Euthanasia
.... if someone
is in pain, that pain could make them mentally stronger than if they give up and
take the easy way out. Life is pain, everyone goes through pain in their lives,
but most stick it out to the end, not giving up taking the easy way out. As
long as a person still is able to know what is happening around them and can
interact with the world around them it should be illegal for doctors to aid in
their suicide.
"Some say that doctor-aided death is widespread already, only covertly,
and that the Netherlands is a model of how to establish the right to die by
bringing the practice out in the open, where the medical and .....

Euthanasia: The Right To Die
.... Michigan,
Gov. Engler signed an anti-suicide law in late February that made doctor-
assisted suicides a felony. During the 21-month trial period of the new law
anyone assisting in a suicide can be sentenced to up to four years in prison and
fined more than $2,000 (Reuters, 1993).
With the passing of this law I thought that most people would be against
the right-to-die, not so. In a poll cited in a 1991 issue of USA Today eighty
percent of Americans think sometimes there are circumstances when a patient
should be allowed to die, compared to only fifteen percent think doctors and
nurses should always do everything possible to sav .....

Euthanasia In Today's Society
.... of there loved ones begging them not to go on with the
procedure. They want the attempt to fail. The second type of euthanasia involve
people who are suffering from an illness that makes them unable to communicate
(Johanson 2). These type of people are those who are in comas, paralyzed, or
simply so sick that they cannot make meaningful sounds or other communication
(Johanson 2). This is a much more accepted type of euthanasia. Especially in
the Netherlands where Euthanasia is more common then the United States. There
are two sides to attack this issue from. One being from the view of the
Catholic Church and the other fro .....

Is Euthanasia Immoral?
.... and give them medication to dull their pain.
Instructors tell doctors in training to treat dying patients as people "
that are alive but just that their death is more imminent than our own"(Moroney
2).
Many families could rest easy that their relative is being treated well
and are receiving the necessary attention. A lot of terminal patients decide to
sign DNR forms or request euthanasia so that they would not be a burden on their
families. Euthanasia should be legalized in all of the United States because it
would end much suffering and pain.
Euthanasia is the justified killing or assisted killing of .....

Suicide In Our Society
.... basis and not
have suicide be a word that is whispered but never spoken.
The myth that those who talk about suicide will never actually go
through with it is completely false. Most people who do kill themselves give
some sort of clue before doing so. It may be something very subtle such as “I
wonder where my father keeps his gun” or they might just come right out and say “
I would rather die then go on living this way.” What ever it is everyone should
know how to recognize when someone is feeling suicidal and get help to them
right away. Suicide can be prevented if noticed at an early enough stage.
Suicidal feelings can .....

Euthanasia: Precious Life
.... person.
It is important to be clear about the deliberate and intentional aspect
of the killing. If a hopeless person is given an injection of the wrong drug by
mistake and this causes his/her death, this is wrongful killing but not
euthanasia. The killing cannot be the result of an accident. In addition, if
the person is given an injection of a drug that is believed to be necessary to
treat their disease or better their condition and the person dies as a result,
then this is neither wrongful killing nor euthanasia. The intention was to make
the patient well, not kill them.
Every human being has a natural inclination to cont .....

Teenage Suicide
.... having make an attempt
themselves.
The above two examples indicates that it is very important for parents,
counselors, or different institutions to become aware of the reasons and
symptons of teenage suicide and to find out possible preventive procedures.
Recently, an examination of suicide rates among Black and White adolescents from
1986 to 1991 was made. It showed that suicide rate among girls of all
ethnicities remained stable. Also, the rate for White boys were pretty much
stabilized; however, the rate for Black and other minority boys increased
significantly. Those increases were more rapid in areas where suicide rates

Euthanasia - Immoral Or Human Right?
.... on the ones that care for him, his
lived ones, forever. It can also be mentioned that the life quality of a
terminally ill patient, gets reduced a lot. Never being able to walk again,
never being able to talk to your children again, never being able to go
shopping, swimming, playing, driving etc. must be terrible for anyone. The
whole situation only gets worse, if the patient himself, can see that his
condition is worsening, and only time keeps his thoughts clear. A third
very important point, is pain. If people see a deer, which had been hit by
a car, and is in terrible pain, they will kill it, out of pitty. Why
shouldn't t .....

.... and leaves it on the bedside for that person to take, and
a person who helps the patient to drink it or who administers it directly
at the request of a dying person who is unable to take it personally? Is
there, in short, a real distinction between killing and letting die? Well,
this is the difference between passive and active euthanasia, and if you
believe in euthanasia, you must decide which one is correct or even accept
both to be correct depending upon the situation.
We must carefully think through a number of conceptual issues. What is
a person? What is death? How does the difference between active and
passive functi .....

Euthanasia
.... The concern to die
well is as old as humanity itself, for the questions surrounding death
belong to the essence of being human.
All people die, but apparently only people know they are to die. They
live with the truth that life is under the sentence of death. Thus, from
the "beginning of the species concern with how one dies has been an
implicit part of the human attempt to come to terms with death." (Paul D.
Simmons, 112) There is still a question involved in the contemporary
debates about euthanasia which is posed by a case such as the terminally
ill who are dying. The issue concerns the morality of mercy in aiding the

Euthanasia
.... the helpless but powerful, the light will soon burn out. There will be
no energy in the world. Euthanasia and doctor-assisted suicide should not
be accepted or allowed by the government and people of the United States.
Statistics show that seventy-three percent of the U.S. population
approved of some form of euthanasia. This is used constantly in debates to
pass laws for making euthanasia legal. But the people are deceived by this
number. When the poll was taken, the people were asked if they approved of
"some form" of euthanasia. There are two forms of euthanasia, active and
passive. It is the passive euthanasia that ma .....

When Is Now? Euthanasia And Morality
.... (James Rachel's The
Morality of Euthanasia)
The experience of Stewart Alsop, a respected journalist, who died in
1975 of a rare form of cancer gave an example on the morality of euthanasia.
Before he died, he wrote movingly of his experiences with another terminal
patient. Although he had not thought much about euthanasia before, he came
to approve of it after sharing a room with Jack. While growing up, each of
us learns a large number of rules of conduct. Which rules we learn will
depend on the kind of society we live in and the parents and the friends we
have. We may learn to be honest, to be loyal, and to work h .....
