Women In The Labour Force December 17, 1992
.... affects their marriage and the care of their only child.
An observation of labour force participation rates in Canada show that
female rates rose a lot between 1971 and 1981, while the male rate rose
unnoticeably. The increase in the female participation rate was found in all
age groups except in older women. For women aged 15 to 19 the rate was as
almost as high as the men. But the largest increase was in the age group of 25-
44 years old, where the rate rose almost 50 percent. This meant that the
participation rates of the females had become more alike with the men.
Family status also influenced the female pa .....

Communism East Europe
.... The
Soviet model of communism was based on these ideals. All opposition
parties were banned although parties who were sympathetic to communism
and who shared the communist ideals were allowed. All power was
concentrated into the hands of the Communist party. Free press and civil
liberties were suppressed. Censorship and propaganda were widely used.
There was state ownership of the economy. No private enterprise was
allowed. There was a collectivisation of agriculture. The Communist Party
invaded and controlled every aspect of political, social, cultural and
economic life. It was a totalitarian state with complete Communist co .....

Women On The Street
.... and briefcase societies no less than in agricultural or hunting
and gathering societies, it is the organization of work that makes life in
communities possible. Individual life as well as social life is closely tied to
work. In wage labored societies, and perhaps in every other as well, much of an
individual's identity is tied to their job. For most people jobs are a
principal source of both independence and correctness to others. It should come
as no surprise that, in the work force or out, work and jobs are important in
the lives of homeless women.
There are women who want to work and do, and women who want to work an .....

Working Mothers
.... model is the one that is constantly referred to as “bad” because
it paints the woman as someone who does not really care about the effect of
working will have on the baby. In fact, most of these mothers have made this
choice with painstaking care. They are constantly feeling what everyone is
thinking, and this in turn causes undue stress on these mothers. The other model
of the working mom is the one most people think of when discussing working
mothers. This model is one of a woman having too many demands of her --
housewife, mother and paid employee - which may lead to role strain due to
fatigue and role overload. The compet .....

"Please Let Us Skate"
.... of my friends whenever we have the time to. There
has never been a time where we haven't been stopped and kicked out. This has
been very irritating for us and we still don't understand why we're not welcomed
at any parks, other than the answer we always get, "You might hurt someone".
Personally, I think the only people that are going to get hurt are the ones with
the skates, us.
Another big problem we Roller-bladers face here in Hong Kong is the fact
that we are not only rejected by society but also by other skaters, skate-
boarders. There are many places to skate here in Hong Kong and of those, 90
percent are dominated by local .....

European Studies
.... (3) This is unusual in the context of the Treaty of Rome which
provided for free trade and movement of resources. Agriculture was ill-
adapted for this approach. Protection was given, not only by customs
duties, but also by a variety of agricultural policies. This essay will
discuss the merits and demerits of a the pre-1992 CAP with its emphasis on
price reform, in comparison with the post-1992 CAP which was oriented to
structural reform.
It cannot be denied that there were merits of the pre-1992 price reform
policy. There was a bountiful food supply with an increased variety and
quantity of food. FarmerÆs yields incre .....

A Discussion On Animal Rights
.... American Sign Language or Ameslan. The Gardners and
others studied these chimpanzees, Washoe, Lucy, and Lana. These three
chimpanzees learned to use and could display a working vocabulary of 100 to 200
words. They also distinguished between different grammatical patterns and
syntaxes (Sagan 615). Besides distinguishing, the chimpanzees also inventively
constructed new words and phrases. For example, when Washoe first saw a duck
land on water, she gestured "water bird," which is the same phrase used in
English. Washoe invented that gesture for the occasion (Sagan 615). Lucy also
displayed her creative mind by signing "candy .....

Facism
.... is prior to and superior to the intellect or reason.
George Sorel, Friedrich Nietzsche, and Georg Hegal are main philosophers
who's beliefs and ideologies greatly influenced the shaping of Fascist
theory. Sorel (1847-1922) was a French social philosopher who had a major
influence on Mussolini. Sorel believed that societies naturally became
decadent and disorganized. This decay could only be slowed by the
leadership of idealists who were willing to use violence to obtain power.
Nietzsche (1844-1900) theorized that there were two moral codes: the
ruling class ( master morality) and the oppressed class (slave morality).

American Male Pigs
.... are more often than not, quite heavy. They are NOT desirable.
These are the women, who after you've been drinking heavily all night, at 2:00
A.M. still don't look good. You can see them lined up at the exit to every bar,
looking quite sad, lonely and pathetic at closing time, hoping and praying to
get lucky. Unfortunately this hefty flock is usually good in bed. Logic of
course would dictate that they would have to be, or else they know they would
NEVER get anything otherwise.
The other type of third class women that aren't usually identified until
it's too late, are the "FATAL ATTRACTION" type. They'll do anything you .....

Feminism And Gender Equality In The 1990's
.... with Daddy." A little girl who lives a lonely life with her mother,
divorced, an intellectual know-it-all psychologist, goes to the country to
spend a weekend with her father and his new wife, who is wholesome, happy,
and a good cook and gardener. And there is love and laughter and growing
flowers and hot clams and a gourmet cheese omelet and square dancing, and
she doesn't want to go home. But, pitying her poor mother typing away all
by herself in the lonesome apartment, she keeps her guilty secret that
from now on she will be living for the moments when she can escape to that
dream home in the country where they know .....

Answer America's Call
.... on a keyboard.
But to understand all of this new technology requires a great deal of
knowledge. Not just anyone can sit at a computer and make a country crumble.
It takes an intelligent person to even turn on a computer. No longer can
America turn to just anyone off the street to help the country. So with this in
mind, we strive to answer Americas call, education.
When forming the government, it was feared people would not be smart
enough to understand the rights and privileges granted to them; people now
should be as equally concerned. Not that the government will not survive, but
rather if it is going to prosper, .....

Baby Boomers Are Jealous
.... those between the ages 13 and 33 years of age.
We as a group have become the productive, interested, and hardworking
individuals that we are today. We have grown to realize that the future's
undiscovered country is awaiting our arrival, and is there for the taking.
It isn't at all ironic that during our short lives the world has seen so
many changes. Through the work of our generation and the reactions of the Baby
Boomers generation, we have helped turn this world into a new age of wisdom; a
cut-the-crap, truth seeking generation, both richer and poorer because of it.
Do not feel threatened, however, our future, our gene .....
