.... ranks. One of the biggest problems was a bitter family feud between Benazir
Bhutto and her mother, Begum and brother, Murtaza. Murtaza had returned from
exile to claim a seat in the Sind provincial assembly, but was immediately
arrested for alleged terrorist activity. In late December 1993, Benazir removed
her mother as PPP co-chair after she had endorsed Murtaza's claim that he was
the rightful heir to his father's political legacy. However, in September 1994,
the family feud seemed to end during a visit of the prime minister to her mother

Great Zimbabwe is found in the mainland but it is close to the coast. Great

Israel
.... that one of the reasons for this change is because of the power the
Arabs have as a result of their oil and money.
Since 1948 Israel has had to deal with regular wars waged by its
Arab neighbors, with one of the highest taxation systems in the world and
with double digit inflation every year. There is a division among its
religious and non-religious people, and a division among its citizens of
European vs. North African origin. Israel has, in the past, had to deal
with not enough immigration and most recently too much immigration. When
Israel was first established there was much work to be done and too few

a Jewish settlement called Qiryat Sefer.
There were about 200 Palestinians rioting against the expansion. The
soldiers tried to stop the protesters without violence. First they told
the mob to go home, then they sprayed the crowd with tear gas, they fired
guns in the air, to scare them, then they shot rubber shells at them. Still
they wouldn1t move, so they opened fire. -The New York Times November 11,

From Village To City
.... collect it and eventually barter it off for food or money.
Obsidian comes from volcanoes and was a kind of glass, the only of the
times. The value of Obsidian was great, and so therefore was the supply and
demand. Salt, ore, copper, and soapstone were accepted trade materials
around 8000BC. Most of the Village to City civilization took place during

The Chinese Culture
.... of the house was destroyed. And every time
the man rebuilt it, he made it thicker and thicker. He blamed all his
misfortune on the Duke of Thunder. The Duke of Thunder was one of the gods who
lived in the heavens. He was the god of rain and thunder. The man dispised the
Duke very much and had a pure hatred of him.
Every time it rained the Duke would descend from the heavens and stand on a
hilltop. There he would watch with pure delight as the rains and thunder came
down harder and harder. Finally the man had had enough. One day he took his
axe and waited on the hilltop for the Duke to arrive. When the rains came so did

Lebanon

miles from the sea.
Although a tiny land, Lebanon boasts a great diversity in its landscape which
makes it one of the most picturesque countries in the world. The coast line is
br oken by many bays and inlets of varying size. At some points, the mountains
wade silently right into the sea - then climb suddenly tier on tier away from
the Mediterranean to the sky. Because of the limitation of flat agricultural
land, all but the steepest hillsides have been patiently and neatly terraced and
planted with garlands of twisted grapevines. The mountains lend a great variety
of hues - pale pink, rosy red, .....
