Pro Choice: Letter To The Editor
.... take our lives.. And with it, our freedom.
Explanation
This letter to the editor is liberal in style. The idea of giving a woman a
choice to an abortion is protecting the rights of an individual is liberal. Also,
if we use the idea of pregnant women being a minority, this letter also protects
the rights of the minority, which is a liberal idea as well.

Abortion: Life Or Death Ä Who Chooses?
.... passion to overide their knowledge,
can deny it: only those who are irrational or ignorant of science, doubt that
when a human sperm fertilizes a human ovum a new human being is created. A new
human being who carries genes in its cells that make that human being uniquely
different from any and other human being and yet, undeniably a member, as we all
are, of the great human family. All the fetus needs to grow into a babe, a child,
an old man, is time, nutrition and a suitable environment. It is determined at
that very moment of conception whether the baby will be a boy or a girl; which
of his parents he will look like; wha .....

Abortion: Pro Choice View
.... vulnerable later in life.
Another reason that causes women choice abortion is health problem.
There is a range of problems, including the child being born with Down's
Syndrome, Cystic Fibrosis, or a disposition to obesity, which can later in life
cause clogged arteries and heart failure. In another case, people must often
make choice between saving the mother, already a functioning member of society,
or letting her die to try and save the baby.
In conclusion, for any pregnant woman, making a decision to abort her
child is painful and ruthless, but under certain situation such as rape, young
age and health reasons, a woman .....

Life, Death, And Politics: A Run-Down Of The Abortion Debate.
.... that is at the heart of the debate.
In order to form an opinion on this matter, we must first question and
define several common factors which are numerously debated.
I. When does human life begin?
Scientists identify the first moment of human life as that instant when
a sperm cell unites with an ovum or egg cell. The billions of cells that
collectively make up a human being are body cells. Unless manipulated, these
body cells are and remain what they appear to be: skin, hair, bone, muscle, and
so on. Each has some worthy function in life and performs that function until
it dies. Other rare cells, known as germ cells, h .....

Morality And Legality Of Abortion
.... We
also often assert that to harm oneself intentionally or in a way that could
have been prevented by our own precaution is wrong. These examples include the
seatbelt and helmet laws and the ingestion of harmful drugs. In keeping with our
common and lawful morality that is careful to protect human life, the legality
of abortion appears incongruent.
An important question of this issue is of the point at which the life
conceived inside a woman's body is considered a life, rather than her personal
property. After conception, is there such a point htat "the right to choose"
can be exercised as an alternative to a condom or pill t .....

Partial-Birth Abortion And Its Affect On The American People
.... saw:
"I stood at the doctor's side and watched him perform a
partial-birth abortion on a woman who was six months
pregnant. The baby's heartbeat was clearly visible on the
ultrasound screen. The doctor delivered the baby's body and
arms, everything but his little head. The baby's body was
moving. His little fingers were clasping together. He was
kicking his feet. The doctor took a pair of scissors and
inserted them into the back of the baby's head, and the baby's
arms jerked out in a flinch, a startle reaction, like a baby does
when he thinks t .....

Legalization Of Abortion
.... The court that day, however, did not rule
when a life begins for a human. If society is to assume that a fetus is a human
the second it leaves the uterus, then what is the unborn baby three minutes
from birth , a monkey. When an unborn baby is aborted, society must realize that
an organ was not taken out, but a living human being. This would make abortion
wrong because according to law, no one has the right to take away anther's life.
With many people considering the cases of unwanted pregnancy due to
rape or incest to be acceptable, they must realize that the child is not the
crime. Society's reason behind this is, why s .....

The Ambivalence Of Abortion
.... birth control with
abortion. Nevertheless, no one ever said we can't place restrictions on
abortion but we can't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch. The fact remains
that although some might take advantage of the situation, it is unconstitutional
to deny the opportunity to someone who REALLY has no other alternative but
abortion. Every woman (and person) has the right to make their own decisions.
No one has the right to deny another of their own opinion. Some may not believe
in or agree with abortion and that's perfectly fine but it does not give them
the right to deny others of the option. Finally, a woman has the righ .....

Abortion
.... children will get the chance to be a mother or
father if they adopt this child who would have been aborted. The opposing side
takes a different side to the argument.
The pro side of legalizing abortion is known as pro-choice which is the
side of the argument that believes that if a woman is pregnant she should have
the right to abort. Some activist believe there are a number of reasons why a
mother would choose to abort. One, there might be something very wrong with the
child and the child might be better off never being born than being born and
having a life with many serious problems. You would also have to think of .....

Abortion: Birth Control Or Legal Murder?
.... killing of a human life--an unborn baby.
"But it is scientific and medical fact based on experimental evidence, that a
fetus is a living, growing, thriving human being, directing his or her own
development" (Fetal Development). A fetus is not just a blob of tissue, rather a
fetus is Latin for "offspring or young one." Human life begins at fertilization,
therefore it is wrong to murder the innocent child in the womb. At a US Senate
Judiciary Subcommittee meeting, most scientists said that life begins at
conception or implantation of the embryo. No scientist at the meeting claimed
that life begins at birth (Factbot). Professor Hymie .....

Abortion
.... is called vacuum aspiration and is done primarily in a medical clinic
or doctor's office using a local anesthetic for the cervix. During the second
trimester, abortions are usually done by means of dilation and evacuation. This
procedure uses forceps, curette, and vacuum aspiration. Although rarely sought,
third-trimester abortions may be performed when the fetus has severe genetic
defects or because continuing the pregnancy would be a threat to the woman's
health. A controversy began in 1988 over a drug, developed in France, called
RU 486, which, when taken during the first 7 weeks of pregnancy, causes the
embryo to beco .....
