But government policy regarding illegal drugs has proved a failure after 25 years because of the forfeiture laws which allow law enforcement agencies to keep the assets they seize instead of focusing on slowing the flow of drugs (Nilsen. The Future Of Participatory Democracy In America

By limiting the amount of money that could be spent on a campaign, the issues that affect people would be more important than raising more money than your competitor. Military Pay

The military has shrunk since 1986 due to the draw down yet, it has experienced a fourfold increase in the number of deployments. This has increased responsibility and stress on the soldier. I believe that the soldier is underpaid when compared to the private sector. They deserve annual pay raises that at least match the average American's as measured by the
Bureau of Labor Statistics" Employment Cost Index. The government should also have a "catch-up" raise to close the pay gap.
