A Look Into Alzheimer's Disease
.... situations. When in relatively simplex places patients may become lost or even forget where they are. Psychologically however, patients begin to become depressed most of the time and be anxious or confused. Some become restless and can barely ever sleep.
The cause of the disease, although not completely proven, is strictly genetics. It is passed down from generation to generation and that is one reason why it is so common among older people. Four percent of persons 65 to 74 years old are affected; ten percent of those 75 to 84 years, and twenty percent of those 85 years or older! It is however, remarkably rare among younger .....

Death
.... were rushed to the hospital and stayed there for about an hour. My sister and I were all right but my dad was in critical condition. My dad ended up only loosing his pinky finger. Just being in that situation made my outlook on life and death different. I couldn't bear the fact that my dad would be gone forever. Being a Christian I was brought up to believe that people who believe in Jesus Christ would have a greater destiny in heaven. But in these two situations with death, I wasn't able to think about them being gone and in heaven. I only thought about them being gone period.
Watching all the hurts and tears that people .....

The Digestive System: How It Works
.... evolved from such protozoans as amoebae and paramecia.
In most higher animals digestion is completed not in the cell in the cavity of a digestive tract (the stomach and intestine). Animals with this type of digestion include crustaceans, insects, cephalopods, tunicates, and all vertebrates. A few animals with digestive tracts also partially digest their food before eating it. Some spiders, for example, pierce their prey with fangs that pump digestive fluids into the victim. This liquefies the softer parts, which the spider then sucks into its stomach and intestine, where digestion is completed.

Resuscitation From Severe Hemorrhage
.... of the deaths that occur annually are due to acute illness or injury, and are associated with circulatory failure or shock. Some of these deaths could be avoided by the proper monitoring. The present technology is the monitoring early in the temporal course of an acute illness to observe the cardiac index, oxygen delivery and oxygen consumption. In the future, a possibility for a very effective non-invasive monitoring device, would be one which can provide the following cardiac output readings: pulse oximetry for estimating arterial hemoglobin oxygen saturationas a reflection of pulmonary function; transcutaneous oxygen .....

Dreams
.... of time as to why they [dreams] occur. Minds from all over the globe have united, and each person has attempted to formulate theories of their own as to why all of this is occurring inside our conscious and subconscious mind. Though none of these theories have been proven to be 100% correct, it probably will not be too long before someone gets on the right track to proving why dreams happen. No one person is an expert when it comes to dreams, nor does one individual dream more than the next, according to a popular theory, which says that each of us dreams every night. The terrible part is that most of us will forget our drea .....

Sickle Cell Disease
