Personal Writing: The Lake
.... arrived. We chose the
kayaks, and set out for the water. Carefully, with our torn-jeans rolled up,
and shirts off, we dragged the massive thing over the slope of grass and mud
into the shallow stream. We then hopped aboard, grabbed the paddles, and
floated and splashed into nowhere. The wavy current sucked us downstream,
periodically bouncing us off of sandbags and sharp branches leaning over the
water- Now that was true adventure! Minutes later, my brother and I, after
passing under many pipes and tunnels, floated into a huge "cul de sac" of water,
with an island in the center. In our amazement, we paddled there as vigorously .....

Personal Essay: I Propose To Change The Status Of Craighead County, AR From A Dry To A Wet County
.... The fact is that people are going to drink. Why not sell to
Craighead citizens in Craighead? It makes far greater sense to put back where
you take out. Meaning if you earn a living in Craighead one should purchase
from those there as well. If the citizens could legally buy alcohol her they
would not be helping out their neighbors. Not only by bringing in those stores
that specialize in alcohol, but those businesses who serve it as well, Craighead
could increase it's income for small business men and for the county. Tax money
from liquor sales goes 20% to counties on basis of unincorporated population,
and 80% to cities on .....

picture next to the others'. During the two discussions the teacher and Amina
are having, the teacher is having a hard time justifying what she is actually
doing. She gives no particular reason for telling Amina to take home the picture.

.... friends here."
"I know, its tough isn't it," he replied, trying to comfort her. "I just
moved here 3 years ago myself. After a few weeks you'll have lots of freinds
though."
"Thats good," she replied as she looked up at Bob into his eyes.
Then there was a moment of silence with just the two of them staring
into each others eyes. Then finally Bob broke the silence and said "I know this
seems kind of weird," Bob said shyly, "But, would you like to go to a movie with
me this weekend?"
Jennifer's face brightened up as she exclaimed, "I thought you'd never
ask!"

Creative Writing: Siege Of Yorktown
.... they saw their mistake and
started firing on us but no harm was done. It took nine days to dig all of the
trenches. Finally on October 15th we were prepared to start the siege.
As the American Flag rose ten cannons fired simultaneously. Since we
were firing from 150 ft. away our cannons had a devastating effect. Later,
during the second afternoon the Sappers and Miners, including myself were issued
axes and we were instructed to chop a path through the abatis (the tops of trees
cut with a slanting stroke to act as spikes) they were nearly impossible to get
through. As American and French soldiers rushed through the British .....

My Trip On The Ganges River
.... that they call it "Ganga
Mata" or Mother Ganges. It is also the greatest waterway in India and one of the
largest in the world. Temples line the riverbank, and stairways, called ghats,
lead down to the water. I am enclosing one of the pictures I took of the Ganges
River.
The river is an important trade place. Its valley is fertile and densely
populated. Some of India's largest cities like Calcutta, Howrah, Patna, Benares,
Allahabad, and Cawnpore are located on the river. India's capital, New Delhi, is
on one of its tributaries, the Jumna. The Ganges River however, isn't as
important commercially as it once was. By the way, wh .....

How I Learned To Ski
.... while
learning how to ski, you see there is no standard way to ski everyone has to
find their own style of skiing or snowboarding . As you can find out this sport
is not something you do good at right away, it takes time and practice to become
good.
When I got older we would go to bigger mountains in Colorado where he
lives, we would spend all day skiing down difficult runs called double diamonds,
that is the hardest run on the slopes. At first it was hard for me to keep up
with my fathers tremendous speed and coordination he could really move down a
mountain, for an amateur skier he was a real pro to me, I would try and copy .....

Personal Writing: You Will Always Remember Your First Time!
.... dad looked at me with silly grin and said “Well you knew it was
coming, you won your 25th race last month.”
As I stood there with a smile bigger than the sun on my face I said “I
know but I am still excited about it. Just think I will be racing side by side
with Damon Bradshaw and Kevin Windham.”
He just smiled and patted me on the back as I turned and walked to my
room. I sat dreaming of the race I will enter next month. I had no idea what
was in store for me at this spectacular event.
As D-day drew nearer my mind overflowed with anticipation. I gathered
my riding gear and my lucky Bart Simpson doll and headed o .....

Personal Bond With My Friends During Tennis Camp
.... chatting as they walked to the clubhouse for
a snack during a break. By expending all my energy on the game, I had hoped
that my friends would respect my ability and that it would bring us closer
together. Instead, I felt they were ostracizing me, which wasn't truly the case.
Even so, Suzanne and Erin had developed a tight relationship of which I was
envious. The closer they became, the worse I felt because I wanted to share
equually in the friendship.
The bonding of our friendship did come about from another distinctive part
of the tennis camp experience. Assuming that I had mastered the basics and
proceeded to a more a .....
