Black Ellk Spears
.... double and triple cast to accommodate for the many roles. This is a common occurrence in theater productions. I was not very impressed with the performances as different characters. It was difficult to distinguish one role from another. The Indians were dressed so similarly that it was difficult to tell them apart. When one Indian changed characters to a different Indian I often could not tell. Another problem was that names were not spoken out loud directly to the characters. This created mass confusion in my mind. I understood the stories, but I often had trouble deciding who the characters were. The directorial concept .....

The Apostle
.... a pillar of the community. However, the Apostle slowly loses everything he holds dear. He loses his wife to another man and loses his job at "his church". He then commits a heinous act which puts his wife's lover in the hospital and eventually kills him. Then he chooses the least honorable reaction as he skips town and telling only his closest friend of his whereabouts. The Apostle's conversion begins as soon as he begins to become accustomed to life without an adoring audience. Throughout the film, he is an honestly good and decent man around those he is closest to. However, when he would get around a crowd who would act out his .....

Macbeth: The Symbol Of Blood
.... Lady Macbeth starts this off when she asks the spirits to "make thick my blood,". What she is saying by this, is that she wants to make herself insensitive and remorseless for the deeds which she is about to commit. Lady Macbeth knows that the evidence of blood is a treacherous symbol, and knows it will deflect the guilt from her and Macbeth to the servants when she says "smear the sleepy grooms with blood.", and "If he do bleed, I'll gild the faces of the grooms withal, for it must seem their guilt." When Banquo states "and question this most bloody piece of work," and Ross says "is't known who did this more than bloody deed?" .....

A Street Car Named Desire: Blanche
.... Blanche is clearly not the shy and timid young lady she tries to be later in the story. Blanche then shows that she is also hung-up on herself by asking Stella if she looks okay. Stella tells her that she looks fine and Blanche’s response is “you’ve put on some weight, yes, you’re just as plump as a little partridge!” Here again Blanche is guilty of putting herself on a petistal and trying to make herself look better than her surroundings. Throughout the beginning of the play the reader is certain that Blanche is superficial, selfish, and too proud of herself. She is not grateful for what Stella and Stanley have done for her .....

Japanese Anime
.... or revile it, or simplify it as much as possible. And one minor difference between Japanese anime and general superhero comics like D.C. Comics or Marvel Comics, is that anime (commonly referred to as Manga is what comics are called in Japan. The word manga was coined by the artist Hokusai in 1815, usually translated to mean "irresponsible pictures") is usually the vision of a single writer (at most 2, generally). Unlike the general superhero type, where many writers tend to do different plots and stories, manga are more like novels, complete and detailed worlds that are the vision of a single author. The characters remain consis .....

Aaron And Brutus: The Irony Of Violence
.... with Titus returning to Rome after victoriously battling against the Goths. With him he brings Tamora and her three sons as political prisoners. He kills Tamora’s eldest son, offering him as a sacrifice to calm the spirits of his sons that were killed in battle. Even though Titus is originally encouraged to become emperor, he reserves this privilege for Saturninus, eldest son of the late emperor. Saturninus marries Tamora, and it is then that Tamora begins her plan to avenge the death of her eldest son, Alarbus.
At this point Aaron’s role becomes most effective. Of all the characters, Aaron is the most dramatically ev .....

Oedipus: Villain He Is
.... unknowing at the time. Even Creon tells him, "You cannot judge unless you know the facts" (1248). Creon tries to tell Oedipus to quit judging him because the facts, to Oedipus, were yet unknown. Another example of Oedipus habit of falsely accusing is a quote from Michael O'Brien, "Certain of Oedipus' past actions were fate-bound; but everything that he does on the stage from first to last he does as a free agent, often accusing others" (O'Brien, 23). This critic agrees with the fact that Oedipus has a very bad habit of accusing others before he knows the truth. Maybe if Oedipus were to accuse himself as fast as he accuses .....

.... be built. Ships traveling to India and Asia could stop at these ports. It was a perfect place for British ships because it was like a mid-point between the two places in which it was traveling. Ships could also replenish supplies such as food, clothes, men, etc. The British occupation of the land sparked a debate on whether the British should have access to South Africa. They only wanted it because it would make them stronger politically and economically. The British, however, stated that they were there to help the Natives. They told people who were against them that it was their duties to give the natives food, to give them educa .....

Tlevision: Behavior, Moral Values And Social Standards
.... got because school shootings are no longer a novelty. Do you wonder why these kids did what they did? It is because of the amount of violence that is now being shown all across the news.
In one weeks worth of time of watching the ten o’clock news, I have seen blood drenched war victims give A.B.C news anchors their last words before slipping into a coma. Five days ago, a neighborhood gang interrupted a high school student’s routine walk home by beating him to within an inch of his life. When he was asked if he would reveal the names of the assaulters, guess who was bedside with a camera to capture the swollen faced expression of .....
