The Koran, The Bible, And Joseph
.... amount. After Joseph
was sold into Egypt, both accounts tell of how, his brothers had his
clothes stained with an animal's blood and told their father that Joseph
was devoured by a wild beast.
After Joseph was sold into Egypt he became very favored by his
master, the Pharaoh. In the Biblical account, Pharaoh so trusted Joseph
that he entrusted to him everything. The Bible records that Joseph was a
goodly person and well favored (Genesis 39:6). Joseph is tempted with
Pharaoh's wife who seeks to seduce him. She bolts the doors and says,
"Come!" Joseph replies, "My lord has treated me with kindness. Wrongdoers

Eastern Rite Of The Catholic Church
.... continued until 1054 when Pope Leo the IV
excommunicated the Patriarch of Constantinoble. Later the Patriarchs
called together a council to excommunicate the papal delegates and the new
Eastern Rite of the church was born.
The Eastern Rite church is made up of eastern Christians that are
in unison with the catholic church. There are many things that separate
the Eastern Rite Church from the Roman Catholic Church. The Eastern Rite
Church uses a very Greek oriented tradition with their own liturgy and
hymns. The Eastern Rite Church also uses more elaborate icons than the
Roman Catholic Church. Eastern Rite Churches are .....

Experiences Of God
.... and we would hit the woods as soon as we got down there to make
some new trails to ride on. During the summer, there is nothing I like
better than to sit back in the woods, with the sun shining through the
trees, a nice cool breeze blowing, and think about stuff. You always see
those Christian pictures of some proverb and then they have some nature
scene in the background. I always think about that stuff when I'm in the
woods. God is nature, and he is there. In a way, that also makes me feel
better to. There are for sure wild dogs down there, and I've had a couple
of run ins with them. When you are past yelling distance, a .....

"Woe Be To Thee, O Constantinople, Seated On Seven Hills, Thou Shall Not

crossroads of the East and the West which proved to be an incessant source
of troubles, always being entangled in the interests of foreign peoples. It
was the conveyor of eastern and roman culture, the most significant
commercial and religious center and it can undoubtedly regarded as the
heart of a civilization incredibly contributed to the mankind. A bastion of
orthodox Christianity, it was conquered by the Crusaders--the "defenders"
of Christianity, and this colossal blow on it was one of the main causes
for the fall of the Empire under the fanatic and irresistible powe r of the
Ottoman Turks. Lead by the zeal of the .....

The History Of Christianity
.... two sections are
divided up into 66 separate books in all. The most famous books are the
Gospels, which are the first four books in the New Testament: Matthew, Mark,
Luke, and John. Other famous books in the Bible are Genesis, Exodus, Acts,
and Revelation. Revelation is the last book in the Bible and tells about
what will happen in the second coming. The Bible was said to be written by
God through many of his followers. The main followers of Jesus were his 12
Deciples.
The rituals of Christianity are strict, but lenient. The beliefs of
Christianity are that God created the Earth and the God sent his son to die

Burial Rituals In Judaism
.... more important.
Because life is so valuable, we are not permitted to do anything that
may hasten death, not even to prevent suffering. Euthanasia, suicide and
assisted suicide are strictly forbidden by Jewish law. Their laws are so
strict that you are not even allowed to move a dying person's arm or leg if
it would shorten their life. However, when death is imminent and certain
and the patient is suffering, Jewish law does permit one to take away
artificial life support.
After life comes death, and in Judaism death is not a tragedy even
when it occurs early in life or through unfortunate circumstances. Death

The History Of Anti-Semitism Starting From The Bible To The Holocaust
.... dukes, had power over the people (Rosenthal). In this time, many
Christian authorities blamed Jews for killing Jesus and took the
opportunity to use that allegation to gather money for their crusades. The
Duke of Lorraine wanted to go on such a crusade, and to collect money he
spread the rumor that he would kill the Jews to avenge the death of Christ.
The Jews of the Rhineland paid him 500 pieces of silver as ransom, but some
refused, and crusaders slaughtered Jews of Rouen and other cities in
Lorraine. An estimated 8,000 Jews were massacred in France and Germany for
such purposes (Glatzer). Although most of the people we .....

Prayer In Schools: To Pray, Or Not To Pray?
.... In America, it is a right of the people to choose their
belief, or lack there of, and we should learn to respect and honor that.
I personally agree with the first two statements. The picture of
Jesus should not be aloud because Jesus Christ is mainly a Christian icon.
I also believe that a moment of silent meditation is much more appropriate
than a prayer, Therefore I think the people fighting against it are in the
wrong.
Everyone in America, or in the world for that matter, in my opinion,
has the right to an education, and an atmosphere suited to his or her needs.
If we disrespect the growing diversity in our schools, .....

The Catacombs And Christian Persecutions
.... is how the
catacombs were founded. Many of them began and developed around family
tombs whose owners, newly converted Christians, did not reserve them to the
members of the family, but opened them to their fellow people, showing the
faith.
As time went on and room started to run out in the catacombs, these areas
grew larger by gifts or by the purchase of new properties, sometimes by the
Church itself. Saint Callixtus was a very typical case that the Church
took up directly as well as the organization and administration of the
cemetery, assuming a community character.
With the edict of Milan, announced by the emperors Constan .....

Rabbis
.... Rather
he was the first to interpret the words of God and write them. The fact
that God put in the Bible, obscure text for future Rabbis is a symbol that
he expected them to pick apart at even the most minute pieces of grammar.
The Rabbis are expected to find what is necessary in the Bible.
The story of Elizer shows that God's word is secondary to the
Rabbis' interpritation of the Bible. There are two important events in
this story. First, when God says "[Jewish law] always agrees with Eliezer"
and the Rabbis say that "It is not in heaven" (taking the word of the Bible
out of context to refute God), we see that God's wo .....

Buddhism
.... is "Suffering is Caused by Attachment,"
which basically says one must accept responsibility for one's actions. The
third noble truth is, "Freedom from Attachment is the Cure for Suffering";
this says when one is released from suffering he shall reach a state of
mystical unity with the one that created the universe, nirvana. The last
noble truth is, "the Way Out of Suffering is Through the Eight fold Path."
The forth noble truth basically states that life through the Middle Way is
moderation, nonviolence, and compassion.
A man once asked Gautama (Buddha) after Gautama achieved
enlightenment:
"Are you God?"
