Christianity And Change
.... It almost seems as if religion is a dying
tradition all together. “The signs of death are seen in the declining
membership of the mainline Protestant traditions and in both the declining
attendance and declining authority now seen in the Catholic and Orthodox
churches” (Rollins). People are just not going to church anymore. There
are probably various reasons for this new trend, but it is very sad and
discouraging. People naturally have a need for faith but often don't make
time for faith anymore, a necessity that would help people with many of
their problems and issues of everyday life. “Poll after poll shows that

The Role Of Women In The Church
.... Bible was written may thus be carefully scrutinized. Such
practices may or may not prove sound after comparison with scripture.
Before we discuss specific issues concerning women in worship, we
should consider principles derived from the relationship of Adam and Eve
as described in Genesis chapter one. The Apostle Paul frequently uses this
passage as a guideline when discussing women and women's issues. Genesis 1
verse 27 states: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God
he created him; male and female he created them.” Most Commentators agree
that man and woman are both equally a reflection of God's imag .....

A Comparison Of Islam And Christianity
.... basic creed of Islam is brief: There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad
is the Prophet of Allah. Islam teaches that there is one God, the creator
and sustainer of the universe. This God, Allah, is compassionate and just.
Because He is compassionate, He calls all people to believe in Him and
worship Him. Because He is also just, on the Last Day He will judge every
person according to his deeds. On the Last Day, all the dead will be
resurrected and either rewarded with heaven or punished with hell. In
Christianity one of the Ten Commandments states that "I am the Lord you
God.....you shall have no other gods before me", also identi .....

God's Character Traits
.... in him to get forgiveness and
eternal life. Psalm 9:16 (The Lord punishes the wicked justly) and 101:1 (I
will sing about your kindness and justness) tell of how God is just. God is
very truthful. He never lies or breaks his promises to us. 1 Kings 17:24
(Everything from the Lord is truthful) and Isaiah 45:19 (I Jehovah speak
only truthfulness) say that God is truthful and he will keep all of his
promises with us. Last but not least God has a lot of mercy for us. No
matter how big we sin, if we repent of our sin to God, he will show his
mercy and forgive us. 2 Samuel 24:14 (for God's mercy is great) and 1
Chronicles 21:13 (God's m .....

Do Christians Sin?
.... within us that we have all
at one time acted on, but now, as followers of Christ, must flee from.
Chapter 5 brings yet another complication to this whole process. Here in
v.16 is brought in the difference between mortal and not-mortal sin. The
Johannine community believed that one could intercede for a brother or
sister for forgiveness of a sin that is not mortal. The author goes so far
as to say that you should not pray about the sin that is mortal. These
verses give support to the fact that there is and can be sin in the life of
a Christian, however, there is also forgiveness for that sin.
In chapter 1 v.5-7 there is a dis .....

Wandering as a beggar over northern India, Buddha first
investigated Hinduism. He took teachings from some famous Brahman teachers,

continued his search, attracting but later losing five followers. About 528,
while sitting under a bo tree near Gaya, he experienced the Great

The Roots Of Christianity
.... is the Greek equivalent
of Messiah.
Jesus called Peter, James, John, and other disciples to assist him
with his ministry. He taught his disciples that he was sent by God to do
the work of the Father. The disciples testified that Jesus was the Christ.
On one occasion, Peter replied to Jesus, "And we believe and are sure that
thou art Christ, the Son of the living God." (John 6:69)
Jesus performed many miracles among the people of Jerusalem and the
surrounding communities. He healed the sick, restored the sight of the
blind, and raised the dead. Pharisees, priests, and other Jewish leaders

What Is A Gospel?
.... parables,
and more.
They invite the reader to believe in and obey Christ as the Lord.
The meaning of the gospel changes from the coming of the kingdom to the
meaning of the coming of Jesus Himself, and of His life, death, and
resurrection. "The good news of the kingdom includes a call to repentance
(Mt. 4:17; Mk 1:15)"(McKenzie 320). It presents Jesus as the Messiah and
Savior.
The writers of these books are Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
These four Gospels were written down to preserve the sayings and works of
Jesus for future generations. They were all written a little later after
Jesus' death, probably before A. D. 100. .....

The Differences Between Judaism And Christianity
.... Christianity and Judaism The Jews believe in "anointed prophets,"
or someone who speaks for God. The majority of Jews rejected Jesus Christ

conservative Jews, Orthodox Jews, and Hesetic Jews. There are many

Hinduism And Buddhism

the Buddah taught others what he learned as he sat under the tree. He
called those ideas the four noble truths. The first truth was that
suffering was universal. The second was that suffering is caused by desire.
The third is that the only way to stop suffering is to crush desire. The
fourth is that the only way to end desire was to follow the noble Eightfold
path.
