James Madison's Federalist 45

do. Therefore, the federal government cannot have power over the states
because the states have a larger voice directly from the people, that is,
it is more directly a democratic branch of government.
It is also true that the state governments are a necessary part of

Freedom Of Speech

The First Amendment clearly voices a great American respect
toward the freedom of religion. It also prevents the government from

The Federalists Vs. The Anti-Federalists
.... Both groups, the federalist and anti-federalists recognized the
fact that power was being abused. They witnessed what had happened in the
war and that their had been negative effects of power and the result was
very clear. British vocation had made them very aware of the threat of
corruption. Therefore, they wanted to make a government that would ensure

The Effects Of Progressivism In Government

business and labor; and to eliminate the social ills of society through
needed reforms. Although the aims of Progressivism were shared by all
Progressivists, support came from many different groups.
Progressives came from both major parties, as well as from minor or

Affirmative Action
.... charity cases. They think without affirmative action they wouldn’t be able to get the job; therefore, these minorities are still not considered equals. Here is a quote from an article opposing affirmative action. "I think affirmative action helps to get a female an interview but once on the interview and once on the job, it gives males a basis for their resentment and skepticism of females..." (Cohen 18). This can cause additional tension between men and women that was not there before affirmative action.
