The Horrors Of War
.... a leg. Another example was
when Kat was wounded by the bomb that went off while he was delivering
supplies to the men on the front. Kat could not even walk. Then while
Paul was taking him back to the First Aid center the man said, "He's stone
dead." Paul was so oblivious to what was going on that he simply replied,
"No, he's just fainted." When he looked at his hand and found a bullet
wound in the back of Kat's head he was so stunned that he could not even
think or see straight. In the real world people would leave their homes
cheerful young men and return tattered worn cripples. Men would return

The Lure Of Professional Leagues
.... but nothing like the athletes who are the
professional leagues. Look at Emmit Smith, the running back for the Dallas
Cowboys. A person cannot go into a mall in America where his jersey is not
sold. Both little children and some adults worship him. Professional
athletes are even making their own movies now. What other profession can a
nineteen or twenty year old be paid millions to play a game and have a
movie career on the side? The lure of this stardom usually takes the place
of finishing ones education.
Finally, the risk of injury plays a big factor in the athletes decision to
leave early. Every college athlete knows t .....

"The Religion That Fears Science Dishonors God And Commits Suicide"
.... words, they refuse to move on with their lives like the rest of the
world.
This quote might also be implying that maybe God created science
and evolution and therefore created the universe utilizing science. It is
plainly stated every day, "God works in mysterious ways," and therefore he
did not just want to make things appear like life forms and the universe
itself. Instead, he created them in unique, complicated ways like using
evolution. He also gave humans the ability to reason and learn so that we
could learn to support ourselves and not always rely on prayer and God's
mercy. We are, perhaps, an experiment in that we were .....

Nuclear Weapons Are A Threat To All
.... needed. This amount is known as
the critical mass. If the amount is too small it is known as a
subcritical mass. The critical mass of a material depends on its purity.
The materials used in making fission weapons are uranium and plutonium.
They are the only elements able to be used in making a fission weapon.
There are two different ways to make a fission weapon: the gun-type
method and the implosion method. In the gun-type method, two pieces of
material, each having a subcritical mass, are placed at opposite ends of a
metal cylinder. One of the pieces has a powerful, nonnuclear explosive
behind it that explodes on impact a .....

The Weapons Of War
.... The focus of this essay is not the wars that occurred during the
Renaissance. Rather, it is the implements of these wars. In any fight, a
man must be able to defend himself and be able to attack when the time is
right. In a battle or war, certain tools or devices are used in order to
gain an advantage. In the heat of battle, when thousands of men are
killing each other, an unarmed man is a dead man. During the Renaissance,
many new creative weapons and extravagant forms of armor were formed.
Although these creations did a lot for the science of war and made it much
easier for men and women (many innocent) to be slaughtered .....

Urban Legends And Folklore
.... if it is just I, but I get an adrenaline rush from hearing these
legends. Whether these legends are true or not, remains to be a mystery ‘
till this very day. Upon after hearing urban legends, I get this certain
feeling that I couldn't describe. My mind and heart are touched in ways you
couldn't imagine. I mean I get feelings of remorse, happiness, fear, and
doubtfulness. They always leave me wondering whether or not they are true.
You never know, the next thing that happens to you, could become the next
urban legend.

The Relationship Between Research Labs, Media, Government, And Industries
.... then refer to a New York
Times article, in which Nobel laureate James D. Watson, allegedly states
that “Judah will cure cancer in two years,” it turns out that this was
mearly an ovezealous reporter trying to get a big scoop. Either way, the
article fulfilled the equation. Dr. Folkman's office counted 1000 phone
calls a day for a week, and countless doctors were flooded with hopeful
cancer patients wanting “the cure.” The newspaper article also caused the
stocks and revenues of the sponsors of Dr. Folkman to soar, therefore
leaving more money for Dr. Folkman to recieve for further research. On the
further research side of the .....

St. Thomas Aquinas: Natural Law Theory; Just War Theory
.... War, based on Roman thought, is the traditional Roman Catholic
position on fighting a war. It lays down the criteria for fighting a war.
Just cause, declares, waged by legitimate political authority. War must be
started as last resort. Just methods must be used in war. Must expect
flourishing outcome of war. Results must be less evil that if war not
undertaken. Worriers must have just intentions. Finally, war must be
carried out as a path to better condition of peace.

How To Find A New Home
.... and dryer room. Other larger apartments can even have
a additional playground for younger children, basketball courts, tennis
courts, and even a gym. By living in an apartment you can take the
advantages of these benefits. Apartments are everywhere, so it's not hard
to find the one that accommodates you the best.
Condos aren't really considered an apartment, yet they look like,
and they can be. It's like a bigger, fancier apartment, and higher priced.
They are a bit more roomy, and can be one to two stories high. Having
two to four bedrooms, a living room, one to two bathrooms, and a kitchen,

Electrofishing As A Sampling Method
.... from 100V to over 1000V DC with amperage from 10-60A. Maximum
output power also varies from about 8Kw-70Kw. All backpack units offer the
ability to select different levels of output and some of the more costly
models offer different waveform selection to maximize the efficiency of
battery use. Some models may last only a couple of hours at a medial output
while others incorporate secondary batteries to provide longer periods of
use. Using high-energy pulses of electricity is often preferred to a
constant level of output, although intense pulses may be harmful to smaller
fishes.
Backpack electrofishing units can be somewhat cost .....

The Christian Coalition: A Small Grassroots Organization Or A Large Political Threat?
.... fluctuated, the CC's activities are well-financed, and it's followers
are well-organized.
Increasingly, they are the Republican Party's most reliable
supporters-what political strategists call "The Base".
The CC is interested in regaining the "traditional" values they
believe the US has lost. The CC of Georgia states, "In the past few years,
we have seen radical departure from the Judeo-Christian principals which
and are the foundation of our country and our government. Never in our
country's history have we seen such an all-out attack on religion,
Christian values and families. If we act now, we have a tremendou .....

The Latvian-Russian Relations
.... 8 years ago when Latvia along with two
other Baltic States, Estonia and Lithuania, regained their independence and
became free countries once again. The time goes by really fast, but even
though Latvia has a democratic form of government, now all of the post-
communism countries face more problems than ever. But if they overcome them,
there will be prosperity and the countries will reach economic independence.
People cannot forget their history; they have to learn to stand up for
their rights, which they were forbidden of for over a half of the century,
and the main thing, to effectively communicate. This is the one and o .....
