Amelia
In the first scene of Amelia the screenplay suggests inattentive family culture. The “cultural message” is displayed by Amelia’s parents whom don’t pay mind to their own daughter. Amelia is wearing masculine clothing which is a bit abnormal for her culture. Her clothing could be viewed as a cry for attention from her parents and her peers. The family appears to be quite wealthy by the looks of their “sporty sedan”. They also seem engrossed in an intelligent conversation about their daily jobs.
