.... the role ended much of the negative typecasting that had haunted black actors up until then, it also typecast Roundtree as a black action hero in a time when actors could not build successful careers on action films. Since then, he has landed numerous small roles in television, including parts in "Roots" and two recent "Bonanza" specials. His work in film has consisted mainly of over twenty low-budget action films. But none of his roles have matched the visibility or popularity of John Shaft.

Representation And The Media
.... This is not a good thing to have a habit of.
You can not agree, disagree, talk about, or respond to a situation, unless you were there. You absolutely have no idea of what went on or how much of the story is true. The media lets you know what they want you to know. Also, there can never be ONE interpretation or essential meaning to something.
I would like to see more films like this only with a little more of an "attention getter." I feel I could learn a lot more from something that I think is interesting.

The start of the their act is in the city’s church. The young man’s father, the tribe leader, has decided that his son is now allowed to have a wedding in the city. In the church, it looks like the modern and traditional cultures are merged together. The one characteristic of Antigone that seems to be constant throughout the play is her stubbornness. From the beginning of the play when she sneaks out to bury her brother after Creon had specifically told her not to, all the way to the end when she is given the opportunity to marry Haemon and go on living but forces her own death. She always seemed to fight everything for as long as possible, never taking the easy way out if it compromised her beliefs. In the end it was her stubbornness that ultimately killed her.
