Monster Essays - Gilgameshs Downfall In "The Epic of Gilgamesh" the main character, Gilgamesh, is searching for immortality. This want is brought about by deep feelings held by Gilgamesh for his dead friend Enkidu. From this, Gilgamesh finds himself being scared of dying.
