Communication With Teenagers
.... times glancing at the television. The sister wears a frown as
she sits down and the brother has a blank, half-smiling, almost mocking
look upon his face as he stares at the sister.
The sister’s tone of voice is sarcastic and she appears to be
irritated simply by his presence. He begins to talk to her from the chair
across the room. “You didn’t do your dishes!” he declares, loud enough for
their parents to hear.
Bluntly she replies, “So?”
He rolls his eyes in response and then asks if she wants the old
television, because it still works. She scoffs at him as if he doesn’t
know anything. “No, we’re gonna give it away.”

Money And The Way It Alters The Mind
.... the world. It is
insane how the majority of Americans see celebrities as heroes instead of
the scientists who try to make the world a better place. The world is run,
not necessarily by the money itself, but the mentality that people have
which makes them crave the power that comes with the pleasure of being
well off.
America’s passion is wealth and the way it can control many aspects
of life. Americans have created a world in which their passion for money
becomes more momentous than all of the greater tasks which were, “achieved
by other societies.” Greed sometimes appears to be the only love of
Americans. No matter what achiev .....

Money Can't Buy Love
.... in a mansion or
million dollar subdivision hardly guaranties happiness or love. In million
dollar sub-divisions a person has no chose in what their lawn will look
like, or even what color their house will be. What kind of life is that?
In a small town, a person never worries about the little things and has
more time to love.
The "money can by love" article is absolutely a black and white
fallacy in every possible way. The author fails to point out any examples
that would badly represent her point of view. She never once speaks of the
majority of Americans who are middle class and heaven forbid, married for
love.

Equity In Canada
.... ‘trash’ and told to ‘go home.’ I found the author’
s choice of words quite appropriate when she described the ‘people of the
east’ in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Words such as Bluenoser, Gaelic and
homogeneity were used to describe the vast majority of people who look and
sound the same in the community.
Throughout the article the author expressed her disgust at this
racist incident although her friend, the black man, has learned to laugh
it off. She stated she was still furious even though the patient himself
says ‘everything is just fine’ when asked about the hospital incident. In
an effort to fight racism, the author called .....

Women In Abusive Relationships
.... years of growing up, laughing and playing as brother or sister.
If the child is at the age at knowing what’s going on, then it’s probably
going to be hard for them to adjust to a new family. It could cause them
to have problems in school, getting into trouble, and not making friends.
The man lies to a woman. He tells her everything’s going to be
okay and he’s sorry. He buys her and the children gifts to try and say
that he still loves her and the children. She believes it and stays in
the relationship. The abuse will sometimes start again when the woman
decides to stay.
I can relate to abusive relationships beca .....

Cosmetic Testing On Animals
.... record the
damage to the eye tissue at specific intervals over an average period of
72 hours. The tests sometimes last seven to eighteen days. Reactions to
the subezces include swollen eyelids, ulceration, bleeding, swollen irises
massive deterioration, and blindness. During the tests, rabbits eyelids
are usually held open with clips, because of this, many animals try to
break their necks as they try to escape.
Acute toxicity tests, commonly called lethal dose or poisoning
tests, determine the amount of a subezce that will kill a percentage, even
up to one-hundred percent, of a group of test animals. In these te .....

An Equal Opportunity
.... standard of life.
He concludes that by studying history, learning how to read and write, and
having knowledge of other cultures is vital to molding a well rounded woman.
Wollstonecraft views are also similar to Defoe’s. She believes that because
women lack much of the education men receive, they have a tendency to
become the stereotypical female of that period. If given a chance at an
actual education they will grow as people and learn to rely upon themselves.
Dependence, or rather independence, was a important issue
Wollstonecraft wrote vehemently upon. She stated that “the woman who
strengthens her body and exercises her m .....

Bulldozing Our Past

clothes. The district insisted that the owners should have enough money
to remodel the home. The owner’s however did not have the extra money.
They discovered it would be cheaper to take a bulldozer to the house and
level it, leaving their 79-year-old tenant homeless.
There are numerous socioeconomical levels. Unfortunately,

Celebrities And Frantic Fans
.... understand that celebrities are just
like us, normal everyday citizens.
We should all realize that celebrities are actually normal people,
trying to earn an honest day’s living, and therefore deserve their privacy
rights. Privacy means a lot to them due to the publicity they tend to get,
celebrities private lives are being exploited each and every day being
that every wrong doing by them will soon get them on the front cover of a
daily newspaper. Understanding that their lives are extremely hectic,
pretty much living a double life, one normal the other imaginary. So
privacy is all celebrities ask for, it’s not everyday th .....

Animal Experimentation Is Acceptable

with diabetes survive because of insulin, 4,000 heart defects are corrected,
and 400 heart and heart/lung transplants are performed a year because of
animal research that is cruel. Also the Americans for Medical Progress
Education Foundation stated that the following were benefits to humans as a
result of animal experiments: antibiotics, vaccines, gene therapy, pace

transplants. Cruel animal research made surgery painless and more common.

Success Secret: A High Emotional IQ
.... percentage is still
high. Through my eyes emotional intellect does mean a whole lot more than
book smarts. Your own life experiences and what you've learned from them
makes you who you are inside. For example if a person does three years in
prison, and comes out they should have learned a lot. They will now be
more aware of how they are carrying themselves on a daily. They will have
come from a side of life where freedom was robbed from them so in fact,
they will appreciate life more and be more patient about things. It is all
about how you carry yourself through life, not how much you know in those
made up books. If your .....

The Many Faces Of Marriage
.... he too is unable to comprehend that life is in the living and
the being, and not in the having and the controlling. Janie not knowing
what marriage really meant, married because she thought he could take care
of her.
Marriage is defined as an insitution uniting a man and a woman in a special
form of mutual dependence, often for the purpose of founding and
maintaining families. As a social practice entered into through a public
act, it reflects the purposes, character, and customs of the society in
which it is found. Janie's questing spirit is crushed under the pervasive
blindness which surrounds her in her early marr .....
