Oil Never Sleeps
.... All
of the safety gear is oil, the helmet, pads, shoes, lycra shorts, bottles,
even the wristwatch. The same applies to skateboarding.
At this point I look up and see thousands of gallons of oil in my
house. I'm surrounded by it. My sofas, phones, t.v., vcrs, planters,
catbox, computer system, picture frames, all of my product containers,
security system, bags, tapes, cameras, even the pen I'm using. I wear it,
put it in my mouth twice a day to clean my teeth, massage my head for
vanity with it, cover my eyes with it, talk to it, carry it in my pockets,
buy groceries with it, get cash with it, and walk with it on my fe .....

Armadillos
.... carrion. One specie called
the Peludo was clumsy bet was effective in getting a snake to its armored
hide and grinding the life out of it. It then eats the snake not effected
by the poison. The king of the tribe is the Great Armadillo. It is a big
creature in appearance, a yard in length from nose to tail covered with the
armor. It even has armor on its legs. Its claws are very long and awfully
strong. The Three- banded Armadillos had a further protection. They are
able to curl up like a hedgehog and present an impenetrable ball to an
enemy. It is similar than that of a hedgehog or the porcupine, but it is
more interest .....

Battle Chess

simulate a fight. The piece taken over the other will always win, but it
is still very interesting to watch. I think that this article helped me a
little. I am not really interested in chess games for the computer. I
feel that the article was written to the people who are interested in
computer games. The author of the article was from the publisher of the
company so he was trying to sell the game. I think that it sounds
interesting. If I had a friend that was interested in computer games I
would deffinately recommend it to him/her. It sounds like a cool program,
but since I am not too "into" chess I'll stick wit .....

History Of Castles
.... between the 10th and 12th centuries. Lords began to make their
castles more complex, and add a new aspect, comfort.
Between the 14th, and 16th century castles lost their importance. Partly
because of the formation of monarchy, and centralized government. But also
because of the development of gunpowder which made the fortifications
impractical. Many castles were remodeled to form more practical living
quarters. Some castles were unable to be remodled, and were sold simpley
for the value of the building materials.
Many castles still exist today. They serve as tourist attractions.
Some are even still inhabited, an .....

Extra-Terrestrial Civilizations
.... what he wrote, when he returned to New York he made up a story
about seeing men with flaps over there eyes to shield them form the
brightness which the Moon gave off. He told of rivers and lakes and green
everywhere, that story had made the Sun the best-selling newspaper for a
month, but was soon revoked when a famous astronomer noted no such thing as
life because of the "Airlessness" of the Moon.
After a few years, past the first man on the Moon, there was the first
launch to Mars to examine the possibility of life. The idea was that
because Mars was still in the Sun's Ecosphere and that it had ice caps
meant that there was .....

Clipper Ships
.... Later, McKay
would build another ship, known as Lightening for James Baines. The
Lightening would race the Red Jacket, a vessel built by George Thomas.
These two ships raced, and the Red Jacket logged 2,020 nautical miles in
six days.
These ships were once great. Now we have larger, stronger, and faster
ships. Once great clippers are now nothing but museum exhibits. The old let
to the new. Even on the ocean, this law follows.

Comparison/Contrast Of Fairfield College Prep School And Jesuit College Prep
.... age.
However, the environment of each school are very different. Jesuit
Prep provides a warm learning environment by vividly decorating each wall
throughout the school with paintings and works of art to share culture with
the student body. Fairfield Prep students must look at the usual drab
colors of an off-white based paint that showers the walls of each main
building. Each building of Fairfield contains hundreds of lockers, each
with a lock protecting each locker. Fairfield's padlock security scheme
does not exist within the Jesuit Prep community, as each locker is bare
with no locks or locking devices anywhere in sight .....

The First Flush Toilet
.... it for every bow- movement. The basic
mechanism was very simple--it was made of a float, a metal arm and a
siphonic action to empty the reservoir of water.
In the beginning of this method was not popular and the flush toilet
was given the name "Valveless Water Waste Prevented". The slogan used to
sell this product was "Certain Flush with easy Pull. Will Flush when only
Two-Thirds Full". Today, every toilet (or similar flushing thing) is based
on Tomas Crapper's original model.
This invention defiantly changed the world and made it a MUCH more
sanitary place! This breakthrough has unarguably saved thousands of l .....

Five Universe Creation Myths

Looking at the same sort of story written by very different cultures is
an interesting way to learn about different ways that people can and do
think. If one knows about different ways of thought, one can break out of
the shell of regu larity and do something different that is still a
reasonable, possible way of life.

Desertification

which are preventable.
Livestock, in many continents, overgrazes and flattens vegetation. Arid
areas, such as the Sahel ("Desertification was brought to the world's
attention by the Sahel disaster..."), the dry plains of India, and semi
deserts of Turkey can usually support a small number of people and their
livestock without permanent damage. The land often recovers when the
animals move on but when there are too many sheep, goats, and cattle
everything is eaten (including twigs and bark). When rain finally does fall
it is too late; trees, shrubs, and grass are all dead. Par .....

Dinosaurs

back. They also say that the Earth is four to six billion years old. They
say that fifty million years ago there was horses no bigger than dogs, and
birds as tall as man, three hundred million years ago giant dragon flies
buzzed around in the large forests, six million years ago small animals,
called trilobites, lived in the sea and were rulers of the world.
Evolutionists think that the world started off with just plants on it, then
came many- legged animals from the sea (walking fish) that took over. They
feel that a certain kind of fish evolved into the first four-footed animals.
After millions of years those an .....

Preserving Flowers
.... a temperature between
60<198> and 80<198> F and a humidity rate less than 60%. Another method is
to place the flowers in a container and to cover them with clean, fine sand,
or a mixture of borax and cornmeal, or a nonchlorophyll kitty litter. These
inexpensive substances provide the flowers with support, enabling them to
maintain their shape while they dry naturally.
A more costly method is to use an airtight container and to cover
the flowers with silica gel, a desiccant, which not only provides support
to the flowers but also removes moisture from them. Overall, the more
rapidly flowers dry, the less likely they are t .....
