Risk Taking
.... increased, thus increasing the moral good of the risk, an idea
which is based on John Stuart Mill's Utilitarianism. Finally, we might define a
morally good risk in a Kantian way by saying that the only acceptable risk is
one which is rationally thought out (Thomas, lecture).
Now that we have several definitions of acceptable risks, we may ask how
these definitions, which seem piecemeal and unrelated, can all combine to form
one definition of acceptable risk. The best way to do this is to examine the
two cases that lie before us and relate the definitions to them. In the process
of doing so, we will determine which risk .....

Storytelling
.... that she mentions
throughout her book, especially the stories her mother told her. The story of
"Fa Mu Lan", for example, teaches women to strive to be the best they can be.
It is a story about a woman warrior who takes place of her father in battle and
returns in victory as a heroine. It evidently shows that her mother tells this
story with her sincerest hopes and passions for her. Her mother wishes her to
become more than what it was hope for . Even though woman in old China only
grow up to be wives and slaves, she hopes and even dilutions of grandeurs for
her daughters thrive in their hearts. Story-telling has been an .....

The Kalapalo Indians
.... organizations, status allocation, and religious beliefs are
consistent with cultural rules and social practices and not with the original
system. Many of the modern local groups can only reconstruct their own history
which is in limited detail, these systems can’t be isolated completely from the
existing society.
The two most important social units in Upper Xingu society are the village and
the household groups. Both the village and household can be considered corporate
in that both control rights to territorial resources, acts as a unit when
performing certain economic and ceremonial activities. Members of a household

Volvo The Collectable Classic
.... company didn't have any technical advances in the car which
probably kept the car and the company alive. To some the car was a very well
build sports car.
I know that in this cars day it was an amazing little car that was
capable of a lot for a family car. A restorer said that the only way to kill
the car is to run it without oil. I believe that, because they are such high
quality, crafted cars. Today the cars are very different, they have and they
are setting the standard for all cars. They were the first car company to have
invented the side impact airbag. The company's reputation is awesome when it
comes to safety. .....

Crabs For The Crabber
.... you should never leave the dock without
is plenty of liquids to drink. I recommend Gatorade or water, but no soft
drinks. It is very hot on the boat and fluids are a necessity so that you do no
dehydrate.
Before you can start crabbing, you need certain materials. The most
important is a commercial license to sell crabs. A license can be purchased
from the Game Warden in Richmond Hill. You must go early in the year because
they only sell a limited number. Once you have a license and your personal
number for your traps, you need a large flat bottom boat with a powerful motor.
I recommend a Yamaha Salt Water Series. This mot .....

How The KKK, Anarchists, Phreaks Compare To Big Brother
.... black people
and other foreigners are evil, which they call, "alien outsiders". These
"outsiders" are "all non-Protestants, aliens, liberals, trade unionists and
striking workers". (Microsoft Encarta 1995) Their traditions have been
pasted down from generation to generation since 1865. Lately, Klansmen
have been running for office and other government jobs like that. Although
the Ku Klux Klan and the Brotherhood have nothing really outstandingly in
common, they are both considered evil by their society which are the U.S.
government and the Party. The Ku Klux Klan is not fighting to make things
better, nor are they .....

Castles

These openings also permitted stones or boiling water to be thrown down on the
enemy. (Encyclopedia Americana, p.790). Towers were built along castle walls
at regular intervals to strengthen them and provide area for castle workers or
visitors.
Moats often surrounded castles for protection. Some people built
castles on banks of lakes or rivers and channeled water to the moat. A
drawbridge laid across the moat and could be raised if an enemy approached.
Castles had few window, because they made the castle drafty and allowed
the enemy a way inside. Glass was a luxury until .....

Normadic Herding-Sami
.... participates in the global indigenous peoples' movement at UN.
Reindeer has always been an important resource of food, clothing, tools
and other products to the Sami. They are milked at different stages of their
nomad's seasonal migration. The meat, fresh or preserved, is excellent, not
least because, so far as possible, it is obtained from selected animals which
are at their prime age (from 4 to 5 years) not, as with venison from wild deer,
when the hunter is able to bag his quarry. It is comparatively lean and
unusually rich in proteins and important vitamins. The tongue and marrowbones
are delicacies. The blood is used .....

Sustainable Development
.... clearing forests. In the IVth region of Chile, forest regions are
being depleted at an amazing rate. This depletion of the forest in this region
results in two main things, one, people must spend increasing amounts of energy
traveling to the site of present cutting and two, the removal of the trees over
time has lead to soil erosion and rapid desertification of the area. This soil
erosion also removes many nutrients from the soil making the land poor for
agriculture. The third division, social, is not met here either. The lack of
organizations to relieve the negative effects of poverty on the environment have
only contribut .....

The Maori Of New Zealand
.... to this
day are they treated as inferiors, by the English. This was not the case with
the neighboring Maori's.
As stated before, the English eventually found their way to the south,
where the beautiful island lay untouched by foreign hands. They also found that
the island had a native populace just as Australia had had. But one thing was
very different from these natives. The English, thinking that this island was
also theirs for the taking, met heavy resistance from the Maori. Many an English
life was lost at the hands of these fiercesome warriors, and even though they
were outclassed technologically, still did the Maori fig .....
