Confucianism And Christianity
.... and society as one whole is known as Li. Li means ³the
rationalized social order² (Yutang). Confucius felt that love and respect for
authority was a key to a perfect society; this strict respect was practiced
through rituals and magic (Smith). The Confucius traditions have caused a
tradition to set within its institution and is extremely active. It has,
unfortunately, allowed the political institution to manipulate the Confucius
system. As with Christianity.
Christianity also preaches a divine, brotherly love. Modern
Christianity seeks to discover a ³rational understanding of the person² as did
Confucius (Ess ed. 381); .....

Does God Exist?
.... it is true that we exist.
In the article Aquinas says that it is possible for things to exist and
for them not to exist. He means that living things will one day become non-
living things. Aquinas believes that all things can not be mortal because if it
were true, then at some point nothing would exist. What he means is if all
things were living things, meaning that they had to be mortal, then at some time
these things must also become non-existing.
Aquinas says that if everything were mortal, then nothing could be
existing at present, because what is nonexistent begins to be only through
something which already exists. .....

The Existence Of God
.... as we have just mentioned, the
existence of all other uncertainties in our world may explain why the existence
of God is so real to many people. For the believers, God provides a convenient
answer to all these questions except for the answers regarding God itself. The
following are some of the general arguments for the existence of God.
The first argument comes from the theory of design; there are orders in the
universe which can't be occurring by mere chance. Secondly, the existence of
God explains the arguments regarding the efficient causality; as the world
exhibits orderly causal sequences, something had to start it .....

Impermanence, Selflessness, And Dissatisfaction
.... our desires and the state of reality.
Dissatisfaction is the most difficult characteristic of existence to apply to
one's life, as it involves not only the acceptance of this state, but also
outlines one on how to treat and cure this state.
The notion that the world is an ever-changing environment on all levels
of existence is not a radical idea. In fact, those that have not yet accepted
change as a natural state of nature is denying the reality of life. A being and
the empirical world are both constantly changing. They come into being and pass
away. All is in a whirl, nothing escapes this inexorable unceasing change, an .....

Thesis: Is There A God Or Is He(?) An Illusion?
.... certain as the existence of God. He is
the groundwork of all our hopes, and our foundation of morality and society.
Nothing exists without a cause. Although we can't demonstrate a soul-substance
and the immortality of a soul, or demonstrate anything concerning the nature of
God, there is still a dependency on him, so that we cannot ascribe a
personality to God, in the case that it would make him finite.
God is the universe conceived as an eternal and necessary unity.

The Truth About Physics And Religion
.... appear to
agree that “physics is the manner in which we argue about the objective side of
reality.” Religious followers, on the other hand, agree that “religion is the
way we express the subjective decisions that help us choose the standards by
which we live.” Although these definitions seem to be contrasting, an important
element remains absent, an element that must first be considered before religion
and physics can be compared.
Those who think that religion has no basis in reality also believe that
there is an “obvious” separation between the two fields. They think that
religion is a jumble of false assertions, with no .....

Religion
.... and death.
The crucifixion of Jesus Christ, "Jesus was taken to Golgotha and nailed to a
cross, the Roman punishment for political offenders and criminals."2 The
Crusades, "The name Crusade (from Latin, "Cross") was also applied, to the wars
against pagan peoples, Christian heretics, and political foes of the papacy."2
All three examples illustrate how man has used God to justify his greed and
quest for power. When the leadership was challenged, it used devine decree to
justify the murder and torture of the innocent. We are expected to believe that
a non-physical being order the religious leadership to aquire riches and land .....

Christianity
.... one of the most appealing in that any sins may easily be corrected and that
Christians may live comfortable, if not wealthy lives without guilt.
Christianity, like other religions though, has many weaknesses. Although as time
goes on, Christianity is slowly evolving and trying to become even more
appealing to society, there are still many downfalls. One thing with
Christianity is that from day one we are given a guilt trip. We are born evil.
We are born with "the original sin". We are at the mercy of God. If we beg
forgiveness however, it shall be granted. My grandmother for instance has been a
firm believer in the .....

Christ: VICTORY!!
.... Jesus says that "It is finished", he can also be reffering to the older
predictions of Christs' life. There is one in particular that it might have been
talking about in Isaiah. That is the one in which Isaiah talks of the life of
Jesus and the crusifiction, in very short and brief detail.
The suffering in which Jesus took for us lasted all through the night, and then
in the morning the thrusted a sword into His side to see if he was alive. After
the water poored out of His side, you can say that it is officially over. In my
heart it is not completely over, just that of that era. Jesus will always live
in my heart and not unt .....

Jesus: The First Anarchist
.... put in more than all the other
contributors to the treasury. For they have contributed from their surplus
wealth, but she, from her poverty, has contributed all she had, her whole
livelihood," says Jesus, teaching us an important lesson, one he stressed
throughout his ministry. Jesus taught that the poor would be raised up, that the
powerful, the bosses as modern day anarchists say, will be layed low. Jesus
talks of the kingdom of God, we today talk of Anarchy.
The gospel of Luke, chapter 12, presents to us a wonderful group of stories in
which Jesus' underlying Anarchism is revealed. Luke 12:15, "Take care to guard
against .....

The Longest Day
.... and determine these specific locations in the past. It was during one
such search that the extra day appeared.
From various accounts of the incident, it appears that something "did not
compute." The extra day was just there. There was no computer malfunction; there
was no explanation for the interruption of normal time patterns.
When this apparent error appeared and no explanation was forthcoming, one of the
scientists related that he had studied in Sunday School about time standing
still. A preposterous idea to scientists, but faced with no other explanation,
they asked him to show them the story.
In the story in the tenth c .....

Religion In Public Schools
.... one minute, shall be observed for
meditation." This law did not work for long, because it still allowed oral
prayer in public high schools. Later in 1981, the Alabama State Senator Donald G.
Holmes successfully passed a bill that included all grades calling it "the
moment of silence" this law said that "the teacher (was) to announce that the
silent moment may be used for voluntary prayer." Although it would have to be si

this were trying to say that students "do not have a right to pray in school"
silently or otherwise because of growing impressions .....
