A Streetcar Named Desire: Is Illusion Necessary To Life
.... this illusion wouldn't
last forever. The young couple got married and, to Blanche, were falling
more and more in love, when one day "coming into a room that I thought was
empty" (1368), this illusion would be shattered. In this room were her
husband, Allan, and a older male friend of his. Allan Grey was gay. Soon,
Blanche realised that all along he had been trying to let her know and get
"the help he needed but couldn't speak of! He was in the quicksands and
clutching at me - but I wasn't holding him out, I was slipping in with
him!" (1368). She was falling farther into the illusion with each passing
second with her lov .....

Macbeth: How Does The Play's Imagery Help Us To Understand Its Themes And Characters?
.... a happy and unsuspecting
atmosphere. When you are in a crowd you feel safe and not threatened. If
you are with a lot of people when there is a crime you have a very strong
alibi. When Macbeth was at his banquet he made a toast to Banquo who was
not present, MacBeth knew exactly why Banquo was not present because it
was he who sent out two murderers to kill him; the play is full of such
lies and stories to cover up crimes so much that the criminals can not
handle the guilt.
The whole play is a reflection of chaos and order. The population
are all in an order and set rank but at the top of the hierarchy where the
order .....

Television - In Living Color
.... on both the auditory and visual field.
The time spent in front of a television continues to grow with each
generation. The number of hours a child spends in front of a television
is rapidly overtaking even the number of hours that they will spend in
school. Included in their weekly television viewing are an extraordinary
amount of commercial messages. Before entering school, young children will
have formed many of their beliefs of what is good by the commercials they
have viewed. Due to the number of hours spent watching television,
advertisers use the concept of repetition to "promote goods, services,
ideas, images, issue .....

Insanity In Macbeth
.... that he is still sane even though he has the ability to see ghost. His
mind has already gone mad and he cannot control it .He is not able to
separate what is real from
what is reality.
One final instance is ability to kill anyone he feels as a threat
to him. When someone is able to make such a decision without remorse has
gone insane. The ability to make a decision of whether to take someone's
life is a decision that can only be made by a sane person. When MacBeth
orders to Kill Banquo and his son, Fleance his ability to make another
decision of whether are not to take another life was gone. He is now gone
insane and his decisi .....

Interpretation Of Romeo And Juliet
.... marry Paris causing Juliet to panic. She then has to hurry and do
something to stop the wedding and of course fate would just happen to guide
her back to Friar Lawrence. Fate wouldn't just stop there. He just kept on
going. He has it arranged that Friar John, the messenger who was suppose to
deliver the news of Juliet's fake death, quarantined.
Romeo finds out that Juliet is dead from Balthazar and screams out,
"Is it e'en so?--Then I defy you, stars!" (Act 5, scene 1, pg. 213). He
blames Juliet's death on fate and returns to Verona with poison to join her.
He leaves a little before Friar John tells Friar Lawrence about his fa .....

Oedpius: Justice...
.... I who first saw you the light bred of a match accursed,
and accursed ." The consequences of his actions are harsh. He stabs his
own eyes out and his wife/mother took her own life.
Justice is defined as "the abstract principle by which right and
wrong are defined." Utilizing this definition pertaining to the story
Justice has not been served. Since Oedipus's actions were predetermined by
the gods, he should not have to face the consequences. Even though he was
not mentally responsible for his actions he decided to punish himself. He
stabbed his eyes out and his wife/mother took her own life.

King Oedpius: Oedpius A Person Of Great Importance
.... and death merely because he was hesitant to reveal the harsh realities
of Oedipus' life? Oedipus' tale of meeting Laius is another troubling
point. In Colonus he states in plain terms that King Laius would have
murdered him had he not killed Laius. In his initial speech to Jocasta on
Laius' death he tells a different story. It sounds as though he provoked,
or at least escalated, the attack on him, striking the first real blow
instead of going off the road, which was all Laius' party really wanted him
to do. His earlier speech is not at all a recall of killing in self-
defense. Oedipus is, rather, quite hotheaded and possibly .....

Last Of The Mohicans: Contrast And Comparison Of The Book And Movie
.... it left out other scenes.
One such scene would be when Uncas Chickengook and Hawkeye join Cora, Alice,
Duncan, Maugua, and Gamut.* When these characters join the party, they tell
Duncan that Maugua is a Huron spy. Duncan decides to question Maugua, but
when he does, Maugua runs away. When Maugua begins to run, Duncan wants to
chase him, but Uncas, Chickengook, and Hawkeye see that it is not wise to
chase him, because there might be more of his tribe near. This is not only
dissimilar to the movie, but in the movie, Uncas, Chickengook and Hawkeye
join Cora, Alice Duncan, Maugua, and many troops. The troops seem to be on
the jo .....

A Street Car Named Desire: Theme Of Reality Vs. Illusion
.... her reality. She is afraid of getting old which is which she
puts covers on the lamps to dim the lights. She's afraid of being alone,
which was why she tried so hard to keep Mitch from finding out about her
past.
In conclusion, although Stella and Blanche were brought up in the
same environment, they matured differently. Stella deals with her reality
and doesn't try to cover it up with lies, unlike Blanche who creates
illusions to cover up her problems and fears.

Macbeth: A Tragic Hero
.... has a lot more on his mind; the third prophecy about becoming the
King. Macbeth knows that if something were to happen to Duncan, Malcolm
and Donalbain, Duncan's sons, would be the rightful heirs to the throne.
How can Macbeth be King when he is nowhere near the next in line to the
throne? Another requirement for a tragic hero is that he must have a
tragic flaw. Macbeth's tragic flaw is that of ambition; Macbeth's ambition
will cause him to decline.
At this point, Lady Macbeth knows all about the witches prophecies.
She really wants to be Queen of Scotland so she encourages Macbeth to do
what he has to do to get rid of D .....

the place with power and spray perfume and cover the light bulb

Hamlet: Moral Order
.... the play, The Ghost tells Hamlet of the crime
committed by Claudius. When Hamlet finds out his father was murdered by
his own brother, who then stole his wife and crown, he immediately commits
himself to avenging the murder; "Haste me to know't, that I, with wings as
swift/As meditation or the thoughts of love/May sweep to my revenge." At
this point, Hamlet is completely justified in his feelings, and most would
agree that his revenge is morally right. Although the act of murder itself
is wrong, an "eye for an eye" almost wholly justifies it. The gravity of
Claudius' crime grows when one considers that all the deaths througho .....
