Understanding Masculine Psychology
.... where the innocent veil of boyhood was pierced, or an event in that the ease of being gives way to struggle and conflict. In this sense, “all men are Fisher Kings. Every boy has naively blundered into something that was too big for him, gotten halfway through, realized that he couldn’t handle it, and collapsed. Then he is wounded, he is hurt terribly, and he goes off to lick his wounds. A certain bitterness arises because he tries so hard to and actually touches his salmon – individuation – yet he cannot hold it. It only burns him (Johnson 10).”
Every male struggles with the conflict of moving from the innocent simplist .....

Analysis Of Goblin Market
.... would be the part that desires to stay away from it.
The doubleness between Laura and Lizzie parallels the doubleness between Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Similar to Laura and Lizzie, Adam and Eve also had opposing desires, and Eve, similar to Laura, fell into temptation by eating the forbidden fruit. The parallel between the couples is also reinforced by the similar idea of a singular person. Adam and Eve suggest singularity because Eve was created from Adam, and Laura and Lizzie suggest singularity because of their uncanny resemblance.
Another parallel among the paired couples is between the goblin men and the .....

A Separate Peace: An Analysis
.... to understand.
Jumping off a tree into the river once is an adventure, continually attempting this act is crazy. Finney was in control of this situation. Gene hated this ritual. He continued to do it because Finney said so. It seems that Gene disliked the fact that Finney had this control over him. Could this possibly be the reason that Gene shook the branch that day? Now Finney would no longer have such control over him. Could these have been the intentions of Gene that day? This scenario needs the maturity of an adult to fully understand. Personally I am not sure of the exact intents of the scene. It just seems that Gene i .....

.... crime of jealousy, in Momaday's story, Abel seems at first to have taken the position of the aggressor in killing the white man. However, despite Abel's violent crime, he still seems to mirror his Biblical namesake more so than the violent image of Cain.
However, unlike Cain, Momaday's Abel has valid personal reasons for slaying the white man. We first see him as the victim of the white man. At the feast of Santiago, we see the white man brutally beating Abel. The narrator says, "Again and again the white man struck him, heavily, brutally, upon the chest and shoulders and head, and Abel threw up his hands" (Momaday 44). Thi .....

At Peter's funeral, The so-called William and Harvey show their acts of grief to the crowd of people at Peter's funeral. W .....

Heart Of Darkness: Different Centers Of Darkness
.... Dorall continues deeper into abyss of interrupting these two novels by pointing out subtle variances. He first mentions the fact that the characters on the riverboat in the novel lack the depth and development of a true character. On the other hand, the film takes time and effort to develop each individual character on the patrol boat, thus creating some sort of personality that the audience can relate to and take comfort in. Dorall continues down into the darkened minds of both Kurtzs by citing the lures of man’s primal, animalistic nature, as the reason for colonial Kurtz’s shedding of civilization. However, it is .....

If you enjoyed the original Official Netscape Guide to Internet Research, I doubt that you will need to run to the stores to buy this 2nd Edition. However, if you know of someone who is new to Internet research and would benefit from a general overview of the Internet and Net tools (including how to configure Netscape Communicator (whereas the original concentrated on Netscape E .....
