In the play The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail, Thoreau theorizes his knowledge on transcendentalism. Humans no longer have the time to sit down in a restaurant and wait for their food, or to just stop during the day and admire the scenery we have around us. Instead, we as humans are polluting the air by driving everywhere, even if it is just a block away. Ships are dumping oilrigs into the ocean and killing all sea life.
