Black Supremacy
.... of his statement, repair what damage?
Any psychic damage which has been thrust upon the black race has not occurred
for quite some time: slavery...not in my lifetime nor separate bathrooms were
in my lifetime. And I am not about to feel sorry about what happened before my
time. Economic damage is not the white man's fault either. In this day anyone
can do whatever he/she likes. The truth to the economic matter is that many of
the "oppressed" races feel they now deserve a free ride. Absolutely no physical
damage has occurred in my lifetime. As for as cultural damage, cultures evolve,
they do not get damaged. Clearly all l .....

The Advantages Of Stupidity
.... many advantages to
stupidity.
The first advantage is very easy to understand. Stupid people are
never asked to do a lot. Many have noticed that people tend to steer away
from someone they feel may be stupid. This is for a very good reason.
The stupidity which they posses makes a name for themselves, a name which
can be very difficult to shake. Possibly, it is a word which describes
the working habits of the person, such as "crappy". Yet, this creates a
positive situation for the stupid person. They will have a lot of free
time on their hands for more of lifes truly meaningful pleasures. Some of
these activities are comb .....

Taoism
.... concepts as they apply to Taoism and Buddhism.
The goal in Taoism is to achieve tao, to find the way. Tao is the
ultimate reality, a presence that existed before the universe was formed
and which continues to guide the world and everything in it. Tao is
sometimes identified as the Mother, or the source of all things. That
source is not a god or a supreme being as with Christians, for Taoism is
not monotheistic. The focus is not to worship one god, but instead on
coming into harmony with tao. Tao is the essence of everything that is
right, and complications exist only because people choose to complicate
their own .....

Blind Conformity: Malcolm X
.... public is due to a disregarding of one'
s self-claimed morals and values, an over emphasis of the media and outside
opinions, and an insecurity which most of us unfortunately have.
In My First Conk, Malcolm X assured that black people were being
brainwashed to believe that they actually were inferior to white people, thus
they conked their hair. They were, essentially, giving up what they were
fighting for as far as civil rights- the right to be who they were and also be
accepted by society. Therefore, the conking of their hair was a hypocrisy and a
contradiction of all their morals and values. Blind conformity caused them .....

Third World Countries
.... policy. Starting in 1968 interested
Canadians including politicians, journalists, professors, business leaders,
financial experts, as well as church and labour leaders were invited to
offer opinions and advice in what was called the Trudeau Review. The
ending of this meeting brought about six foreign policy booklets which
outlined the benefits of Canadian foreign aid. Some of these benefits
included to help the Canadian economy grow stronger, to keep Canada
independent, to work for peace and security, to promote fairness and
equality for everyone and to improve living conditions for all people
throughout the world.

Women And The Fight For Reform
.... need for state laws to restrict child labor. Young children from poor
families had to work late hours in mines and mills and were exploited by
plant managers. No state laws prevented the children from being
overworked or abused.
One of the first to challenge the exploitation of orphaned or
dependent children was Sophie Loeb, a Jewish immigrant from Russia Once
her father was deceased, she watched the desperation of her mother as the
family slipped into poverty. As a journalist, Loeb campaigned for
window's pensions when this was still a new idea.
Helen Stuart Campbell, born in 1839 in New York, began her public

The Conflicts Of The Black Race: Delayed Economic And Educational Progress
.... black people.
Before the Civil Rights movement racism was so blatant that not knowing it
existed would have been difficult. Presently, it is so subtle that some argue
we cannot blame racism for our problems. Unfortunately, they are wrong. The
effects of racism can be seen in the segregation of our neighborhoods and in our
high unemployment rates. White people want to keep their contact with us to a
minimum. In 1991, USA Today reported that the 1990 census "concluded that 'the
majority of the nation's 30 million black people are as segregated now as they
were . . . in the '60s' " (Smith 104). This proves that although some b .....

Elements Of The Argument: "What Is Poverty?"
.... same.
She calls hot water a "luxury"(Parker 237). To those living in poverty hot
water is a luxury. The unimpoverished take it for granted and never before
considered it anything other than a basic possession. When the reader hears
that someone else calls it a luxury that they cannot afford, he or she can't
help but feel guilty for having it as a basic possession. Parker also attacks
the guilt of the reader through stories of her children. She knows that some
readers may not feel guilty for things that happen to her, but when children are
introduced to the situation they will feel more guilt. She says, "My children

Abilities Of People With Disabilities
.... This is possible because of the courts and the Equal Employment
Opportunity Commission wants to extend protections under the 1973 Rehabilitation
Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act to obese people. In December of 1993
a Federal Appeals Court ruled unanimously to uphold an order that required the
state of Rhode Island to pay $100,000 in damages to a 320-lb. woman for not
hiring her and then ordered that she be hired as an attendant at a mental
retardation facility. The EEOC said, "It is not necessary that a condition be
involuntary or immutable to be covered." In September of 1993, California's
Supreme Court ruled that .....

A Black Cloud
.... and the infamous
Skinheads are harsh reminders of hatred which exists throughout the world.
In the same way that prejudices of large groups of people are expressed,
hate crimes are committed to demonstrate acts of hatred. Most recent are the
burning of black churches across the South. A crime of this sort shows hatred
against the black race. Sometimes leading to manslaughter, racial tensions are
abundant. Furthermore, the burning of crosses or flags are offensive crimes
that are committed to show a person's hatred for religion or the government.
Spousal abuse, child abuse, homicide, and wars between races can only be a .....

Gang Violence
.... and to mark their turf.
"Everywhere you go you see graffiti." Professor Allen Walker Read of Columbia
University said, "The pen is mightier than the sword." Gangs in Parma are very
active with the pen. They "tag" their property buildings and houses everywhere.
Police want to know where all the parents are. Why aren't they doing anything
about this? Many people in Parma want to know the answer to the same questions.
Cincinnati also has active gangs. "Graffiti is a creeping problem in
every neighborhood and in and on public buildings" said Mayor Roxanne Qualls of
Cincinnati said. Graffiti is so bad that Star Bank has donat .....
