People Making Out In The School Hallways
.... see how annoying this gets to be then this will discourage them
from committing these acts in school again. If this course of action does
not prove effective then we will be forced to simply bring them all into a
room where they can be alone. While they are alone however we will simply
blow up the room and rid ourselves of this nuisance. We would all benefit
of this second solution because it would take care of two problems. First
off it would get rid of this vulgar display and secondly it would take care
of the always annoying overcrowding of the hallways and make an easier
learning experience in the classroom.

Education Of The Gifted And Talented Student
.... there are fundamental characteristics that are
commonly associated with giftedness and are generally observed in different
levels in most of these children. An article in the Instructor categorizes
these qualities as "..creative, perfectionistic and intellectual" and
asserts that gifted and talented children exhibit advanced development in
these general areas. Through my research I have found that there are
general consistencies among these students, and many do fall under these
basic categories.
Many gifted and talented students use and demonstrate an understanding
of an advanced vocabulary and display an outstanding and .....

How To Study
.... in your schedule will affect how you study. Try to train yourself to
use every minute of your scheduled time.
7.Obviously, study when you are awake.
When you study during the day, , you are more likely to learn faster and
retain the information longer. If during your study session you feel drowsy
and are about to fall asleep, give in. It is better to learn the rest of
the information in the morning than trying to stay awake and forgetting
everything the next day.
8.Set goals to accomplish in each subject.
If you set a goal for a specific time period, you are more likely to
accomplish more of it and faster. Don't worry if you do .....

Technology In Improving Education Standards
.... and productive.
Since computers and the Internet have expanded in such a way in
which education can be delivered to students, it is currently possible to
engage in "distance education through the Internet. Distance education
involves audio and video links between teachers and students in remote
areas. Video conferencing allows groups to communicate with each other.
Desktop video conferencing promises to bring students together from
geographic and cultural distances, face to face via computer. Not only
will the teacher talk to the students, but the students will be able to
interact with each other. This will make stu .....

Grades Do Not Acurrately Reflect What A Student Has Learned
.... learned nothing.
People assume that students who have all A's are always more
intelligent than students whose grades aren't quite as high. For example,
Susan could take Mickey Mouse classes all year long, pull straight A's, and
walk away with less knowledge than Philip, who has taken more difficult
classes and passed with B's and C's. Some students have figured out
exactly what they need to do to get a good grade. They do just that, and
walk away whether they have learned the material presented to them or not.
Other students just don't perform well under pressure. A person
can study, learn all of the material, understand it, .....

The Charter School Movement In New Zealand And England
.... agenda to crush
labour unions, and allow the market to operate unfettered without costly
government intervention. These people contend that adoption of a market
based system will lead to a two-tiered system of winners and losers and
that those in greatest need of support will fall by the wayside. (Barlow,
202) Whichever way one wants to analyze the phenomena, it seems to be part
of a larger trend of decentralization of government services. At present,
over 60 countries are undergoing some form of decentralization. (Class
Notes) The motives for this decentralization can be government attempts at
cost-saving through eliminati .....

Time Makes A Big Difference
.... restless
when they are bored for a long time. That's another area where my idea
would help. It would shorten the day from 7 hours to 4 hours. A 3 hour
difference! Kids also daydream when they are bored. They could miss
important information that the teacher is explaining because they are
thinking about other things. With my idea in effect, the kids won't even
know the day is over because it goes so fast. With school starting at 7:20,
some kids have to get on the bus at 6:30. Everybody is always starving. I
know this sounds kind of silly, but some kids go home because their
stomachs hurt. The real reason is because they .....

Should Students In Public Schools Wear Uniforms: Negative
.... of uniforms in Laurence High school, attendance of
students has dropped rapidly and 600 students have been given detention and
200 have been suspended (most likley due to jobs on weekends). Obviously
did the oposite of what uniforms are suppost to solve.
Fashion competition in schools today would be irrelevant due to
that fashion competition is derived form the adults who act as a model. If
i weren't so worried about fashion then why are we having uniforms in the
first place? To prove my point, you might see a trend in some family's
were childerens peers often dress like them, often have same taste of music

Computers In Schools
.... Students began to have hands-on experience.
In less than a decade, computer use progressed from programming
classes for a few of the better students, to literacy classes for all
students, to the integration of computers and technology into the
curriculum.
Computers are not only used for educating, in the last 5-10 years,
many homes have started to use computers for practical uses that even
computer illiterates can understand.
Many People have discovered that they can make banners for every

Students have been using their Word Processors to type up repo .....

Teachers
.... This teacher assigns a mild amount of
homework, with few - if any - large projects. A conversation with this type
of teacher generally follows this pattern:
Teacher: Do you all have your assignment done?
Student: No… can we have another day to work on it?
Teacher: Well… I guess so.
(A whole class period of talking, with no work being done.)
The next day also follow a very similar pattern.
Teacher: Well, now that I've given you another day to do your
homework, do you have your assignment done?
Student: No. Can we have another day to work on it?
Teacher: Well. I guess so. But you better w .....

Argumentative Essay: Not Delaying A College Education
.... involves
parties, football games, and drinking beer with your buddies as well as an
education. As you get into the entire experience and enjoy college, you
will understand and appreciate what a college offers.
The ideal time for college is now more than ever as you also have
scholarships and your parents to help with the expensive money arrangement
which is needed. Parents can be a great help in paying for your college,
and may be willing to pay much more immediately after graduation from High
School, than paying 2 years afterwards. Scholarships are always helpful to
students, paying for a little bit of an expensive colleg .....

Bilingual Education
.... "the objectives of the
classes are confused, the quality of instruction is poor," and the
"transition" time, when students transition into regular classes, is murky
(Schrag 14). Critics believe that the goals of bilingual education have
been forgotten and replaced with the need to "preserve native culture and
traditions" (Rothstein 627). In fact, the major defense from advocates of
bilingual education is that there is nothing wrong with preserving
children's ethnic and linguistic heritage.
It is important to have an understanding of English when living in
the United States, after all, "according to the 1990 census, 94 percen .....
