Since coming to America as slaves even back as far back as when the first colonies began, slaves wanted to escape. They wanted to get away from the situation they were forced into. The North, was a more industrialized area where jobs were filled by newly imported immigrants, making them less dependent on slave labor. In Maryland, an owner/leader took the ownership of the land. The whole area was given to Lord Baltimore. Under him, there was talk of joint stock companies, monopolies and distribution of the farmland. Even though it would seem as if the statement would be perfectly relevant to Maryland, there were religion issues facing Lord Baltimore. He and other settlers were Catholic, but there were also Protestants living in Maryland. To escape any major religion problems, he decided that it would be good to fix religious freedom in his colony.

The Bay Of Pigs Invasion

The Cuban Revolutionary Council, the government in exile, in New York City released a statement saying that the bombings in Cuba were ". . . carried out by 'Cubans inside Cuba' who were 'in contact with' the top command of the Revolutionary Council . . . ." The New York Times reporter covering the story alluded to something being wrong with the whole situation when he wondered how the council knew the pilots were coming if the pilots had only decided to leave Cuba on Thursday after " . . . a suspected betrayal by a fellow pilot had precipitated a plot to strike . . . ." The Monitor And The Virginia

The Monitor rode almost completely submerged, with the bare minimum of wood required, but with absolutly none of it showing. Unlike the Virginia, the Monitors hull was only a foot or two above the surface of the ocean. Centered on her hull was a two gun turret, complete with the ability to turn a complete circle. The guns in the turret were known as "Soda-Bottle guns" due to their unique shape, they were at that time the largest guns ever to be placed on a active ship.

Education System After The Revolution

Professor Hans Geiger co-inventor of the Geiger counter was shown this letter. In June of that year Geiger's close associates published an article describing a possible way to produce a chain reaction and a "uranium machine". Export of uranium was banned in Germany as a result of this article.
