In the tragic play Antigone, written by Sophocles, Creon is a very stubborn person, who always believes he is right in decision making. He is the leader of Thebes and if his ways continue Thebes will be a very unhappy place. It will be an unhappy place because a leader who ignores the requests and demands of his people is destined to fail.
The actions Creon presents prove that he is an independent leader. For example, he decides to kill Antigone even though the townspeople believe that she did a good deed and shouldn’t be punished. Only later does Creon realize that because of his harsh punishment ....
