Spanish Influence

The Scientific Revolution & The Enlightenment In Europe

developments were not very popular in Europe until the eighteenth century
when the ideas and methods became known as part of the Enlightenment.
Philosophes, a group of thinkers, developed related ideas forming a basis
for modern thought. Emphasizing again skepticism, empirical reasoning, and
satire. People began believing that reasoning and education were bringing
Western civilization into enlightenment from a state of immaturity.

The Horror Of The Black Plague In Europe In 1347
.... the number of soldiers that died. But it soon enough started back up.
There was no permanent effect on the course of politics. Parliaments were
adjourned, but were quickly reconvened. King Alfonso XI of Castile was the
only reigning monarch to die of the plague, but many lesser notables died,
including the queens of Argon and France, and the son of the Byzantine
emperor (Knox). Local levels felt the damage of the plague more. Whole
families of local nobles were dead. Because of the plague and death,
courts were closed, and therefore wills could not be probated. Courts soon

China's Influence On Korea

Ancient Egyptians And The Norsemen: Creating The Past

Chernobyl Revisted
.... it was an awfully
large discharge. 31 firefighter tried helplessely to put out the blast, of
the 31 1 survived. When asked why they fought the fire instead of not, he
replied who else would of put the fire out it was his job. When the
surface fire was put out there was yet another problem. The reactor core
was still a blaze, the soviets tried a sand-boron-lead mixture to put out
the fire it eventually worked. The soviets still did not release the
information to the public on the Chernobyl incident untill 1 1/2 days after

The Slavery Of Africans

Africa is a continent in dire straits. European colonization and
colonialism damaged the native structure and society - some might say that
this simply proves that European man caused, and ought to pay for, the
damages done to Africa and her people. However, I would argue that simply
placing a 'band-aid' blanket over Africa, would serve only to mask their
problems, and relieve us of our guilt. It was this same attitude that the

NATO Airstrikes In Kosovo
.... and nationalism dominated the Balkans again. Conflicts between
different nations broke out sporadically.
Now let's look at the sequence of the Kosovo crisis. In 1989 Serbian
leader Slobodan Milosevic cancelled Kosovo's autonomy for Albanians who
constituted the majority population in Kosovo wanted to independent. The
Kosovo assembly approved this measure and street violence began to break
out. In Feb. 1990 in order to put down the more and more serious violent
clashes in Kosovo, Yugoslavia sent troops, tanks, warplanes and 2000
police to Kosovo. In July, ethnic Albanian legislators in the province

The Korean War And The Damage

drove southward. North Korea was aided during the war by personnel and
equipment from both China and the Soviet Union. The UN Security Council,
with the Soviet delegate voluntarily absent, invoked military sanctions
