Changes of Macbeth and His Wife Macbeth At the beginning of the play Macbeth is viewed as a great soldier who is very loyal to King Duncan. He is the Thane of Glamis and is very much indeed happy with his life. When the witches come into his life is when he begins to change. When he comes back home and tells his wife about what the witches say she is very ambitious for Macbeth to carry out a measure that will allow him to be king. When Macbeth hears of how Duncan is to come to his house his wife and him decide to hatch a scheme to dispose of Duncan and to be king himself.
