George Washington And Thomas Jefferson Grew It, Why Can’t We?
.... facts about the cannabis sativa plant and why it is such a useful crop. Therefore, the purpose of this essay is to present you, as the consumer and American citizen, with some strong arguments as to why the growing of hemp in America should be legal once again.
Hemp is grown in large fields much resembling green wheat fields. All parts of the plant are used: the seed, the stalk, and the leaves. It requires little fertilizer and resists pests on its own. Consequently, it costs less, requires less effort for upkeep, and prevents the use of many agricultural chemicals, which are dangerous and contaminate the environment. Hemp g .....

Capital Punishment
.... punishment, for it is certainly the only way to deal with the cruelty of crime that has infected our society.
Some people say it is barbaric to take someone's life through electric chairs or gas chambers. They now have lethal injection where the person doesn't feel any pain. They also say it is religiously wrong to take another persons life. But the Bible calls for a penalty of death for more than thirty different crimes. The Bible states, "Whosoever sheds man's blood, by man his blood be shed" (Genesis (9:6).
Defenders of the death penalty insist that since taking an offender's life is more severe punishment than any pri .....

Marijuana Should Be Legalized
.... drugs. It can be used medically, or as an intoxicant. THC stands for tetrahydrocannabinol, which is the main psychoactive substance in marijuana. Hashish is another form of cannabis that is found on the top of the cannabis plant. It has effects similar to marijuana (Grolier). Marijuana is a hallucinogenic drug. Doses can range from a simple "high" to effects similar to being intoxicated in alcohol.
Users may develop tolerance, but it has yet to be proven that marijuana is physically addicting (Grolier).
Marijuana use became a concern in the United States during the 1930's. Laws were passed which made possession, sale, and use .....

Marijuana
.... or the more direct, "smoke". Marijuana goes back over five thousand years. It is one of the oldest agricultural commodities not grown for food. Hemp, first cultivated in China as early as 2800 B.C., soon stretched to central Asia where it spread like milkweed or thistle. Marijuana soon began to crowd out neighboring grasses and reaching heights of three to twenty feet stretched over large plains. Local people began to use the plant for its strong, durable fibers which they used for rope and to construct material similar to linen. Early in the Christian Era, Marijuana reached the Mediterranean countries of Europe. Its culti .....

Case For Legalizing Marijuana
.... possession charges.
The Case For Legalizing Marijuana Use: The United States stands apart from many nations in its deep respect for the individual. The strong belief in personal freedom appears early in the nation's history. The Declaration of Independence speaks of every citizen's right to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." The Constitution and Bill of Rights go further, making specific guarantees. They forbid the government to make unwarranted entry into dwelling places. They forbid seizure of personal property, except when very clear reasons are approved by the courts. They allow every citizen to remain sile .....

Adult Entertainment And The City Of New York
.... are three-fold. First, in the process of zoning property boundaries, the government must avoid a regulating factor that allows a commercial business to have no other competition. A monopoly is an illegal economic entity in our free-market system. If only one adult establishment can be present in a zoning area, it is then a restriction of the competitive market where there can not be a choice for the consumer. This is the weakest of the three arguments and it will just be mentioned but not pursued.
Second, it seems that the realm in which the city defines the "Adult Establishment" as a commercial enterprise, it seems that a .....

Dumb Criminals
.... police have some way of identifying who robbed them, a link missing from the chain mail so to speak. Some examples of this would be to sign a ransom note or to rob a bank without a disguise. Another nice thing to do is to smile for the camera when robbing a place that has surveillance. To be really dumb, one should always stick out like a sore thumb. Wear distinctive clothing such as a work uniform with nametags.
No matter what crime is committed, criminals always need to get away, and usually a car is used. When using a car, use a company car with the name and address of the company on the side. To be idolized by .....

How To Reduce Crime In Your Neighborhood
.... (once a month or so). They don't ask anyone to take personal risks to prevent crime. They leave the responsibility for catching criminals where it belongs - with the police. This is NOT a "vigilante" group:
These groups gather citizens together to learn crime prevention from local authorities. You cooperate with your neighbors to report suspicious activities in the neighborhood, to keep an eye on homes when the resident is away, and to keep everyone in the area mindful of the standard precautions for property and self that should always be taken. Criminals avoid neighborhoods where such groups exist.

Medicalizing Drugs
.... it would not change society in the slightest other than we would now have higher taxes in order to support these individuals drug habit. These individuals would now have no reason to try and better themselves in society, which means they would continue to depend on the American public to support them.
People that are on drugs have no respect for themselves much less anyone else. They have fallen to a very low point in their lives and do not have the strength or the knowledge of how to pick themselves up and out of the situation they are in. We must give them some hope that there is solution to their problem and teach t .....

Electrocution Is The Only Way
.... in the back of most reader’s minds. Therefore, it is not very hard for him to quickly gain the interest of several readers. However, his credibility is another issue. As a newspaper columnist for the Sun Sentinel, Maucker has minimal credibility. As an editor, he makes this very evident trough his use of bias opinions. He shows these one-sided beliefs through exerps like “In a grisly report” or “Just what Florida doesn’t need: a new but almost-identical version of its 76-year-old electric chair.” Despite the poor credibility, Maucker displays several facts to back up his views on the subject. For example, he states that fi .....

Gun Control
.... statistics it is obvious that access to firearms did not provide extra protection for the citizen. In fact, the number of crime victims who successfully use firearms to defend themselves is quite small. Out of 34,040 American firearms deaths in 1996, only 212 were justifiable homicides by private citizens with firearms. Obviously the ones who used the opportunity to buy guns were the criminals. It is a proven fact that handguns have been the murder weapon of choice. Guns are involved in half of all homicide cases. People believe that society has relied on weapons that create harm and criminals. Therefore, these weapons should .....

THe Use Of Marijuana
.... to an individual than alcohol or tobacco does. Even so, marijuana's recreational use is still illegal in America.
No Limit rapper Snoop Dogg says in a recent interview with "High Times," If the government was to legalize marijuana, the crime rate would go down. People would just wanna chill." Snoop goes on to say, "Alcohol does more to harm society than weed could ever do. If that is legal, then marijuana should be too. It would balance out that aggression." Doctors say that marijuana doesn't heighten urges to commit crime. It does, however, heighten your sense of awareness. A heightened sense of awareness is good i .....
