Slow Ride
.... the speed limit.
"I'm in England!" Jack would yell as he poked his head out of the sunroof.
Though I could barely hear him above the blaring music.
I felt care and worry free. We were headed for the first party of the school year, and rather quickly at that. I was so preoccupied with the road and talking to my passengers that I didn't notice the blue and red lights flashing in my rear view mirror. I kept driving until I casually glanced to my left to check my blind spot and spotted a police car containing a police officer who was signaling me to pull over. I tried to brake hard enough thinking that the officer would go away .....

Christmas Day
.... deep within my heart. There was nothing to fear and nothing was going wrong so I spent a lot of time in my mother's arms. After a while at the house my father had to call work to see how everything was going. He was on the telephone for a while but that always happened during family occasions. As the day ended we packed up our things and headed for home. It was a great feeling to be loved on this day by all and I thanked everybody a million times for all the wonderful gifts that I received.
As I walked into the house I wished everybody a goodnight and then I went on my way to a night of rest. Then not all of the sudden som .....

On Taunting Lacy Lou
.... up drenched in cold sweat and tears. With the whisper of a breeze, I was flung back into the watercolors of my memory, and one nightmare mural of my childhood protruded.
The heat lavishly fed the dirt pathway with the first freezer pops of summer. School had been out for three days, and lobster bodies grazed at home. The sun showed no mercy to my small town during June. I would be turning twelve that summer, and my brother would turn nine. Every summer my brother and I traded jobs. We could either feed the dog, papa's golden girl, or mow the grass.
Feeding Lacy Lou, dad's pup, meant total admiration from dad. So it was no .....

The Doll And A White Rose
.... "It is the doll my sister wanted so badly for Christmas. She just knew that Santa would bring it." I told him that maybe Santa was going to bring it. He said, "No, Santa can't go where my sister is . . . I have to give the doll to my mamma to take to her."
I asked him where his sister was. He looked at me with the saddest eyes and said, "She has gone to be with Jesus. My daddy says that mamma is going to have to go be with her." My heart nearly stopped beating. Then the boy looked at me again and said, "I told my daddy to tell mamma not to go yet. I told him to tell her to wait till I got back from the store." Then he as .....

An Significant Experience
.... dishes were placed to serve me? As I stepped out of the kitchen, the same feeling crept in. I always remembered living in a mansion. Had it shrunk? When I asked my mom, she gave me a perplexed look as though I had just left a mental hospital. I heard several quarrels within our home, ones I had never before noticed. I viewed sides of our family that I had never seen before. Adults whom I had once regarded as the "bestest" people in the world were now simply minds with thoughts completely different from me. The people whose words used to be right to me were now wrong, although I never mentioned it. As I walked the streets, I hardly .....

The Matchmaker
.... that Steve is too into his team to have time for a girlfriend, let alone a wife.
Homer is one of the “top dogs” at his work, and he has recently begun working with a lady by the name of Mary Larkins. It was kind of weird at first, for Homer, working with a female at a construction site. As soon as Homer began to get to know Mary, he realized that she was an enjoyment to be around, and had no trouble working with her. In fact, Homer and Mary began to be good friends. As it wound up, Mary’s kids were the exact same ages as Homer’s and even went to the same school as Homer’s children did. Homer’s wife, Marge, had talke .....

Regicide
.... magician who used real magic instead of illusions, for Beson had served Seripita for more than five hundred years yet he did not look a day over thirty five. Beson had come across thousands of kings and had not found one half as sinister as King Peyna, so when prince Anders came seeking a solution Beson was more than grateful to conjure a plan to eliminate and rid the kingdom of the horrible Peyna. Beson told Anders of the dangers and punishment of regicide yet the prince shook his head solemnly and replied one phrase that burned within Beson and forced him to believe that Anders was in fact the most courageous king he had ever .....

Descriptive Essay
.... grasped by the eight men in black trousers with brilliant brass buttons. I watch without blinking, as the mysterious woman fallows the men in rhythmic step towards the grave yard. Sounds of marching and bristling leaves pass through my wind scorched ears. The coffin that is so gracefully carried is, in the same manner, placed on the taunt, yellow straps of the frost covered, casket lowering, platform.
A tall, and grossly thin man approaches from behind the wall of grief-stricken relatives. The pale flesh of his face hangs tightly to his definite cheek bones. His eyes are hidden behind the purple bags protruding from und .....

If There Was A Revolution In 1998
.... ground. Our country needs to recycle… that is the end of it. We are filling our earth with trash… just think what could be in place of all those garbage dumps. If there was a revolution, I think that there should be a big change in the way we are taking care of our earth… because if we don’t, nothing else will matter because where will we be?
Thirdly, if there were a revolution in 1998, we should create a better working system, make better jobs available to more people. Working for EVERYONE is a way of life, and unfortunately, there are not enough jobs for everyone. If there was a revolution, we should make more job space, a .....

The Loss Of A Friend
.... idea what to expect.
The day of the funeral was a beautiful summer day. The sky was blue with not one cloud visible. It seemed ironic that a day filled with such sorrow had such a gorgeous setting. I remember walking into the funeral home seeing so many faces filled with pain. Amanda was sitting with her family. She turned and cried in my arms. Her Mom gave me a hug. I felt at a loss for words. I had nothing to say. As I sat she promised me she would not cry. I sat there feeling cold and alone. His friends stood up to speak about him, remembering all the good times they would never have share again. It made my heart ache fo .....
