Legalization Of Marijuana
.... jail time.
One argument in favor of legalizing marijuana is its potential use
as medicine. Many of the effects marijuana has on the mind and body are
helpful in fighting several diseases. Marijuana has often been used to
help cancer patients ease the pain of chemotherapy. It is also used
against AIDS. Many AIDS patients have very little appetite. The effect
marijuana has on people's hunger, commonly known as the “munchies”, helps
these people to keep eating, so that their bodies stay stronger, and don't
deteriorate as quickly. Marijuana is also helpful for people suffering
from glaucoma. It relieves the pressure on their ey .....

Defending A Killer
.... make it totally acceptable for an innocent person to
be put to death for a crime that they did not commit? Try to vision if you
can, a family member accused of murder, tried, convicted, and sentenced to
death for a crime they did not commit. How much faith would you now have in
that family member or friend telling you that he or she is innocent. Now
picture a lawyer, knowing that your spouse, son, or close friend are
innocent. This lawyer knows that your family member or friend is going to
be executed for a crime they did not commit. But this lawyer has a code or
a set of rules that will not allow them to pass on that information. .....

Impact Of Abuse
.... deceit? First you put me in a
situation that had to be kept a secret then you pledged me to secrecy...As
a ten- year-old child, what was I supposed to do? You are an intelligent
man-you figure out the options available to a ten-year-old in that
position." (Rush, 1980)
Guilt:
The abused will feel tremendous guilt for a numerous reasons: - They
feel they did nothing to stop the abuse therefore they are responsible and
it should continue.
- They felt uncomfortable but the abuse was sometimes pleasureable.
- They somehow deserved and/or caused the abuse. A victim will
usually feel this way when their self- .....

Capital Punishment: Pros
.... Murder, never take into account the consequences of their
actions. Deterrence to crime, is rooted in the individuals themselves.
Every human has a personal set of conduct. How much they will and will not
tolerate. How far they will and will not go. This personal set of conduct
can be made or be broken by friends, influences, family, home, life, etc.
An individual who is never taught some sort of restraint as a child, will
probably never understand any limit as to what they can do, until they have
learned it themselves. Therefore, capital punishment will never truly work
as a deterrent, because of human nature to ignore practise .....

The Death Penalty
.... it is barbariaertic of the
past. It has no place in a civilized society today. One of the biggest
arguments against capital punishment is people feel that it violates the
eighth amendment which forbids cruel and unusual punishment. People
against Capital Punishment believe the death penalty is absurd and is in
un-christian practice. Further more, they feel society should not"
encourage sentiments of vengenance cater to morbid interest in ritual
execution." Criminologists also built a strong case that the threat of
death failed to deter murder, anymore effectively than prison. Therefore,
to inflict harm to one,it is simply usel .....

Outline: Negative Debate On Effects Of Hate Mongering
.... that
this is what you are saying by assuming that hate crimes deserve a more
severe punishment?
Possible inherency 3. Rise in hate groups promotes violence. - People
are not forced to listen to hate mongering groups. The people who mostly
follow them are people who believe what they are preaching. - You are aware
that you are recommending that we limit freedom of thought, even if the
thought is deplorable? Are you aware that this is in direct violation with
the first amendment of the United States Constitution? Do you realize that
if such legislation were passed it would give precedence for Congress to be
able to pass .....

Capital Punishment
.... being punished.
However the states don't keep all murders in jail forever. Some
of these criminals will get out and will probably start all over again. Its
not that they have to kill, but they have a problem. Problem or no problem
the states just can't let a killer get away with it. These criminals are
taking an innocent persons life and they get to live. They also get a place
to live, free food and don't have to pay for nothing. They get to kick back
while another family suffers for it. If the don't care about killing
somebody they won't mind if you execute them or else they wounldn't have
done it. Rarly do you see a .....

Editorial Speech On The Death Penalty
.... you can find shirts with his picture on them,
glorifying him. Songs have been written praising him.
But together these have not yet touched the scariest thing about
Charles Manson. The thing that you should be most frightened of is that
Charles Manson, and many like him are alive, with chance of parole. Yes
this murderous madman could yet again run rampant in the world. It is for
this reason that the death penalty is necessary.
Capital punishment is the system by which the people who have
committed the most heinous crimes are executed either by electric chair,
gas chamber, or lethal injection.
Despite the evil .....

Cannabis Hemp. . .Marijuana!
.... machine was developed, cannabis would again
become America's largest agricultural industry. Some 22 years later,
Popular Mechanics introduced a new generation of investors to just such a
device, (See the February 1989 issue of HIGH TIMES.) which brings us to
this next bit of history:
A PLAN TO SAVE OUR FOREST
Some canniabis plant strains regularly reach treelike heights of 20 feet
or more in one growing season.
In 1916, the U.S. Department of Agriculture wrote in special bulletin No.
404 that one acre of cannabis hemp, in annual rotation over a 20-year
period, would produce as much pulp for paper as 4.1 ac .....

Should Drugs Be Made Legal? (Against)
.... legalizing drugs would lessen crime. They point out
that the legalization of drugs would deter future criminal acts. They also
emphasize and contrast Prohibition. When the public realized that
Prohibition could not be enforced the law was repealed. From this, one
may infer the same of legalizing drugs. Legalizing alcohol didn't increase
alcoholism, so why would drugs increase drug abuse?
However, drugs should not be legalized because there would be an
increase in drug abuse due to its availability. Once legalized, drugs
would become cheaper and more accessible to people who previously had not
tried drugs, because of th .....
