Symposium: Eros And The Philosopher
.... attempt to explain the statement by further exploring the speech of Diotima as well as looking into the speech of Socrates in the Apology.
In order to answer the question of how the philosopher in Socratic ignorance is like the true lover, the terms that will be used need to be defined. For the purpose of this paper Socratic ignorance will be understood as knowing what one does not know or lack. Furthermore, the true lover will be defined as one who has reached the final step of Diotima's "Ladder of Love" ( 210A-212B) or has given birth to true virtue and nurtured it.
Eros, as said by Diotima, is the son of Poros and Penia .....

The Romantics
.... in a field. Wordsworth was terrific at putting words together.
All groups took their turn at writing narrative poetry, but among them, a first generation writer, Samuel Coleridge, definitely stands out. His "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" took extreme imagination and skill. Along with the nature described, he portrays "Death and Life- in- Death," a combination never before thought of by any of these groups of writers. Animals, the supernatural, and colors all stand out in this story, making the theme all the more obvious: nature is man's moral guide. This theme is repeated in most of the works by the first generation write .....

Cyrano De Bergerac
.... not proclaiming his love to her then was Cyrano's tragic flaw and he suffered tremendously because of it.
In this play Cyrano is also a hero. He is a hero because he helps many people including the baker and Christian. He helps the baker fight one hundred men in order to get into his house and he helps Christian by writing letters to Roxane and talking to Roxane for him. Cyrano also takes very little credit for the deeds he has done and this is another thing that makes him a hero.
"I Know that it will to today,
My own dearly beloved and my heart
Still so heavy with love I have not told,
And I die without telling .....

The Many Aspects Of Streets
.... activity the street has. When a street ends with only houses, as in a neighborhood, often the travelers on the road live there. Therefore, main streets and routes have much more activity because they lead to places. Each of these factors determines the form of a functioning street.
Streets also have uses and purposes, mostly for the local community. People build houses along streets so they develop into communities. Roads are used as gateways and help people communicate by enabling them to be in contact with one another. Streets mostly serve as a way of transportation for people to get from one place to another. The usefu .....

Thomas More's Ideal Society
.... Are those needs going to be put on a hold until farming was finished? Will ill people have to wait for a doctor until he has spare time to help? It seems that farming to provide food for the community is Moore’s main concern. However, if he was really concerned about the people, his society should not have farming as a higher priority than medical care. I feel that instead of having everyone farming, there should be a certain number of doctors, tailors, shoemakers, blacksmiths, etc., that is proportional to the population’s needs.
Furthermore, More also states that "children are brought up to do the same work as their .....

“Home Is”
.... care about you. I, myself, feel most comfortable with my family and friends. This is because there is an element that not every place, or everyone, has. That element is trust. Its as simple as that. I trust these people, therefore they are family. That means when I am around them, I feel at home. Home is where you feel comfortable, and you can’t be comfortable if you do not trust the people you are with. Some do not feel comfortable in their house, so their house is not a home. Maybe they are most comfortable in the outdoors. Some may not consider that a home, but if it is the place you feel the most comfortable, then i .....

The Stories Of A People
.... from ordinary time. The time sequence of myth takes place usually in; an other time, the time before the world came into being, long before there was man, or long ago in a far away galaxy. Because myths refer to strange times and places, and to gods and other supernatural beings, they have usually been seen as aspects of religion. In the following paragraphs I, Scott Huan, will briefly illustrate some of the most important/common aspects of myths. Such as the Creation of things myth, the Warning and betrayal myth, the all time popular Hero myths, the ever present myths about gods and Magical objects, and myths about what happens .....

.... by Philo and Josephus, be subjected to their own separate critical review before conclusions are made.
It must be remembered that Josephus, the primary source of information about the Essenes, wrote primarily for Greek and Roman audiences, and that he wrote approximately two hundred years after the founding of the sect. At this late date, it would be impossible for him to have first hand knowledge. Also, he himself "admits to having included more than one group of sectarians under the heading 'Essenes'."1 "It seems from the generalizations he made in his 'Fourth Philosophy', that he may have described several groups as one." .....

My Mother And Me
.... do not want to marry someone without money (comma) and you need an education to receive a good-paying job. Now days, some women are supporting themselves and their families because they got a higher education. It wasn't thought to be ethical to do that when my mother was in school.
When it comes to work, almost every teenager has a job these days; whereas, thirty-five years ago, the teenagers just had a good time living their childhood. My mother worked hard, but didn't get paid for any of her accomplishments. She worked around the house, (no comma) doing the dishes, the laundry, and taking care of her nephew; she grew up .....
