick I can go to Osco and get some medicine twenty-four hours a day. All
of these ads just came rapid fire. Is this playing upon my need for
instant gratification? Are the advertisers trying to get me to hurry?
I have to go see a Jeep dealer so I can outrun a bull in heat, but
I better be careful if I get it to dirty the pigs will fall in love with it.
Wow is that a nice Jeep, but what is the price anyway? And is it
practical to own a vehicle that can go anywhere on or off the road? I
don't see .....

Violence In Media: You Are What You Watch
.... is made on the innocent minds of young children too young to
read or speak. TV is destroying society's respect for human life. Daniel
Boorstin, librarian of US Congress, said that TV has the power "to conjure
up a self-created reality that can mold public values and influence
behaviour." The Canadian Government guarantees free speech and free press,
but conjuring up anti-social values for our children is hardly what they
had intended.
Like it or not, TV has taken over the role of passing down the
traditional values to our younger generation. It has replaced the role
formerly filled by elders. For a long time, el .....

There Seems To Be A Need For Violence In Society!
.... of you.
That is again, a wrong message.
Violence is glorified the most throught media, violent movies, TV
shows and newspaper sensationalism.
Violent movies are born one after another: "Die Hard","The God
Father", "Natural Born Killers", "The Proffesinal", "Pulp Fiction","
Terminator 2", etc. When these kinds of movies come out, there are lines for
tickets. In some countries people have to stay in lines to buy food.
Violence can not be the way to survive in this society! People are not only
glorifing violence by watching violent movies, but they are also accepting
it asking producers for more of them. Wrong messages .....

What Is An American?
.... there
are always more policemen, soldiers, or CIA agents ; it does not matter.
These soldiers and policemen and agents ; they are all modern Americans.
They try to help other people in trouble, and try to make America a better
place for other people to live in.
People like that are what make up America. They hold the society
together, and make sure our neighborhood is safe, and so on. If we didn't
have people like this, there would be no America. Just a land full of crime,
treason, greediness, etc. Modern Americans are responsible for being our
friends and families who live in this country. This leads me to my
conclusion that d .....

Why Are The Homeless Homeless?
.... a little longer or beg a little more, and that job would be
theirs to enjoy. Keeping these articles of clothing clean would be
difficult, but manageable. If you can't afford a coin operated laundromat
(I'm sure there'd be plenty of left over change from begging), just find
some large, clean puddle of water in the street to wash things in. As for
cleanliness, I'm sure people throw away left over deodorant or
antiperspirant, soap, and other such toiletries to where you can care of
the bathing problem. You don't need to clean your hair, in fact, doing so
would rid yourself of the natural oils that build up over time and actually .....

Why People Dye Their Hair
.... because they need a change. They're
sick of the brown-haired, boring old person they see in the mirror every
day, and want to add a little spice to their look. It's really hard to be
boring looking when your hair can be seen from a block away. It's a valid
reason to make a change, and seems like a good idea to me.
A more common reason that people dye their hair, but most wouldn't
admit to, is to try to be "cool". If making friends or getting respect is
your reason for bringing out the dye, I would seriously recommend
reconsideration, and would look down on you if that was your only reason.
Maybe for some people it would be a per .....

Women's Fashion And Cosmetics
.... equal value. Or maybe just having fun." It is also money consuming.
Make-up and hair products are expensive. The money used to buy cosmetics
and hair styling products could be spent for more important things. If one
has that much money to give away, why not save it for a college education
or donate it to a charitable organization? The time and money spent on
cosmetics and hair commodities imprisons women by preventing them from
doing more constructive things.
Next, billboard images of waif models cause thousands of women to diet
to the point of anorexia. People see beautiful models on T.V., magazines
and newspapers. .....

You Must Have Rules To Be Free
.... in or participate.
What would it be without rules? It wouldn't be anything. People could
get hurt if certain rules missing. Ever try playing football or soccer
without rules. It usually turns into a blood bath. But with rules it
loses some of its blood but it doesn't lose its fun in playing. I do agree
sometimes there are stupid rules.
Well all these examples are very extreme and I'm sure they'd never
happen or won't happen for a very long time. But today in the United
States it is even hard to even think what it would be like to have rules.
So in my opinion the statement "you must have rules in order to be free" is .....
