.... I had the opportunity to visit a retirement home once
a week. During our visit with the elderly, we also cleaned up. doing the normal
housekeeping that was necessary for them to live in a cleaner, better
environment. I am very glad that I had Japanese that I was able to understand
the retirees, especially when the needed someone to talk to and when I was able
to understand and help them clean where they asked me to. Through the
understanding that I had then as a missionary in the Japanese language, I feel
that the full-time workers there were less worried about us performing duties
for them because we had better Japanese. .....

Russian Jews

Beer

previously been prepared with unmalted barley. After a while when barley malt

Muscle Cars
.... in my mind, is a super-rare 1967 L88 which is a full race version with 430 advertised hp (actually the power was well over 500 hp ) fitted in to a low option car (Benty 21). The car that is often over looked is the Buick. Buick has produced some of the fastest cars in the muscle car era, some argue that the 1970 GSX is everything that the LS6 is, and more ! With more options and a potent 455 ci V-8 that made 360 hp and a whopping 510 lbs-ft of torque that pushed the car to a quarter mile time of 13 seconds at 105 mph . Mock Stock Portfolio

The final value of my portfolio on December 11, 1998 and the initial value in September can be seen in Appendix A. In the eighty-one days of supervision the realized return was $201,118,289 or 13.5%. My stocks are up 13.13%, mutual Funds 13.96%, and dividend payments earned 5% annually in a money market.
I am satisfied with the performance of this portfolio compared to benchmark S&P 500 which has increased only 11.65% since week ending September 21st. I am not personally satis .....

Violence In Hockey

There are "those who only seek violence as the main activity in hockey and not the sporting activity itself".(Roy, Guy p.57) Man is known to be the most dangerous animal on Earth. Endangered Whales

The decimation of great whales has been going on for centuries, one species after another hunted to levels so low that it is no longer profitable to hunt them. The Last Temptation Of Christ

The episode, while on the cross, where he is brought together with Mary Magdalene was something that could have been in the mind of anyone or anything (as you prefer) given the circumstances. The Portrayal of Jesus Christ by William Defoe was magnificent and I do not believe anyone else could have played Jesus the way he did and the way that Martin Scorcese was trying to convey.

.... three obnoxious spiky haired children. Groening intended for them to represent the typical American family "who love each other and drive each other crazy". Groening named the characters after his own family. His parents were named Homer and Margaret and he had two younger sisters named Lisa and Maggie. Bart was an anagram for "brat".
