Personal Writing: Fortunate To Be In America
.... I, being the youngest in my family, watched as both my
older brothers began working right out of high school. Thus, they also
have yet to utilize the endless resources that an education has to offer.
As I reflect on the past and examine the present, I focus more on my future.
Seeing first hand the tribulations my family has faced, I have gained an
undying determination to obtain that education that my parents and brothers
were not able to have. Along with determination, I have developed many
other strong attributes. It is with these values that I will be able to
attain my dreams and my goals.
The fact of the matter is that nei .....

Personal Writing: My Jungle Safari
.... danced on the nearby trees.
It made a swish as it flew through the air. When it hit the brush the
sword vibrated through my hand and the brush gave way to the knife and
allowed me to pass through.
A tiny light became clearer to me and I headed toward it. The bugs
became thicker and there were mosquitoes all around and it was getting
harder to take a breath without getting one in your mouth or up your nose.
Overhead there were monkeys talking back and forth about the intruders into
their world. I glanced up and saw one actually staring right at me. We
continued to stare at me until his screech broke the never-ending silence.

Personal Writing: My Room
.... my life, I keep the memories in my heart and they
show up in my room.
From a baby till now, my mind has held a lot on in. It has held
death and life, good and bad. It has gone through bliss and depression.
My floor too is holding a lot on it. There are piles of clothes all around,
and stuffed animals coming out of everywhere. Some say, how could I live
with a room like this? I simply reply, the same way I live my life, with
happiness and a focused mind.
Despite the different objects in my room, my room is very ordinary
on the outside. After you go past the outside, the inside is what makes it
mine. One would .....

Achilles Anophtheis (Achilles Revisited)
.... our
historian conjectured that it was of a type designed for recording the
human voice rather than music. Armed with this belief, we managed to
convince the Censor Society to allow us to reconstruct the primitive
machine to play back the message we hoped it would contain. They agreed;
on the condition that we did not do so until they had a chance to screen it
for the negative influences that caused the downfall of the last corrupt
civilization. They duly approved it and we are now ready for its first
public presentation.
"Before we begin, I would like to explain some of the terms used in the
recording, for those of you who .....

Advice I Often Receive From Parents
.... I know I did the work
as well as I could and it isn't a good mark, I don't worry about it as much
as some people might.
In conclusion, the piece of advice that I receive most often from my
parents is basically a good one, and often it keeps me motivated in the
things I do. It also shows me that my parents will support most of my
decisions and treat me like a responsible person. I believe that somewhere
along the line I will probably pass along the advice "as long as you did
your best" to my children.

Cow Lore
.... down. "You
are all people of war... and when we clash tomorrow, I want you to do what
you do best. I want you to destroy whoever gets in your way." Another round
of cheers exploded, then died down. "Tomorrow, milk will be released from
the confines of their bodies... it will flow through o'er the plains like a
river... and will dye the moon white!" He held up his large tankard of ale
to the ceiling. "We will show our true selves to The Great One In The
Sky... we will show our Lord, the mighty Black Angus, that we are worthy of
him! To YOU, my Lord!" Mike lowered his arm and swilled the remainder of
the ale. With the backward .....

as possible, smooth and flowing, for all the eyes he perceived to be on him.
He managed to execute the task to his satisfaction as he entered the staff
room above the restaurant, but only Karen was there, finishing a butt of
her own. He didn't give a shit about Karen and there was no one else
around.
He felt a frustration welling up inside that seemed incomprehensible.
He thrust himself into one of the tattered chairs which his employers had
so graciously donated to facilitate his comfort, and blew out a long strea .....

Creative Writing: The Murder Case
.... "Does the victim have a name?", asked Jack to no one in particular.
"The apartment was rented to a Reid Jennings," said one of the
uniformed officers. "The manager has identified the body."
Wally was interviewing a short, fat lady in a housedress just outside
the apartment door.
Over by the window was a bloody butcher knife with a wooden handle.
"Is that the murder weapon?", asked Jack.
"As far as we can tell, there was a struggle, the victim was stabbed,
and the perpetrator escaped out the front door," said the officer. "Nobody
saw or heard anything."
Wally entered the apartment. He was a you .....

Descriptive Essay Of Oppermans Pond
.... plump frog hidden amongst the underbrush, chirps of
birds high in the sky, and the soft wind as it rustles leaves on the trees.
The most amazing scene I have witnessed many times along this pond is the
ducks.
Every few days, I see a family of ducks traveling across the green
grass. The smallest duck, no more than 4 inches tall, would march proudly
near the end of the pack. I see sparse, thin clumps of down over his
otherwise bare self as he bellows, with his newborn duckling voice, a high
pitched quack. As my eyes follow the family towards the frond of the line,
the elder ducks appear covered with stiffened slick feather .....
