Euthanasia Is Religious, Medically, And Legally Wrong

it,the ballot was defeated by fifty-four to forty-six percent, and euthanasia
remains illegal in Noth America. In addition to violating civil law, euthanasia
also contradicts the laws of many religions of the world. It is God who
controlls life and death. Man will take this responsibility if euthanasia is
permitted. It is stated in the ten commandments,"Do not commit murder". Murder
can take many forms, one of which is suicide, the taking of one's own life. This
is forbidden by the Christian religion. There is a picture on my grand-mothers

Euthanasia: People Should Have The Right To Choose
.... euthanasia because in this case you actually kill the person rather
than letting them die. But both methods are used for the same end which is
to end someone's life without further pain for the patient as well as for
the family. The only choice to make after this fact is established is
which of these means better carries out the end. James Rachels, a
philosophy professor, says that, "if one simply withholds treatment [in the
way of passive euthanasia], it may take the patient longer to die, and so
he may suffer more than he would if more direct action were taken and a
lethal injection given." (Rachels, p.111) This de .....

Euthanasia: The Right To Die
.... was only going to get worse, and eventually,
after the pain and suffering, would result in death, Sue wanted to die. She
wanted people to remember her as a lively healthy woman, not just a body
lying helpless in a hospital bed. With that thought in mind, Sue went to
court to fight for right to die by euthanasia. The courts did not agree
with her though.
Dr. Jack Kevorkian, proposed the creation of a new medical specialist, the
"obitiarist," who would assist terminally ill patients to take their own
lives, subject to strict guidelines.
His patient also suffered from Lou Gehrig's disease. She was in bad shape,

Suicide Solution
.... people who want to prevent
suicide, is that nothing can be bad enough. Yet how do they know this? They
do not have to put up with the same stuff the suicide victim does everyday.
How could they possibly know what the potential suicide victim feels. Just
as a severely burned victim may wish to be allowed to die in peace, the
suicide victim wishes the same. To die in peace with no argument from
others.
The argument of "look at the people you will hurt" also does not
hold. Imidiate family members will be the only ones to suffer any great
pain. Friends will go on with thier lives and in time forget about the
death. Imid .....

her through this trying period in her life, and found out it was partly
because of her French exchange student boyfriend. They weren't broken up,
but he had to go back to France, and she couldn't see him as much as she
would have liked to. Her mother started taking her to a psychiatrist to
help her through her depression. If we hadn't have done this she might not
be with us today. Now, she has a fairly normal life. She has a job at Amy's
Ice Cream which required her to design an art piece in order to get the job.
Of course she was hired since she's so talented, and she draws and paints

The Problem Of Suicide
.... started
at the death of Beatles star John Lennon. After the singer's death
numerous fans formed suicide pacts and many teenagers died. Authorities
were at a loss for what to do. Eventually the problem died out.
Parents who point the finger at others should examine their own
lives. Teenagers like these usually come from houses with neglect, abuse
an alcoholic or other problems. Despite what most teens would say,
everyone needs a little bit of attention. In my opinion there is no way
music alone can force a suicide. There have to be other factors involved.
Maybe problems like these wouldn't arise if we could better

The Ethics Of Euthanasia

immoral and illegal.
Organizations supporting the legalization of voluntary euthanasia
were established in Great Britain in 1935 and in the United States in 1938.
They have gained some public support, but so far they have been unable to
achieve their goal in either nation. In the last few decades, Western laws
against passive and voluntary euthanasia have slowly been eased, although
serious moral and legal questions still exist.
Critics point to the so-called euthanasia committees in Nazi
Germany that were empowered to condemn and execute anyone found to be a
burden to the state. This instance of abuse of the p .....

Euthanasia

with the pain than the actual victim does. The families would like to ease
their own pain along with the victim's pain. It is not inhuman to keep
someone alive as long as humanly possible. If a cure is found, then the
victim could possibly go on to live a long life. It would be inhuman to not
let the victim have the chance to live the rest of his life. A human life
is the most beautiful thing on the face of the earth or anywhere, and
people should be given a chance to experience the beauty as long as
possible.
Some people want to die for one reason or another. These people go

Death Can Come Too Late: Active And Passive Euthanasia
.... different? Examine
the following case:
Perry L. was a nineteen-year-old who played in a local band, loved
the outdoors, and planned to become a doctor. One night in 1989 while
driving a skidoo he ran headlong into a tree. Perry no longer has any
cognitive abilities, he does not recognize anyone that he once knew, he
cannot communicate in any way, and he has no meaningful control over his
body or its functions. Perry will never recover any of his lost abilities
and he will never leave the hospital. His family has been impacted in ways
no one could have foreseen; his parents have divorced as a direct result of

Euthanasia And The First Amendment
.... Hall is dying of AIDS and challenged the
State of Florida to let him die by a self-administered lethal injection
without fear of prosecution”(http://www.rights.org/ deathnet/open.html).
On January 31, 1997, a Judge ruled that Charles Hall could take his own
life with the aid of a doctor. Senior Judge S. Joseph Davis, brought in
from Seminole County, “found that Florida's strict privacy law and the
equal protection clause in the U.S. Constitution entitled Hall, 35, and Dr.
McIver to carry out an assisted death without fear of prosecution” (Sun-
Sentinel, 1A). On February 11, 1997, Charles Hall's ruling was overturned

The Case For Euthanasia: Should Physician-Assisted Suicide Be Legalized?
.... euthanasia involves the patient's refusal of medical
assistance. It involves the right to die which is protected by the United
States Constitution clauses of due process liberty and the right to privacy
(Fourteenth Amendment). The right to doctor-assisted suicide, or active
euthanasia, consists of, "...a patient's right to authorize a physician to
perform an act that intentionally results in the patient's death, without
the physician's being held civilly or criminally liable for having caused
the death" . The "passive" form of euthanasia was first deemed legal by the
New Jersey State Supreme Court in 1976 In re Quinlan . In the Qu .....
