Prince Edward Island
.... expensive,
therefore manufacturing on P.E.I. has developed slowly. Manufacturing is
now the third most important economic activity.
THE PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND FLAG
The provincial flag, adopted in 1964, bears an adaption of the coat of
arms. ON the coat of arms, adopted in 1905, the british lion symbolizes
the province's ties with Great Britain. Three small oak trees represent
the three countries of P.E.I. The large oak tree stands for Canada and
Great Britain.
IMPORTANT DATES

join the dominion.

Mining In Space
.... brought their tools with them
and constructed their habitats from local materials. Hence, he suggested
that the solution to the dilemma to which he referred required not so
much a shift in technology as a shift in thinking. Space, he argued,
should be considered not as a vacuum, totally devoid of everything. Rather,
it should be regarded as an ocean, that is, a hostile environment but one
having resources. Among the resources of space, he suggested, are readily
available solar power and potential surface mines on the Moon and later
other celestial bodies as well.
The Moon, Maryniak stated, contains many useful materials. Moreover .....

Enduring, Endearing Nonsense
.... and loved the little handwritten manuscript he had
given to Alice Liddell. He expanded the story considerably and engaged
the services of John Tenniel, one of the best known artists in England, to
provide illustrations. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel
Through The Looking Glass were enthusiastically received in their own
time, and have since become landmarks in childrens' literature.
What makes these nonsense tales so durable? Aside from the immediate
appeal of the characters, their colourful language, and the sometimes
hilarious verse ("Twas brillig, and the slithy toves/did gyre and gimble
in the wabe:") the na .....

The Origin Of Humanity
.... is hypothesized to
be the human evolving.
Evolving from what though? The theory of evolution states that
creatures change overtime to suit their surroundings. This is called
environmental adaptation. The more a creature can adapt to it's
environment the greater chance it has of living and show an increase in
population called survival of the fittest. A theory developed by a
scientist nammed Charles Darwin who had conducted extensive research into
the environmental adaptions of animals, for example the adaptation of
the galapagos turtles from short neck to long neck so they could reach
their food. This theory helps to prove th .....

additives necesary for the production of borosilicate glass, calcination
and elaboration of the glass. These operations are carried out in a
metallic pot that is heated in an induction furnace. The vitrification of
one load of wastes comprises of the following stages. The first step is
'Feeding'. In this step the vitrification receives a constant flow of
mixture of wastes and of additives until it is 80% full of calcine. The

Satellites

other vital "organs", always critical with machines whose sunward side may
be 300 degress hotter than the shaded part.
Once a satellite achieves orbit--that delicate condition in which the pull
of earth's gravity is matched by the outward fling of the crafts speed--
subtle pressures make it go astray. Solar flares make the satellite go
out of orbit. Wisps of outer atmosphere drag its speed. Like strands of
spiderweb, gravity feilds of the earth, moon, and sun tug at the orbiting
spacefarer. Even the sunshine's soft caress exerts a gentle nudge. Should
a satellite begin to wander, ground crews .....

Violence In Schools
.... are making money to buy weapons. Gangs, since
they came around violence has been increasing steadily. The spread of
gangs and drugs has also been implicated in the increasing violence of
school youths(Glazer 14).
Experts have also said that most violent conflicts among school-
age children can be traced back to long-simmering disputes(Apfel 21).
Carrying guns and other weapons around schools is becoming more and more
popular all around the world. People think that carrying guns around
schools with them will make them cool or fit in with other people like
themselves. They're wrong. More and more people who are carrying guns

Tall Stories
.... their load and keep them stable. In general, the height of a
building should be six times its base, so, for a skyscraper 900-m tall,
you'd need a base of 150 square m.
That much space is hard to come by in, say, downtown Toronto, forcing
you to look for an undeveloped area, perhaps the Don Valley ravine, next
to the Science Centre. Bear in mind though that the Don Valley is overlain
by loose sand and silt, and tall buildings must stand on firm ground, or
else risk the fate of edifices like the Empress Hotel in Victoria. This
grand dowager, completed in 1908, long before the science of soil
mechanics, has since found herself .....

Stages Of Change Model
.... a person tries to stabilize the behavior change and prevent
relapse. Termination is the final stage, this occurs when there is zero
temptation to revert back to the old behavior. Now the author uses these
six stages to relate it to dietary habits and how people can use this
process in their lives and make them become aware how to fix their dietary
problems and even problems beyond that.
In this article the author says, and I quote ^ÓThis model may be
useful for nutrition and health professionals in both clinical and
community settings.
It can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of an educational
intervention. As a res .....

because a girl who is not amazingly skinny for a model, the company won't
sell anything? Well I can't exactly describe the clothes they wear, but I
have never run across a person wearing the same thing. But in Seventeen
they have a section called "School Zone" and they go around different
schools and take pictures of the students. I can understand the way they
dress and they do show different looks.
Both magazines put out information about bands, but I don't listen
to those bands. As a matter of fact, I hate those bands .....

Unidentified Flying Objects: Fact Or Fiction?
.... our primitive forebears thereby creating modern man. The second is
quite similar. Aliens performed genetic engineering on apes thereby
creating the Homo Sapiens and man's intelligence. The third, and least
accepted, is that colonists from another galaxy came to Earth, mated with
the primitives and established a high level of culture, before being
destroyed by some natural catastrophe. And upon this catastrophe and
destruction, we build and grow (Fitzgerald 1). Berossus, a Babylonian
scholar, may have been the first astronaut historian. He said that "
animals endowed with reason" bestowed the Sumerian culture before 3 .....

Making Sense Of The Plagues: The Education Of Pharaoh

4) Mosheh's staff is used in some of the plagues - but not all (it is only used
in the plagues of blood, frogs, lice, hail and locusts).
Our first simple and straightforward question is: Is there any rhyme or reason
to the plagues and their attendant warnings which would explain these apparent
inconsistencies?
