Raising The Minimum Age For A Driving License: Necessary Or Useless?
.... age for a driving license has been raised and reduced but the
amount of deaths on the road has only increased. Until this epidemic is
stopped this debate will probably exist.

The Caning Punishment Issue
.... better. This would also make a very big
impression on me. If I knew I could get a very bad lashing for doing
something wrong, I would not do it. With the growing crime rate some
different actions have to be taken. What we are doing now is not working
very well. Corporeal punishment seems like a good place to start. It is
a deterrent step which we could take without expanding the use of the death
penalty.
Corporeal punishment instituted to a limited degree, not to the
level they have in Singapore, would lower crime. Singapore has a $316 fine
for chewing gum which is wrong and to the extreme for such a small crime .....

The Death Punishment
.... this has occurred; however, given the lengthy appeals
process, all but few ultimately die, innocent or guilty. The above
statistic applies to all crimes, from theft to kidnaping. Should no one
be punished because of shortcomings in the judicial system? Obviously,
society could not function within a system devoid of law enforcement,
because where there is no law, there is chaos.
Some argue that death is too good for capital offenders. This position
favors inhumane and unlawful disciplinary actions like torture and life
imprisonment. Though some think it not harsh enough, the death penalty
delivers justice quickly and effec .....

The Communication Decency Act: The Fight For Freedom Of Speech On The Internet
.... under the age of 18. These works of
art and many other museum pictures would not be available. The bill says these
sites show indecent pictures.
The next part of the CDA has everybody in a big legal fit. We, concerned
Internet users, took the writers of this bill to court, and we won.
This part of the bill states: "Whoever....makes, creates, or
solicits...........any comment, request, suggestion, proposal, image, or other
communication which is obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, or indecent.......with
intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass another person......by means of an
Internet page..........shall be fined $250,00 .....

The Legalization Of Marijuana For All Purposes
.... of
a higher quality because of the strength of the fibers.1
Marijuana is the most widely used illegal drug in Canada. Four million
Canadians have used marijuana, including 1.4 million teenagers.2 The large
number of users can probably be explained by the drugs relatively low cost
and light criminal consequences for dealing it; when compared with other
drugs. Since 1969 about half a million people have been convicted for
possession and use of the drug3. The Canadian government spends $100
million a year enforcing drug laws.4
The criminalization of marijuana does not prevent people from using it, in
fact it makes the problem .....

The Young Offender's Act: The Past, Present, And Future
.... was the predecessor of the Young
Offenders Act. It was adopted in 1908 by the federal government. Its
purpose was to change the old system of trying children as adults and
holding them over for as long as the crown wanted to. They then decided to
treat the children as "misguided" ones, instead of criminals. Although
good intentions were meant in the act, there were extremely few guidelines
and the kids were given a variety of punishments for one offense. There
was little fairness in the end and they ended up being treated like adults.
During the 1960's, the child-saving movement began and there was a
constant demand for the J .....

How To Get Of Ticket For Running A Red Light
.... you approaching him and exactly what he could see. (Which
traffic lights were visible to him, how far down the road he could see
etc.) Make a reasonable measurement of the width of the intersection.
You do not have to prove yourself innocent….the officer must prove
you are guilty. If you can prove that there is a reasonable doubt in the
evidence he is giving, you will be found not guilty. That is all you can do.
Try to cause a reasonable doubt.
You have to be prepared! Run over the calculations in your mind so
that when he gives his evidence you will have a rough idea of the distance
you will have traveled at that .....

The Death Penalty: For The Common Good
.... the most despicable. It is because we value
human life so much that we put such a terrible consequence for taking it.
One argument states that the death penalty does not deter people
from murdering. To abolish capital punishment on this basis would be way
off base. You would also have to get rid of prisons because they do not
keep people from committing crimes also. Texas A&M University collected
data and the results are horrifying. In 1960 there were 56 executions and
9,140 murders. In 1964 there were 15 executions and 9, 250 murders. In
1969 there were no executions and 14,590 murders. Seven more years without

Prohibition
.... any intoxicating liquors. This was controversial because it turned
the common hard working man or woman, who enjoyed a drink after a hard
day's work, into a criminal in the law's eyes. In The History of
Prohibiton, a web site by J. McGrew, it states that Prohibiton also gave
criminals, such as Al Capone, the opportunity to feed off the illegal
substance. The organized crime circuit ate up Prohibition and began to boot
leg alcohol. Local pharmacies and basements near the border became hubs for
the transactions. The "Big Bosses" would purchase it in Canada, where it
was legal and import it to the US. A prime example of the organ .....

The Problems Of Drinking And Driving
.... and often. This is unfortunately not always
so. Today, only one in every three parents has given their children a clear
"no use" message about alcohol. (www.madd.org) Contrary to popular belief
and hope, the problem is not just going away. Alcohol use still remains the
number one problem among young people. (www.netmediapro.com/add) To some
degree, this is as much the responsibility of the parents as it is the
children's. Many parents have simply thrown in the towel and have tried to
compromise with their children, saying it's all right to drink as long as
they don't drive. They don't seem to understand that you can't make a goo .....

Psilocybin Mushrooms As Hallucinogens
.... there are effects that are a little more serious than
taking psilocybin in a small amount. These effects are things such as
open-eye visual effects, lights gain auras, star-pattern effects,
rainbowing around lighting, increased peripheral vision, sometimes either
increased or decreased ability to focus, and other "visions". These are
very typical effects of a hallucinogen. These desired effects can sometimes
cause long term brain damage if used to much. At a medium or high dose
level the effects can be seriously harmful in the long-run. However, the
dosage does not always have to be large. Psilocybin causes different

The Social Plague Of Crime And Criminals
.... is the justice view. The second is the rehabilitative view. The final
is a combination of the first two views called the integrated view. All of
these perspectives contain very different thoughts about conjugal visits to
prisoners. Before I discuss each one, there are certain statistics about
forced sexual encounters in prison settings to keep in mind. According to “
An anonymous survey of 1,800 men and women in a Midwestern state prison
system revealed that 104 of 516 respondents (20%) had been pressured or
forced at least once to have sexual contact against their will while
incarcerated. Most targets rated the immediate lo .....
