The Marshall Plan
.... communism.
With sureness of purpose, some luck and a little convincing, these men persuaded Congress to help rescue Europe with $13.3 billion in economic assistance over three years. That sum--more than $100 billion in today's dollars, or about six times what America now spends annually on foreign aid--seems unthinkable today. The European Recovery Program, better known as the Marshall Plan, was an extraordinary act of strategic generosity. How a few policymakers persuaded their countrymen to pony up for the sake of others is a tale of low politics and high vision
Yet their achievement is recalled by many scholars as a hist .....

The Conquest Of The Aztec Empire
.... were. The major difficulty in studying wars is the fact that their accounts are generally recorded by the victors. The losers are usually not in a position to challenge the victors' accounts or even to plead their case. This is the situation we face when we study the Spanish conquest of Mexico. The majority of the material on this subject has been taken from the Spanish accounts, such as the True History of the Conquest of Mexico by Bernal Diaz del Castillo, and the Letters from Mexico by Hernando Cortes. This makes it difficult to get an objective view of this important historical event. For this reason, a testimony such .....

We are not a violent people but we will have to recognize that the rest of the world will want what we have. We can not let them take it. We may be the only country able to build nuclear weapons entirely with our own domestic materials. We are the only country that mines uranium 234, and that uranium is necessary to create the radioactive uranium 238 for nuclear warheads. Furthermore, with us having all this muscle the only way to take what we have is to destroy us. They will not do that unless they wish to destroy the only reso .....

The Arab's Responsibility For The Arab-Israel Conflict
.... Arab guerrillas attacked Jewish settlements. Jewish forces prevented seizure of most settlements, but Arab guerrillas, supported by the Trans-jordanian Arab Legion under the command of British officers, besieged Jerusalem. By April, Haganah, the principal Jewish military group, seized the offensive, scoring victories against the Arab Liberation Army in northern Palestine, Jaffa, and Jerusalem. During the 1950s there was considerable tension between Israel and Egypt, which, under President Nasser, had become a leader in the Arab world. His nationalization of the Suez Canal 1956 provided an opportunity for Israel with Britain and Fr .....

Bystanders Are The Real Criminal
.... these innocent victims resulted in the unnecessary deaths of thousands of Jews and this shows the guilt of the bystander. Also, another instance showing bystanders’ guilt occurred during World War II, when German bystanders did not act by still supporting their leader Adolf Hitler - or acting as if they did in an attempt to protect themselves from the government they elected. They supported Hitler by attending his rallies, serving in the German military and disclosing the locations of hidden Jews. If, perhaps, more bystanders acted, the German government would have collapsed and provided a resolution to the problem. By refusing .....

The Dropping Of The Atomic Bomb: Was It The Best Way To End The War?
.... with the atomic bomb for the first time, and they realized that they succeeded inventing the first atomic bomb. How was it a milestone? I will explain the mechanism and the power of the atomic bomb. Ronald Takaki explains the principle of it in his book. "There is an atom that releases two neutron at the same time absorbing the one, when a neutron causes a nuclear fission. Much uranium causes a chain reaction of such a nuclear fission, and huge energy is released."(26) The atomic bomb is the weapon that utilizes the energy. According to Takashi Hiraoka, the energy par one kilo ton of uranium corresponds to it par fifteen kg of TNT .....
