“Wake up! Wake up!” The shrieking commands of my now irate mother abruptly awake me. As I strain to open my eyes, I am pierced by the fiery hot coals of the sun’s rays. I roll out of bed, only to hear more commands barked out by my mother. “Hurry up, you’re going to be late, you don’t want to be late on your first day of school.” I quickly glance at my alarm clock, and frantically rush to put on my new clothes. “I’m not going to make it!” I keep telling myself, “I’m not going to make it.”
With my bag in hand, and supplies falling everywhere I meet my mom at the base of the stairs. She hands me a poptart, and wishes me luck. Before I head out, I check my bag one last ....
