King Arthur
.... Arthur's strange birth and death and the concept of chivalry. Due to
the tremendous popularity of Geoffrey's book, authors like Robert Wace and
Chretien de Troyes continued on with the development of King Arthur and his
life, adding yet more detail and depth to the story. Robert Wace
concentrated on the Arthurian aspect of the story while Chretien
concentrated on the romantic aspect of Arthur's life. Some of the new
elements added include d the Round Table, courtly love and the love affair
between Lancelot and Guenevere. In 1205 A.D. Layamon wrote the first
English version of the King Arthur stories with a distinctly British

"Things Fall Apart" Vs. "The Second Coming"
.... that held us together and we have fallen apart. I
think that Achebe is trying to give William Butler Yeats some type of
recognition because in the beginning of the book, Achebe included a stanza
from the poem.
"The blood-dimmed tide is loosened, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned"
First of all, I think this means that once the white missionaries
interfere with their religion, it could encourage the whites to feel they
could do anything to their society and the people would not say anything.
For example, After the white missionaries introduced their religion, they
tried to introd .....

Analysis Of Good And Evil In "The Crucible"
.... ruins. La ter when she grows into power and influence, she
seems to enjoy sending these innocent peopl e their deaths. She takes
pleasure in her lies, and thrives on the attention and power that th ey
bring her. All these are the aspects of being the evil character. Power,
attention, and acts of w rongful doing. Therefore she can be labelled with
being the evil character in the novel. She uses evi l actions disguised as
good by admitting who was with the devil. Of course the people she accuses
a re actually innocent, but she has the ability to manipulate people into
believing that she is doin g good. This again is evil.

Regret Or Apology?
.... can dissipate another's anger.... Erich
Segal got it exactly wrong. Love doesn't mean never having to say you're
sorry. Love means being able to say you're sorry..., being strong enough
to admit you were at fault." Tannen boldly stated (109). I agree with her,
I don't think that saying you're sorry and admitting you were wrong makes
you weak at all. In my family I was taught that admitting that you were
wrong made you a stronger, better person. Not everyone was raised the same
way I was, in a household of nothing but women, so I guess that that is one
possible reason men may find it hard to admit guilt.
Why does it s .....

The Crucible
.... for the
scenes, when coupled with her movement, and manner. It was very noticeable
the way she could change the attributes of her character, as I mentioned
before (a girl to a tiger), just by the subtle change of various bodily
actions. This was accomplished by vocal changes, and different method of
walk, from a light dainty movement, to a fierce romping thump.
The play had four main sets, each one for each scene. It started out in
a small upper bedroom in the home of Reverend Parris, with a bed, for sick
Betty, a small night table, and a chair. Even with this small number of
physical props, the cast made very good .....

Compare & Contrast: "The Devil And Tom Walker" And "The Devil And Daniel Webster"
.... looking.
No man traveling ever stops at their house. His wife hides things, is mean,
and a loud-mouth. The story describes how Tom walked through the murky
swamp and how he met “Old Scratch” unlike “The Devil and Daniel Webster”
when all the story talks about is how his plow broke, how angry he was, and
by being angry called the Devil. “The Devil and Tom Walker” has a much
stronger development and really tries to place the reader in the story.
The appearance of the Devil's are different as well. In “The Devil and Tom
Walker” the Devil is ugly, has hooved feet, and looks like a dark-skinned
woodsman, while in “The Devil and Danie .....

Oedipus: King Of Riddles?
.... Oliver 2 Oedipus has the ability to comprehend the riddles, but
he won't allow himself to accept the truth. When Oedipus saved Thebes from
The Sphinx, he answered this difficult puzzle. The Sphinx demanded, What
creature is it that walks on four feet in the morning, on two at noon, and
on three in the evening? With his eminent mastery of riddles and having an
open mind, Oedipus replied, It is Man. As a child he crawls on four. When
he grows up he walks upright on his two feet, and in old age he leans on a
staff.1 This puzzle is far more complex than Tiresias's rudimentary riddles,
so Oedipus has the ability to solve the r .....

Martin Williams' Play: "Past Meridian"
.... him, therefore he was loyal to his
mother. All of these aspects define the character of Tennessee Williams.
Ernest Hemingway was a man who believes that he differs greatly from
Tennessee Williams, but comes to realize that they share a common battle.
Ernest Hemingway was depicted as a man who enjoys being a traditional man -
- drinking beer and relaxing as a male on this earth. On the other hand
Tennessee Williams is a very straight-laced and smooth-talking individual
who is not fond of beer. In contrast to Tennessee William's mother,
Ernest's mother was a mean and cruel woman. Ernest refers to Williams's
mother as a "b .....

Greek Myths
.... the princess Medea. Odysseus accepted help
from a simple sheep herder in order to reclaim his home. Although these
two heroes had similar adventures and shared similar qualities, they were
very different.
The first difference we notice between these two heroes is their
lineage. Like most Greek heroes, Jason was a direct descendant of the gods.
Odysseus on the other hand was not. He was a member of the Royal House of
Athens and not divine as were many of his peers and relatives. Odysseus
was also more compassionate than Jason. Jason used people to his own end
and then disregarded them. An example of this would be his .....

Oedipus Rex
.... we learn of Oedipus' anger as he
knocked a passerby at the meeting of the three highways; "I struck him in
my rage". Later, this passerby whom he angrily and quickly killed, was
revealed to be Laios, Oedipus' father. Oedipus' anger also quickly
shifted his judgement of Teiresias. "We are in your[Teiresias] hands.
There is no fairer duty", Oedipus' respect for Teiresias quickly changed as
Teiresias refused to tell of what was the trouble's cause. Oedipus began
claiming that "Creon has brought this decrepit fortune teller" to mean that
Teiresias was thought of as a traitor in Oedipus' thinking. Oedipus' anger
