Snowboards
.... dubbed the "Snurfer",
a mix with snow and surfer, because of its no-binding surf style of riding.
Another pioneer was Dimitrije Milovich, a surfer from the east coast. He
made his invention because of the lack of warm water in the winter. This
board also had no bindings, to stick with the surf philosophy, but it
included iron edges. In the early seventies Milovich began limited
production of these custom boards. Also in 1972, Bob Webber received a
patent for his "SkiBoard," another board directly from the surf idea.
In 1975, Dimitrije Milovich developed the Winterstick, a historic brand
famous for the first videos of snowboards be .....

Being A Dancer
.... with elite leadership. Likewise, leadership is necessary to
ensure that a team's accomplishments are not misguided, inadequate, or
fruitless. I believe a dancer is someone who is generally admired. They
are looked upon as people who strive for perfection. Anyone devoted to an
athletic ambition works incredibly hard to maintain their bodies so that
they can perform to the best of their abilities. Friends and family look
up to me because I have worked so hard to be a better dancer. The balance
between teamwork and leadership is crucial to attaining proud success.
I have to take care of my body to be a dancer and through t .....

Cigarettes: The History
.... the Chester Company would cause cancer in mice. All of the
studies that had taken place were kept as a secret and did not go outside
of company walls, although if the studies had proven to be negative
Liggett & Myers would have launched a massive advertising campaign
revealing the results of the test. And stating those Liggett & Myers
products’ did not promote cancer in any way. In 1955 Ligget & Myers after
completing the test found that thier cigarettes caused tumors in mice as
well as brand X did, which was used by Dr. Wynder, who was hired to do the
experiment by Liggett & Myers. Once complete a stamp was placed on the

The Safety Training Program
.... training. The first line
supervisor shows the employee how to do a job once, watches while the
employee does the job once and then leaves. The employee should be shown
more than once how to perform a job and an experienced worker should be
assigned to new employees for a few days. The experienced worker will
ensure that the new employee is doing the job properly and safely. The
OJT program should include an initial training program for all employees.
The initial safety training should identify potential safety hazards and
also review past injuries. Safe and unsafe acts should be discussed and
demonstrated. All employee .....

King Tuts Tomb. But he knew that he could not do it alone. So he found a
wealthy man named Carnarvon. For five years they dug searching for the
young Pharaoh’s Tomb. On November 4th, 1922 Carter’s work men discovered a
step carved into a rock. They found fifteen more leading to an ancient
doorway that appeared to still be sealed. On the doorway was the name
Tutankhamen.2
When Carter arrived home that night his servant met him at the door
and he was said to have yellow feathers in his hand that had come from the
canary that Carnarvon had brought along to lead them to the tomb. Carters

Three Types Of Approaches That Players Have Toward Practice
.... player does care enough about
their reputation to try his or her best, but only in the games. Practice
is just a place to be after school. When a coach is talking he or she will
only hear what they want to. A half-ass player may be good enough to make
a considerable difference in a game, but does not believe so, so they do
not care if the game is won or lost.
The ideal player for a coach is the Go-getter. This type of player
is giving 110 percent in everything he or she does. This player really
does put himself in a game situation during practice. He or she cares
deeply if the team wins or loses. This player will encourag .....

The History Of Basketball
.... the alterations of the rules and new team and player styles that give
athletes of all shapes and sizes an equal opportunity to play and excel.
There were many early changes in the sport of basketball to keep
the game safe. A quickly abolished rule was the use of a cage encircling
the court to keep the ball from landing among fans. A one-and-one free-
throw rule is added to award a bonus shot after each foul. The result is a
soaring increase in scoring averages and shooting percentages. Players were
going to the free-throw line too often from the abundance of fouls which
resulted in drawn out games and bored fans. In an attempt t .....

What Is Color?
.... such as aqua and purple. (Challoner,40)
Why do we see the grass as green in color? Why do we not see the
grass as blue or any other color? Actually, when the visible light hits a
pigment only some colors are reflected back to the eye. (Encarta) Which
colors are reflected and absorbed vary with the different pigments in the
object. Grass is green because all the other colors in the visible
spectrum are absorbed, and green is reflected back to our eyes. If blue
was reflected back to our eyes instead of green then the grass would appear
to be blue. The same rule applies with all other colors of the spectrum

The Lottery
.... than to win the
lottery.(Issues of Gambling) The odds always sound better on television.
That’s because state lotteries are exempt from Federal Trade Commission
truth-in-advertising standards.(Reno 1) This means that state lotteries
are allowed to advertise whatever they want without fear of prosecution. So
if any one ever wished to pursue action against the lottery they would
have to take their case through a civil court which would require using
their own money and they themselves would be tied up in courts for years.
Most people do not have the money or the time to pursue justice in the case
of false lottery claims.

The Arena Football League
.... put
their heads together and find what they need to get their league above
water. If they get more publicity and a consequently larger fan base they
will be able to expand. Again bluntly, expansion leads to money.
The game-play format of the AFL is at the completely opposite end
of the sporting spectrum of that of the NFL. The field is 50 yards long, 4
downs is all you get to cross mid-field and the field goals are suspended
above the back of the endzone. The game is more high scoring, they do try
to make it more exciting but scoring every 1 minute 30 seconds tends to get
a bit boring. They all play on Astroturf. Hense “Aren .....

Bias In The WNBA
.... One of the major areas
of such biases are in the salaries of the women in the WNBA and the men in
the NBA. There is not the turnout of fans for the women's basketball
games as there are for the men's games which has a lot to do with it but
the differences are staggering and unbelievable. For instance a rookie for
the men's NBA has an average salary of $2.6 million dollars per year,
while a WNBA player has an average salary of between $35,000 and $50,000
per year. Some of the other differences are as follows:
WBNA NBA
AVERAGE SALARIES: $35-$50,000 $2.4-$2.6 million
ATTENDANCE PER GAME: 9,391 17,077
GAMES PER SEASON: .....
