Wind Chimes
.... somewhat;
the vibrations of each seperate rod would be commuted to the others, resulting
in more vibrating surface area (and hence, more volume).
The transmission of the chime's sound without the abovementioned
alterations is quite simple; each rod releases longitudinal waves radially from
it's longest axis (excepting deviances caused by deformation or impurity of the
metal), which travel until they are absorbed or reflected by an independent
surface. These waves travel at a speed governed by the temperature of the
atmosphere-- the colder the air, the more immediate the transmission.
The waves that are not absorbed can be percei .....

The Beatles
.... to grow musically. They had moved from simple lyrics
like "Love me Do" to harshly aware reflections of life in their home
country in "Eleanor Rigby"2. There were attempts, some more successful than
others, to incorporate the other Beatles into the idea stage. George
Harrison made this leap successfully with such tracks as "I want to tell
you", "TAXMAN", and the psychedelic "Love you to". Ringo was featured in
the humorous "Yellow Submarine" As the group matured, their creativity
began to rely more on the effects and manipulations that they were able to
produce in the studio. The Beatles agreed to end their touring career af .....

Jimi Hendrix
.... began working as a session guitarist under the name Jimmy James,
playing behind such marquee acts as Sam Cooke, Ike and Tina Turner, and the
Isley Brothers. After gigging extensively with Little Richard in 1964,
Hendrix became entangled in a contract dispute with the mercurial artist
and left to form his own band, Jimmy James and the Blue Flames. With the
exception of an obscure single, "My Diary," with Rosa Lee Parks, none of
the music Hendrix cut with other artists was made more remarkable by his
presence. After playing Greenwich Village coffeehouses for the better part
of a year (still under the moniker Jimmy James), Hendrix .....

Curtis (Clifford, pg. 181). Using the name Jimmy James, he toured with a
bunch of R & B shows, including six months as a member of James Brown's
Famous Flames (Stambler, pg. 290). At the Cafe Wha! in New York, in 1966,
Hendrix decided to try singing. Jimi lucked out when a man by the name of
Charles "Chas" Chandler from Eric Burdon's Animals heard him at the club
and thought he was sensational. When Chas heard him again later that year,
he talked Jimi into moving to England where he would really get the chance
to start his career (Stambler, pg. 290). Alon .....

Jazz
.... descended from ancestors in Africa. These
Afro-Americans learned how to play these European instruments well,
including percussion or the drum set, trumpet, cornet, saxophone, trombone,
tuba, and many other instruments. They wanted to show what they were like
to other races, so they attempted to express themselves and their feelings
through music and the instruments which were so foreign to them. A lot of
the music which they played came from black folk music. Jazz did have a
part of it come from Europe. The instruments of course, and the basic
beginning forms of music helped jazz to be created. Another part of jazz

Franz Liszt And Kurt Cobain
.... entered a
coma by overdosing on a mixture of champagne and tranquilizers on March 4.
Also, Kurt's family history showed that two of his father's uncles
committed suicide, along with the fact that there were a lot of
dysfunctional marriages and alcoholism present. During a concert, Kurt
would jerk around as if he was being electrocuted. After his death, the
sale of Nirvana memorabilia increased dramatically.
As you can see, both Franz Liszt and Kurt Cobain have some
characteristics in common. They had both been hospitalized for an illness.
However, one was physical while the other was mental. Both had unusual
concert styles. .....

went back to his place. He then shot himself and died April 5, 1994. He
wasn't found until April 8, 1994. When they found him he left a suicide
note. It said stuff in it like the band started to suck. And that their was
already a rumor going around that the band was going to break up. He was
always bummed out about everything and he didn't think anything was fun.

That goal was achieved very quickly, so Liam is now concentrating on
maintaining his status as the most successful hardcore underground act,

Pythagorean Philosophy And Its Influence On Musical Instrumentation And Composition
.... the
building blocks of everything, Pythagoras began linking numbers and music.
Revolutionizing music, Pythagoras' findings generated theorems and
standards for musical scales, relationships, instruments, and creative
formation. Musical scales became defined, and taught. Instrument makers
began a precision approach to device construction. Composers developed new
attitudes of composition that encompassed a foundation of numeric value in
addition to melody. All three approaches were based on Pythagorean
philosophy. Thus, Pythagoras' relationship between numbers and music had a
profound influence on future musical education, instrum .....

Rock Music
.... Disc jockey Alan Freed was the one who introduced this music and
later gave it the name of Rock n' Roll. Record companies distributed
records played by whites but composed by blacks. Whites were frustrated
because there weren't any white artists and they didn't want the blacks to
be the stars until Bill Haley appeared with his "Rock Around the Clock". In
this decade, Elvis Presley introduced a music that was sexual suggestive
and outraged dull adults. In time he changed the style of the music by
adopting a country and western style and became a national hero. By the end
of this decade and the start of the next, Rock .....
