Gambling
.... so I decided to cash what I had out. The machine printed out a yellow ticket. I lost the rest of the credits and took the ticket up to the clerk and he told me that it was worth one dollar. I picked a scratch off and won ten dollars. This experience shows there is a difference between being eighteen and being twenty-one. If the machine will physically give you money, then you have to be twenty-one to play that machine. If the machine will give you a voucher or a redeemable ticket, then you only have to be eighteen to play it.

Pride
.... throughout the atmosphere. The feeling of pride is unexplainable, especially when felt through competition. But the feeling that is felt is absolutely unmistakable; one will never forget its’ ability to empower an individual.

Who's Right Is It Anyway?
.... to prevent suicide, is that nothing can be bad enough. Yet how do
they know this? They do not have to put up with the same stuff the suicide victim does everyday.
How could they possibly know what the potential suicide victim feels. Just as a severely burned
victim may wish to be allowed to die in peace, the suicide victim wishes the same. To die in
peace with no argument from others.
The argument of "look at the people you will hurt" also does not hold. Immediate family

Women’s Gender Role
.... they have obtained the same types of jobs as men, such as doctors, lawyers, and engineers. Unfortunately, women’s wages still don’t compare to men’s wages as they should. Often times, men are paid more money when they do the same job as women. Women are continuing their action to equalize themselves.

Gun Control And Freedom
.... the 80's, legislators must take stronger action than ever before to show that these crimes simply cannot be committed with impunity. Whether this requires tougher sentences for juveniles or simply better education, the fact remains that guns are the vehicles by which juveniles are venting their anger and frustration. Removing these vehicles may not necessarily mean the eradication of crime altogether, but it will at least cause the number of casualties to decline and make victim-causing violence all the more difficult. Importance Of Good Self-Esteem

Is Animal Testing Right?
.... evening news, and of course, it would be stopped. On a daily basis animal testing in the Proctor and Gamble laboratories does go on, and yet none of this is even mentioned on the evening news. It just continues.
Although many argue that animal testing is cruel and immoral, some people find good things about it. One of them may be that if they find a certain drug that prevents or cures a certain disease, it can be used to save lives. Safety In Institutions
.... The physical abuse of running up and down a hill, would surely lead to heat exaution, fainting spells or even in an extreme case death.

Conformity In Society
.... the social norms. The most apparent effect of conformity is shown in fashion and style. I ponder whether the majority of our population like the clothes they wear because they actually like them, not just because everybody else is wearing them. I find it hard to believe that 9 out of 10 people just have to own at least 12 articles of clothing sporting the Nike Swoosh, because it is that irresistible. I am not proclaiming myself a nonconformist, as I know conformity affects everybody’s life in one way or another. Success must also be sought after. For anyone to have success, they must fight and strive for it. If a secretary of a large corporation worked their way up the ladder through hard work and sacrifice, they would be a success.
