Training My Dog
.... an unconditioned stimulus (taping Max’ leg) and an unconditioned response (putting his paw in my hand). Once I have shaped this behavior I can then go on to the second phase using Pavlov’s classical conditioning.
Day 2: After two days of fixed ratio reinforcement, Max is beginning to give a conditioned response every time I tap his leg. Every time I tap his leg we exchange a paw for a liver treat. I am using continuous reinforcement today.
Day 3: I have switched to using variable interval reinforcement. I will only give him a liver treat whenever I feel like it. Max is now learning that when I tap his leg he is to give me .....

Autobiography Of Debrina L. Frazier
.... and community activities. Only when I began conforming was I accepted. This period of conformity lasted from ninth through eleventh grades. I wasn’t happy inside, but on the outside I was accepted by others. But now in my senior year I have given up conforming. I am myself and I have found my identity. I might not be cool but I have learned one has to love oneself before loving others.
Section III: Values
I have always been taught to be loyal to those who are good to me. When a friend is good to me and has earned my trust, then I will always be trustworthy to them. My father is a very loyal and good person and I .....

The Man In The Park
.... played on the wooden swing set. From where I stood on the path, I could hear their cheerful shouts, but could not see them. What I could see was the old man’s face. He had strong features: a broad nose, deep-set eyes, and pronounced cheekbones. They had all sunken into a deep sea of wrinkles over the years. You could tell that he had once been a handsome young man. He was of an average height, but appeared taller as he sat with a ramrod straight back. His eyes were an aquatic blue color, like the water off of the coast of Puerto Rico. His hair was receding and had turned a pure white instead of burnished silver. H .....

Have Another Beer
.... five people. The group seems to grow as everyone hears what he is saying. Fred loves to tell jokes that he’s heard all week, and make wise cracks at the rest of the drunks. Fred can often be seen doing stupid things like spilling his drink or tripping over his own feet. It is sometimes hard to understand him. he is excellent at slurring his words. if you can understand him, (which sometimes it’s funnier not to) than he’ll tell you stories about stupid things that have happened to him. He can be caught shouting to everyone, “I am the best comedian man has ever known!”
The worst drunk at every party is Dean Mean. All he do .....

.... ride in the back.
“Its too cold to ride back there! You’ll freeze to death! And what if we wreck? There aren’t any seat belts back there!” she yelled back. I was hoping she wouldn’t yell like this. Then dad butted in.
“What are you two talking about? Why do I always get left out of the conversation?”
“Tina wants to know if she and Jake can ride in the back. It’s too cold and if we wreck or something, they won't have seat belts!” mom complained.
“I could put the camper shell on and put some tupperware bowls full of hot water in there to heat em’ up a little. Then tie em’ to the sides with some rope. Those holes a .....

Finding Aviation In A Boy's Heart
.... Soon the soothing voice of a flight attendant was giving instructions over the intercom on emergency procedures. I began to hear the whining of the engines, and with a clunk, we began moving. As the plane began to roll backwards, the captain announced on the intercom how long the trip would be.
When the plane finally reached the runway, the engines started to scream as more power was wanted. Rolling down the runway all that I saw was a blur as everything raced by the window. All at once the plane rocked back and began to lift off the ground, like a bird taking flight. Climbing up into the air, I sank into my seat and my st .....

Celebration Of My 21st Birthday
.... up to this party, but, it seemed that they were mere accompaniment to my friends.
On this night, we all changed out of our class gear of old, comfortable t-shirts and dirty, blue jeans, and wore the best of our casual clothing. For me that meant my tight black pants, light purple, cashmere sweater, and black loafers. This was clearly an occasion that was special and fun, but, not extremely special.
Not everyone arrived on time for the dinner, so after waiting around ten minutes for the two late boyfriends, we started to order without them. We didn't see any need to wait. This wasn't considered bad manners, becaus .....

My First Airplane Trip
.... to get sick. The flight was booked solid, and to make matters worse, my boyfriend couldn't sit next to me. He had to sit two rows behind me on the other side of the plane.I thought to myself, this couldn't possibly get any worse. I kept looking back at him and he kept saying everything is fine, I'm right over here. When we finally took offf, I really felt sick, my stomach was in knots and I started feeling dizzy. I tried to calm myself down, and I finally started to relax a little. It seemed like i was just startin to relax when we were coming into Philly to land.

Our Father-Son Relationship
.... than ever after getting some major counseling. After a counseling session, my father came up to me with tears coming from his eyes, saying, “I love you.” I can also remember his putting his tree trunk arms around me, hugging so tight, not letting go. Since counseling, we talk all the time and go many places together. I am so glad our relationship and friendship has tightened rather than lose my father completely.
Parents in today’s world play a huge role in children’s lives. Perhaps my father had an extremely bad temper because his father acted the same way. My grandfather often beat my father when there wa .....

Not Having Enough Money
.... about ten minutes the waiter called my name and directed us to our seat. We opened up the menu and our eyes just focused on the prices, everything was around fourteen to twenty dollars. My cousin checked his pocket and I checked mine, for how much we had, and together we had $35.00. We were so worried that we won’t have enough money to pay for two meals that we ordered only one, we had to consider the tip and tax also. Our order was one sweet and sour chicken and two steamed rice. When we were finished eating they cleared the table and brought the check. It was only for $25.00, I was relieved that we had enough money but I was ma .....

Just Another Saturday Night?
.... hand as it glowed, spearing through the night.
I ran up the ramp and crouched down next to Matt, Eddie, Gavin and Jared. They all yelled my name as Matt tackled me to the floor of the platform. I tripped Matt over and rolled across next to Eddie. I grabbed his bottle of Tequila and took a swig, the salty liquid burnt down my throat, and the warmth cradled my body.
I grabbed a skateboard off Jared and pumped my way up the transition of the ramp. The rush as I flowed back and forth swept my consciousness off to internal thoughts. I smiled as I thought of Carla. My thoughts were broken as my right foot slipped off the dec .....

Vietnam
.... Everyone here hates the war and just wants to go home to their families. Everyday dozens of men are shot or killed by land mines, and I am really becoming depressed. I have seen so many men die just inches away from me. All I can think of is that could be me. I have come to the conclusion that war is the most awful and barbaric thing that anyone would ever have to go through, and I hate it.
One night, in my sleep, I had a dream about being back home. I was with Abbey and my parents and all of my friends. I missed them all so much. I wanted to go home. I needed to go home. I later woke up and found myself crying. That's when it .....
