Good Communications Skills
.... this quote in his book The Quick and Easy Way to Effective Speaking.
"Expressiveness is the result of earning the right and having an eager desire to share the message with the audience."
Basically, he taught me to be myself, put my heart into everything I say, make my voice be heard, and be honest with myself and others.
I hated everything about this course while I was attending. It was four hours long, and I am very impatient. I felt that nothing appealed to me. I was unchangeable. I was perfect or, at least, close to it. I did not need to attend for any reason. I would have made a big mistake since the co .....

America And Affirmative Action
.... they violate the 14th Amendment of the Constitution and the Civil Rights laws., The claim is that these programs distort what is now a level playing field and bestow preferential treatment on understanding minorities because of the color of their skin. While this view seems very logical on the surface, many contend that it lacks any historical support and is aimed more at preserving existing White privilege than establishing equality of opportunity for all. Any cursory look at the history of this country should provide a serious critique to the idea of a level playing field. Since the birth of this nation, Blacks have be .....

Gender
.... emotions non-verbally. Let’s face it males, women are the super humans. One of the positive key advantages of a male is their assertiveness and high self-esteem. The women on the other hand are more extroverted and tender minded, qualities, which enable them to be all of the characteristics listed before. When gender differences are viewed at in a sexual aspect, the men are still the stereotypical “pigs”. Through relationships males are more likely to be involved for one thing, sex. The females, being much more sensitive and all, want love and compassion through a relationship, and maybe sex, or making love on the side. .....

Gender Inbalances In School
.... promote women in these fields. Since I have been in college I have change my major 3 times. Most of my friends have also. So it is not the case that women have made up their mind by the time that they enter college and it can’t be changed. It may not be the individual teacher’s responsibility to encourage female scientists but the weight does fall in the college’s administrative office. The dean of these colleges should take the inceptive and start the process of encouragement.
It is possible that women see the world of science as a man’s world and that is why they are not reaching to get in. If they were shown that ther .....

Teenagers
.... if the teenager is being subjected to sexual advances. These advances can be so upsetting it may cause them to feel ashamed of their bodies, fear becoming a woman, and they may try to make their bodies go back to a child like appearance through starvation.
Teenagers are under a lot of pressure to succeed and fit in. Many spend a lot of time worrying about what others think and they desperately try to conform to society's unattainable "ideal" body image. They are lead to believe that if they are thin, they will be accepted. Since many teenagers are constantly buying teen or fashion magazines, the images of emaciated models .....

The Art Of Raising A Child
.... Tommy's body is smaller doesn't make him less of a person. He has feelings, concerns, and opinions. Value, don't invalidate them. No child is ever too small to deserve your respect.
2. Grant Your Child the Right to Own. Once you have given Tammy the doll, it is hers--irrevocably! Let her toss it, drown it, sever its head. Do not force her to share it. How would you like to have your toy taken away from you? When your company provides you with that fully equipped BMW, does this oblige you to let Neighbor Bob drive it every Sunday? You will find that by not interfering with your child's right to ownership, she will take much be .....

.... Another counselor from Omaha said, "If a kid hears his dad laughing about having beat somebody up when he was 13, then that father is creating an underlying philosophy in the family." Joseph Stankus, an Omaha psychologist, said, "If sombody doesn't show any regard for the results of violence, then maybe you give it to them" (qtd. in Nelson np).

Women's Freedom And Control
.... began to attend school and learned how to use the proper English and mathematics skills. This gave more women a greater opportunity and to have an open mind in the public.
Today women have many rights and a very wide range of freedom. They can go anywhere and do almost anything, except the things that are illegal. Women are now equal to everyone because of the Bill of Rights and the other documents of the government, teach many people about having freedom, especially women. Having the freedom of speech and the others like the freedom of religion let women do what they wanted and not be criticized about it. Women in the 90' .....

TV Trash?
.... watching and learning the immoral truths of today’s society. But ask yourself where are those children’s parents? Bennett wants to eliminate the talk shows so then our culture can be cleansed, but are the talk shows to blame for our so-called culture rot. Shouldn’t we look to point the finger at other television shows? Bennett would disagree, he states that “the worst of television is the day-time television talk shows” (29). His rightwing, conservative attitude would say that we should ban all daytime talk shows to eliminate the problem in our society. Now if this would happen it would be called censorship and with that wor .....

Affirmative Action
.... the 1960’s, American blacks and other minorities were denied employment opportunities because of their race, color, sex, religion, and national origin. As a result, minorities and women received lower wages and their rate of unemployment was higher than the country’s overall rate of unemployment. In an effort to put an end to employment discrimination, Congress enacted Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The Equal Employment Commission, established by the Act, is charged with enforcing the anti-discrimination laws through prevention of employment discrimination and resolution of complaints. The Act is designed to make e .....

Improving Education
.... approaches when learning the curriculum. Extended day, however, takes a more "hands on" approach to learning those objectives which are identified as needing improvement during the selection process. A ten to one student/teacher ratio allows for individualized attention to be given. By having a smaller ratio, " frequent monitoring and assessment of pupil progress, high expectations, and feedback that is performanced based " ( ) occurs. Because these students are at-risk of not obtaining sufficient scores, attendance is crucial . In a study completed by Natiello and Dornbusch(1984) , the researchers found "that students .....
